We understand that the weather is not something that is within the resort’s control. What is within the resort’s control is the customer experience. For a place that claims to be a resort and charged fixed resort fee, nothing was available. Some examples include: The Nordic centre was closed during the week due to lack of snow yet no communication on this before arrival or any other activities available. Complimentary golf, while is great, is only one activity. You could add a summary of other activities around the resort or the area with some discounts to entice spending. a) within one sheet of paper or an welcome email people will feel like this place is not a scam but a resort that cares about the customer experience; B) with little discounts, this entice extra spend to generate $ for both the resort and local businesses. The staff all seem very friendly but seem to only know of what they are responsible for, no effort to ask whether its people first time to help or provide insights on anything else. Two examples: 1. We had asked about hiking. Read from website that there should be lots of hiking from resort. We went to front desk to ask for help and first she didn’t know and then mentioned that we can find signs from Nordic centre. Found no signs so we ended up just around the golf course. We instead did our own research and drove to Copeland Forest P1(what a great place to hike and explore with children). 2. No discount to ski so we paid full price for ski lift ticket for our little guy. We forgot his ski boots so the rental place lent him a pair, which was very nice but if we knew that the place was closed at 4pm, we wouldn’t spend $90+ but a bit of skiing. We asked what time to return and was told 9pm on Sunday. Skiing in the morning and was thinking of skiing in the afternoon and evening. Came back from hiking and lunch that the ski hills were closed at 4pm. Can’t return skis so we went to front desk for help, no help as wasn’t her department and we need to figure out ourselves in the morning. Things just close with no notice- example with the skiing on Sunday and then the pizza place (eleven) - sign all week was Wed to Sun 4-10pm but when we went over tonight (sun) was told it was closed. We spent over $1700 for 4 nights. We were looking at potentially trying again in the summer time to see the summer activities as this is close to Toronto and an option for weekend fun, but not here.
