Hotel Dame des Arts

A Stunning Aesthetic Marred by Disappointing Service My recent stay at Hôtel Dame des Arts allowed me to immerse myself in the splendor of the awe-inspiring interior design crafted by Raphel Navot and indulge in the allure of the popular rooftop bar, which undoubtedly left a positive and lasting impression. The interior design of the hotel was a masterpiece in itself, with Raphel Navot's talent evident in every detail. The ambiance exuded elegance and sophistication, creating an atmosphere that truly enhanced the overall guest experience. Additionally, the rooftop bar provided breathtaking views of Paris, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and enjoyment. Regrettably, the overall experience was overshadowed by a combination of disappointments, notably the service at the ground floor cafe. The male employee with a beard exhibited a dismissive and inattentive demeanor during my interactions with him. His lack of attentiveness made me feel overlooked, leaving me hesitant to further explore the cafe's offerings. While I typically do not demand exceptional service, this level of inattentiveness fell short even of my usual expectations. This attitude displayed by this specific employee overshadowed the positive hospitality offered by all other employees at the hotel, leaving a bittersweet impression of the overall service. Furthermore, my stay was marred by a billing issue, resulting in double charging for my fully prepaid reservation. Such an oversight was embarrassing. On a positive note, I must commend the other hotel staff, particularly those at the reception and rooftop bar areas, for their accommodating nature, contributing to a more pleasant overall experience. In conclusion, Hôtel Dame des Arts undoubtedly showcased a dedication to exceptional design and ambiance. However, the combination of one inattentive employee and the billing concerns left me with a mixed impression. I firmly believe that fostering a culture of attentive and respectful service, along with diligent billing practices, is essential to delivering an exceptional guest experience. By addressing these issues, Hôtel Dame des Arts can elevate its reputation and ensure that every guest is treated with the care and professionalism they rightfully deserve. A seamless harmony of remarkable aesthetics and attentive service will undoubtedly make for an even more remarkable stay at this captivating hotel.

The room is actually ok, not very small (if you have lived in a European hotel, friends should know that the room is very small), should not be an extra bed, air conditioning, wifi, relatively new, clean bathroom, bath water is also very Big. The location of the hotel is good, go out and take a small street is the Seine River, about five minutes walk from Notre Dame Cathedral, next to the subway, travel is very convenient! Overall, I think it is quite good. It is best to live on the 2nd floor, the 3rd floor is the attic, the top is slanting, a little depressed

The small and old double room in the room is less than 1 meter 5 and the friend squeezed for one night. It is really not recommended to live. The nearby holiday hotel is not good to enter but it is better to book a regular hotel, but the transportation is very convenient. Walking, you can go to Notre Dame

Our family of four stayed at Hotel Villa D’Estree the week of Easter (7 nights) and had a wonderful experience. If you’re visiting Paris for the first time and looking for a cozy, centrally located, and really well-managed hotel — Villa D’Estree is a fantastic choice. For our family, the standout part of the whole experience was the hotel staff. Before we even arrived, they sent us recommendations for restaurants, cafes, and shops, and at our request, even did some extra research for church mass times. They were all so genuinely friendly and attentive during our entire stay. But most important, it was the care and attention they showed when our young daughter developed a bad stomach ache. They arranged for a doctor to come to the hotel within the hour, which was incredibly helpful and reduced our stress. Our thanks to the entire team at Villa D’Estree for making our stay so enjoyable and relaxing. We look forward to returning again!

The converted 18th century building oozes charm and history which is enhanced by the warm welcome. Elena was a delightful host for whom nothing was too much trouble. The reception is bilingual and very helpful. The Continental Breakfast is in a small room but with so much choice, one never needs to leave hungry! We were able to leave our suitcases and rucksacks in a secure place while we visited the city during the day which is so convenient. Rooms are well equipped but very small so a couple with large cases might find challenges. If you can get a room facing the street, you will have a bit more space and a view but it is a very quiet restful place..
Relais Hotel du Vieux Paris

When my adult writer/musician son asked if we could stop by the “Beat Hotel” during our time in Paris this past July 12-18 I googled Relais Hotel du Vieux. To my surprise the hotel was fully operational, renovated and had some pretty good reviews offering very reasonable rates as well. No contest, I booked it. Upon arrival the morning of June 12 we were warmly greeted at the door by Raymond, personable and Uber-competent manager and all around font of helpful information for navigating Paris. He reserved restaurant slots for us from pre trip emails and airport transport as well. I had requested early check in and that was very generously made available for two exhausted red-eye Chicagoans. Our two bijou rooms were charming with toile wallpaper and matching drapery, en suite bathrooms nicely appointed, coffee/tea hot pot provided. Full breakfast in the breakfast room behind Reception was included in our on line reservation and it was delicious served from the petit kitchen adjoining by the lovely ladies who double as housekeeping staff. The decor of public areas of the hotel are tastefully decorated with elegant wall coverings and comfortable furniture, the hotel is spotlessly clean. Jean Marie, grandson of the hotel owner, shares managing duties with Raymond and could not have been more willing and capable along with Raymond, in catering to our wants and needs. He responded to my son’s interest in a rare book on display at Reception on the beat history by mentioning his grandmother has the last few remaining copies of such. Negotiations progressed and my son is now in possession of a copy of this book and as a book collector, thrilled with it. Such personal and willing care of this caliber is rare. We were over the moon with our stay at Relais Hotel du Vieux in the 6th Arr. on tiny rue Git La Coeur, adjacent to Grands Augustins right on the Seine, across from Notre Dame Cathedral and within walking distance to Blvd St-Michel, Blvd St-Germain as well as many of the major Paris museums and sites. Anyone choosing to stay at this hotel would be fortunate indeed. Needless to say, we would return in a New York minute!
