The George Hotel and Beach Club

We had a 1 night, mid week stay, for my wifes birthday. They gave us a complimentary upgrade for the occation. Good start. All the staff were very friendly, welcoming and knoledgeable. The room was excellent and well equiped, with a great view over the terrace, and the Solent. We had afternoon drinks on the terrace, also overlooking the Solent which was fab. no evening meal, but the breakfast was excellent. We stayed for one night. Parking is an issue really and expensive. Our room was very comfortable and clean and the view amazing from the balcony. We didn't eat here as last time we stayed we found that there wasn't much choice. Went to The Hut!! I would also like to say the breakfast is poor really. You shouldn't have to toast your own bread. It wouldn't take a minute to do a rack of toast and no coffee pots! Why? For the quality of the hotel it's a let down. Staff are very good.

Dropped in for a last minute dinner. Service was excellent, food was spot on, and the location is lovely. Definitely the nicest place we visited whilst in Yarmouth. Was just a shame it was rising whilst we were there so we were unable to enjoy the terrace!

We were visiting the island on a 5 day break when we we ventured into the George for a quick drink. I went to the bar to our drinks and ordered a pint of lager and a medium glass of rose wine. The bar staff poured the drinks and informed me that the cost was £21.25p. I FOUND THE COST OBSCENE and UNACCEPTABLE and I hope this review highlights to other visitors the EXTORTIANATE cost of visiting this establishment.

Mains of cod were lovely, but would've preferred if the prawns didnt have their eggs attatched... Was abit off putting and surpirised they were served in that way. Mini egg martini was very tasty and really appreciated the birthday plate!!

All the trappings without the service and food. The menu was so tiny by the time we came to eat there was 3 choices. They are dining out on their seafront location. Not worth the money over priced with no substance so many better places to go even the yacht club with the same view has better service and happier staff.

Where do I start….had lunch in the restaurant NYE where the service was very slow, un attentive and had so many holes in the service. Then I asked if we could celebrate NYE at the bar and was told that unless I paid for the disco, I could buy a drink and go to my room as the music was for paying guests! We were residents that night. We went out to a more friendly place. When we were leaving to have dinner, the reception told us we could sit in the lounge area between 8-10 and then go to our room! No thank you I thought! We went out to dinner, bought wine from the restaurant as they were closing and went to our room like good children! I wasn’t allowed to sit at the bar and spend £120 as I would hear the music but could listen to the music in my room through the floor! Ridiculous! Next morning poor service in the restaurant again, cool poached eggs, blood pudding could be used as a deadly weapon, awful but it was included! Perhaps the management is poor or it’s off season. Wouldn’t bother to go back. I’m an Ex Pat who visits family all the time. Try the Seaview Hotel, much better.

We spent Xmas and New Year at the George it was fantastic. We had Xmas Day with family and the food, service and a**osphere was brilliant. New Years Eve was spent with the wife and this was probably one of our best NYE nights out, from the start of the evening being welcomed with a glass of Champagne to the end of the end night countdown to bring the new year in all had excellent vibes. We can highly recommend Chris**as and New Year at the George, and especially to Nicole for making it all so seamless and stress free.

Popped in for Brunch on Boxing Day. Amazed to find anywhere open as we thought at best we might get a takeout coffee somewhere, so this was a proper treat. Lovely location, beautiful Chris**as decorations, lovely friendly staff and delicious brunch! Good choice on menu and my pot of tea hit the spot too.
