Guest UserIf you’re considering staying here, just book it. After four years living in China, this was my farewell trip, and I was incredibly excited to experience ******* culture. I could not have chosen a better place.
The family is simply wonderful. They arranged airport pick-up, helped me organize trips around the area, changed my breakfast so I could try authentic local food, prepared homemade yogurt for me every evening, and even introduced me to friends who spoke English. Their hospitality was beyond anything I could have expected.
I have travelled extensively all over the world, and without a doubt this family has made this one of the best trips of my life. They even invited me to watch a movie projected onto the courtyard wall with them one evening – a memory I will always cherish.
As for the hotel itself, it is spotless. I’m very particular about cleanliness, and everything was impeccable. The quality of the towels, bedding and furnishings was exceptional, and the hotel is absolutely beautiful.
I stayed for five nights and was never bored. Xiahe has so much more to offer than many people realise.
I honestly cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thank you for making my stay so special ❤️

Guest UserAs our journey around Gannan drew to a close in Xiahe, I found myself only concerned with cleanliness when choosing accommodations, which rarely met my expectations. However, this guesthouse, which I hadn't held out much hope for, exceeded my expectations in every way. It was spotless, the kettle looked brand new, the bedding was incredibly comfortable, and the room was completely odor-free. The service was also outstanding; they proactively upgraded our room, helped with our luggage, and even offered extra bottled water when they learned we were dining in the room. It was excellent value for money, and I will definitely choose this guesthouse again next time I visit Xiahe.

Extremely charming Tibetan-style hotel. It was decorated very beautifully, with lovely wooden furniture and rugs, and corridors full of plants. We got the cheapest room, with a shared bathroom, but even this room was very spacious, and the shared bathroom was nearby. It was warm in the room, with the option to open the window to cool it down. The staff were very accommodating, and helped us book a taxi and answered our questions via Google translate. The hotel has a delicious restaurant, where we ate both breakfast and dinner, including lots of ******* food prepared freshly. The location is perfect for visiting Labrang monastery - they do English tours there even in March.

The room was clean, tidy, and spacious. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, and there was a washing machine for guests to do laundry. Breakfast was prepared by the staff and delivered to the room; it included eggs and wonton-like dumplings, which tasted pretty good. 😄👍🏻👍🏻

Guest UserIncredible stay at the Xicheng Inn. The hotel is very cozy with fascinating decor. I loved spending time in the third-floor library, filled with cultural artifacts, games, and books – you'll never get bored! The hospitality from the hotel staff is also unmatched. I stayed alone but never felt lonely. They take guests on walks around the city to discover ******* culture. I recommend staying here not only for the comfort of the hotel but also for the wonderfully warm atmosphere.

Guest UserWhen booking the hotel, I specifically checked other guests' reviews. It still exceeded my expectations. The guesthouse isn't located on the main street, but in an alley, near the Wuzelinka ******* Restaurant. We arrived at the guesthouse on the evening of the 2nd, and it was snowing that night. The owners and their family came out to pick us up—they were incredibly friendly! The two-story rooms were both very clean. Our electric blanket broke, and they bought us a new one the next day. They also always let us know before we went out or when we returned. Breakfast was home-style, with millet porridge, white eggs, etc. On my second day, I caught a cold and experienced some altitude sickness, and the guesthouse owner gave us medicine! In short, I recommend this guesthouse to everyone visiting Xiahe! The only downside was that our trip was a bit rushed, so I didn't take many photos of the guesthouse.

This is great hotel and with a few minor improvements it could be an outstanding hotel. It's location couldn't be better as it is directly across the street from the entrance to the Longram Monastery and very near the main street. The hotel has an interesting ******* character and has its own good restaurant. We were assigned a very large and comfortable room. The staff were at all times friendly and welcoming. My minor complaints were the absence of any English speakers (admittedly an issue at almost all the hotels we have stayed at in China), the bathroom towels were a bit raged, and the internet connection was weak.

Guest UserThe dorm was very clean and equipped with a kettle, which was nice. I was the only guest during my stay. As mentioned in the other reviews, the dorm is located in the basement and you have to walk a bit to reach the toilet.
The „shower“ is located across the front desk. It’s a small room where the hotel is storing their cleaning equipment, so showering there is a quite dirty and unpleasant experience. As there are so many dorms in the basement (I would guess 50+ beds), I wonder how they would handle the situation if the hotel is fully booked.
Overall I would recommend staying there for one night, if you are not picky.

This hotel is located on the 18th floor. The entrance was a bit messy, but I really like the hotel. It has a large screen TV, refrigerator, automatic toilet (the bidet didn't work because I wasn't familiar with how to use it), free drinking water, and automatic curtains. It's almost perfect.

The hotel is currently getting renovated so every room on our level was getting drilled and sawed and hammered. The room smelled very strongly of sewage. Upon arrival, there was a towel with dried blood/booger hanging in the bathroom. The bathroom didn't have soap so we had to use the shower gel to wash hands.
Pros: The older reception lady spoke English. The location is next to the monastery.
