The room smelled horrible. The photos on the web had nothing to do with reality. The hotel is very old and not taken care of… I would for sure not recommend it

Not the cleanest hotel we’ve ever stayed in, with extremely dusty room, bathroom had a ‘drainage’ smell, which all made is wonder how clean everything else was!

The Hotel Ikar is a small green oasis, located next to a busy road. It is only a 10 min drive to Blois.
The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Most of them are of Indian origin, while the hotel also has an Indian restaurant.
My room was very comfortable and equipped with a water boiler for coffee and tea. Unfortunately, a mini fridge was missing. There was a fan in the room instead of an A/C.
I did not try the breakfast buffet which looked okay.
Although there are a few cheaper options in Blois, I would recommend to pay the extra few Euros and stay at Hotel Ikar. It is definitively worth it and you won't be disappointed. it is excellent value for money. I will stay here again when I am back in Blois.
