I was visiting the University on business. From the minute I walked in you could feel the customer service culture was very good and very natural. Every team member from reception to the team that we’re looking after the bar and restaurant. I’m sitting here writing this after my breakfast. Again a really friendly and genuine environment. I felt compelled to write this review. I managed a customer service driven environment for many years and I know the work that goes on behind the scenes to keep what you have worked hard to achieve. Great receptionist who was very welcoming and friendly. Good location for access to the A500 and A34 roads as well as a bus stop only a 5 minute walk away. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is very dated and lack on soundproofing between the rooms is a major issue. I could hear the guy in the room below talking and could also hear the room next door opening and closing their toilet seat! I was awoken at 1am with an inconsiderate neighbour with their tv on very loud and coughing loudly. There is a main wing and smaller wing to the side. I stayed on the 1st floor in the main wing but I would recommend you ask for the 1st floor in the small wing to minimise the number of people around you and source of external noise. View from the room was nice however.

Travelled up for a charity bike ride. Proximity to park and mosque was key and this suited perfectly. Room was great. Shower powerful. Noise Proof good as we had a baby with us. Cot provided good standard. Breakfast was very good in morning and not too pricey if bought in advance with booking. Only lose points on having to provide confirmation that breakfast was booked due to fault with their booking system.

The hotel is very close to Waterworld stoke on Trent, There is no charge for its own parking lot. It will be convenient to play in the water. Waterworld did not wash for two minutes. The cabinet clerk was polite and sent three fresh cookies to eat. The room is good, the TV is big enough, the disadvantage is that the shower water is too weak, there is no air conditioning in the room but there is a fan. Breakfast is a general English buffet, there are not many choices but enough food, the grain has a separate packaging is more hygienic.

A very clean and tidy hotel. It felt brand new and the entire building smelt fresh, including the room. The room itself was spotless as was the bathroom, absolutely nothing to complain about whatsoever. Always a mission to find a hotel for a business stop over last minute and one that doesn't cost the earth, managed to snag this one for £45.99 for the night.. A well recommended hotel indeed!

We were in Stoke for a weekend conference and stayed at Clayhanger , mainly as it was so convenient for the Conference Centre. Kevin and his family were most hospitable and we enjoyed our stay. We had a nice quiet twin room at the back of the guesthouse (room 10) . The room was not huge but we were only there 2 nights and hadn't brought much luggage with us so no problem. Beds were comfortable and the room was warm so we slept well both nights. Continental breakfast was nice - a full cooked breakfast was not available but I had scambled egg on toast one morning and that was fine. We parked in a residential street opposite the guest house (no charge). Overall a very nice stay and if the conference is held in Stoke again next year, we will certainly book Clayhanger again

An excellent base for an early train from Crewe station. Friendly staff, superb food and lovely pool . Rooms could do with a refresh - looking a bit dated. Perfectly adequate for our needs though with tea and coffee and the usual iron, hairdryer etc. As it was on the ground floor, you could only open the windows a tiny bit, so it would become very warm in the summer even with the fan that was provided. I do think that air conditioning should be standard in all hotels now. Access to the pool was quite restrictive with specific times but the pool area was lovely although the steam room was out of order. Access to the full spa was at extra cost. The Stables Grill was excellent - food, service and cocktails - couldn’t fault and the breakfast equally as nice. Would definitely stay here again.
