The owner truly treats guests like family, greeting us with a ceremonial white Hada the moment we arrived. Each evening, they thoughtfully brought warm butter tea to our room and shared local legends, speaking in earnest, albeit broken, Chinese. What truly stayed with me was opening my window in the crisp morning to see prayer flags fluttering against the majestic backdrop of snow-capped mountains, with the gentle chime of yak bells carried on the breeze. It felt as if the entire plateau was whispering a welcome. This is more than just a place to stay; it's an immersive dive into ******* culture. My soul felt utterly filled with purity and warmth. GGuest UserOur stay here was lovely, with kind staff. We are Australian and our check-in was easy. However, please note that the name of the hotel name is “Samphel Dhondup Hotel”, and it is located near the southern corner of 腾志路, Tengzhi Road, near the Monastery Ticket Centre and the river. This was confusing upon arrival. The heated floors were extremely hot, and not able to be turned off. Our room was a sauna, despite being -4°c outside (we had our window open the whole time). Hopefully this can be fixed. Breakfast was small but we were here during the offseason.

GGuest UserIncredible stay at the Xicheng Inn. The hotel is very cozy with fascinating decor. I loved spending time in the third-floor library, filled with cultural artifacts, games, and books – you'll never get bored! The hospitality from the hotel staff is also unmatched. I stayed alone but never felt lonely. They take guests on walks around the city to discover ******* culture. I recommend staying here not only for the comfort of the hotel but also for the wonderfully warm atmosphere. 在Xicheng Inn 的入住体验令人难忘。酒店装饰别致温馨，三楼的图书室尤其迷人——里面摆满了文化工艺品、游戏和书籍，待上一整天都不会无聊！酒店员工的待客之道无可挑剔，我虽是独自旅行，却从未感到孤单。他们会带客人漫步古城，领略藏地文化风情。我强烈推荐这里，不仅因为舒适的住宿环境，更因那份宾至如归的温暖氛围。

GGuest UserWe rushed directly from Aba to check in near Lapuleng Monastery. This B&B is right opposite the Lapuleng Monastery, which is very convenient for visiting the temple the next day. It's a newly opened B&B and not easy to find. After calling, the owner drove over to show us the way. The disposable toiletries were good. The room was newly renovated, odorless, and very quiet. The owner recommended Jiang Meili Hot Pot nearby, where we had a local specialty yak beef hot pot. The portion was quite large and delicious. 😋 Overall, this B&B is quite good and worth staying in.

The children especially loved the ******* clothing experience. The children wore ******* clothing to take photos. The locals were very enthusiastic and said that the clothes were authentic and high-end ******* clothing. It was a great deal!

GGuest UserThe dorm was very clean and equipped with a kettle, which was nice. I was the only guest during my stay. As mentioned in the other reviews, the dorm is located in the basement and you have to walk a bit to reach the toilet. The „shower“ is located across the front desk. It’s a small room where the hotel is storing their cleaning equipment, so showering there is a quite dirty and unpleasant experience. As there are so many dorms in the basement (I would guess 50+ beds), I wonder how they would handle the situation if the hotel is fully booked. Overall I would recommend staying there for one night, if you are not picky.

NNikoas4The hotel is extremely close to the monastery. Some people at the reception speak english and they can book you a private tour to visit the grasslands and the monasteries outside the city that otherwise would be unreacheables for 400rmb per vehicle. The room is big and the beds are warm.
