Guest UserWe stayed at the Floral Hotel beside Dream Valley during Chinese New Year, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable hotel experiences we’ve had anywhere in China.
While the location is already a major advantage being just steps away from Dream Valley and close to the other Hengdian attractions - what truly sets this hotel apart is the heart and personality behind it. This is not a typical boutique hotel. It’s a place shaped by the owners’ passion, taste, and genuine care for their guests.
From the moment you arrive, you can feel that the hotel is a labor of love. The architecture and interior design are beautifully curated, with many pieces collected by the owners over the years. Walking through the courtyard and hallways feels like stepping into a different era, almost like entering a scene from the Song dynasty. Yet the rooms themselves are fully modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. It’s a rare blend of historical atmosphere and contemporary convenience, and it creates a sense of immersion that you simply don’t get at most hotels in the area.
Even though we didn’t stay in the hotel’s best room, we were extremely comfortable. The beds are very firm - something to keep in mind depending on your preference - but we slept well. The room features a large, modern soaking tub that’s perfect after a long day of walking through the film sets and a separate bathroom and shower. And one of our favorite touches was the smart projector in the room, which turns a simple movie night into a cinematic experience. It’s small details like these that show how much thought has gone into making the stay enjoyable.
But the true highlight of our visit was the hospitality. The owners are warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making guests feel welcome. On one rainy day, when there wasn’t much for us to do outside, they invited us into their main hall for tea. They set up a traditional tea table with a heated brazier, creating a cozy, intimate atmosphere that felt like visiting old friends rather than staying at a hotel. They kept bringing local snacks: seeds, small rice cakes, and even freshly cooked sweet potato - all offered freely and with genuine kindness. My wife and kids loved every bit of it. What could have been a dull, rainy afternoon became one of our favorite memories of the entire trip.
Their kindness extended beyond that moment. At one point, we accidentally made a mess in our room (entirely our fault) and the owners helped us clean up without a hint of frustration or judgment. It’s rare to find that level of patience and understanding, especially during the busy holiday season.
Breakfast each morning was another highlight. The hotel has a local cook who clearly takes pride in her craft. The dishes were fresh and simple but full of flavor, prepared with care and attention. You could feel her pride in everything she served. It’s the kind of breakfast that makes you slow down and appreciate the home cooked moment, rather than rushing through a buffet line like at larger hotels.
All in all, this hotel was a true win for us. The personal touches, the warmth of the owners, the passion of the cook, and the unique atmosphere created by the carefully collected antiques all come together to create an experience that stands out among the many boutique hotels in the area. In fact, I would say it’s probably better than any other hotel around Hengdian. It’s rare to find a place that feels both deeply rooted in local culture and fully equipped with modern comforts, but this hotel manages to do exactly that.
We would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Hengdian, whether for the parks, the film sets, or simply a relaxing getaway. And if we ever return to the area, we would stay here again without hesitation.

Guest UserWhen visiting Hengdian, hotel prices near the scenic area are relatively high, so I chose to stay in Dongyang city center. It's about a 30-minute drive to Hengdian, making it very cost-effective. There's a parking lot outside the hotel with about 10-20 spaces, which is convenient for those driving. The rooms were clean, tidy, and well-equipped, making for a comfortable stay. Check-in was efficient; I had originally booked two adjacent rooms, but they weren't fully cleaned when I arrived in the afternoon. The front desk registered the room numbers and told me to check in later that evening. When I returned that evening, the original rooms had been reassigned, and the hotel proactively upgraded our room free of charge. Their service was excellent, and overall, I was satisfied with the experience.

Super fun! This was one of the theme hotels that were hidden on the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street set. Appropriately, the Rosslyn Hotels' brand icon is the Landlady from Kungfu Hustle.
Upon arrival, you check in at the North Gate's Tourist Services Desk. The concierge welcomed me with a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and asking me to add their butler (Housekeeper Xiao Xiao) to my WeChat. If I needed anything, I just had to text the Housekeeper Xiao Xiao (who was super helpful with all my questions (in English) during my stay). Then the bellhop whisked me away, via golf cart, to my hotel.
There were several hidden hotels, with different themes, throughout the set.
The bellhop took me through an unassuming door among into what looked like an empty set, and up an elevator to the room floors.
The walkway offered a lovely view of the Ming Qing Palace set next door. The rooms were supposed to be themed as Guangzhou and Hong Kong in the 70s and 80s, but could easily pass for old Shanghai.
The room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, the shower has nice and hot and with fantastic water pressure. The room has some of the largest closet space that I have seen in any hotel. The WiFi worked without the need to register a local cellphone number (I've found that many other hotels, in China, offered free WiFi, but you need to verify with an ID code text to you. The texts never come through to my U.S. phone number, so I have never been able to take advantage of free WiFi; that is until I got to this hotel.) The little details were delightful surprises around every corner. They always refer to guests as ”laoshi” (an honorific of teacher, or master, bestowed to actors) or as ”starlet”. Not gonna lie, I really wanted to take home the pair of the room's bone china cups.
The stay also comes with very decent breakfast buffet that had both Chinese and western dishes. They will even make you fresh wontons and noodle soups to order. The restaurants in the park are not great and quite expensive by China's standard. I recommend loading up at the more tasty free breakfast to power through the day.
The hotel's location was very convenient for touring Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street; which had very lively evening shows. (As you walk through the streets, look at the stores' signs and test your TV shows and movie knowledge by finding the Easter eggs.) The Qing Ming Palace Set is across the street from the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street's South Gateon the other side of the park (don't worry, it's not that far). To access the other sets, you can take their shuttle, but it does not come around very often. It's more efficient to get a Didi.
Overall, it was a magical stay of being in the movies.

Five stars, highly recommend! The tent experience was absolutely divine 🌌.
The environment is tranquil and stunning, backed by green mountains with expansive views. During the day, you're fully immersed in nature, creating an incredible atmosphere. The tent itself was clean, tidy, and odorless, with spacious and comfortable interiors. The air conditioning works great, and the private bathroom has plenty of hot water. The bedding is soft and luxurious, perfectly blending glamping romance with hotel comfort – no feeling of being rudimentary here at all.
The butler service was thoughtful and attentive, responding promptly and meticulously to every need. The surrounding scenery is incredibly photogenic and super healing. It's the perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle, offering maximum relaxation and healing. An excellent choice for a getaway, I'll definitely be back!

Great location within the Hengdian Studios (Shanghai Street). Little far from the main Shanghai street attractions but it means a quieter evening as less tourists venture there. Voucher includes access to many popular attractions within Hengdian studios. Staff and actors are very friendly and helpful

Guest UserThe bathroom came with a complete set of kids' amenities: Hello Kitty toothbrushes, small slippers, children's bathrobes, and soft towels. The front desk also proactively offered a kids' mouthwash cup, snacks, and a sweet tremella soup. The room was spacious, mostly featuring a king bed plus a child's single bed, which was perfect for two adults and one child without feeling cramped. The soft carpet meant kids could safely play barefoot. The breakfast buffet had a baby food section and kid-friendly tableware, with congee, pastries, and steamed eggs suitable for younger children. The front desk staff were very knowledgeable about the scenic area routes and could help explain tips for visiting during off-peak times. Luggage storage was also convenient. Booking the hotel plus a scenic area package offered great value for money, much cheaper than buying tickets separately.

momo)Regarding the 15% discount on tickets: I booked this hotel because I saw this offer. However, when I asked the front desk, they said the hotel doesn't sell tickets for Hengdian World Studios and there are no discounts, advising me to buy them directly on platforms like Trip.com 😂. Just a heads-up for anyone considering this hotel for the same reason!
The hotel's overall environment is quite new, and the facilities are good, especially the hairdryer which works great. However, it's not very close to Hengdian's scenic spots, nor is it close to the lively Hengdian Wansheng Street area. It's too far to walk anywhere. Although there's a bus stop outside, buses are infrequent. You'll rely entirely on taxis to get around, which is very convenient and relatively cheap in Hengdian, usually under 10 yuan per ride, and drivers respond quickly.
There are a few scattered shops downstairs, enough to meet basic needs like milk tea, coffee, convenience stores, and dining. Ordering takeout is also very convenient.
It's very close to Yingdu Hotel, just a 3-minute walk. If you're staying here to see film crews coming and going for makeup, it will be very convenient.

Anonymous UserTo be honest, I was mentally prepared when checking accommodations in Hengdian during the National Day holiday. The room was great, exceeding my expectations. It was large and spacious, with a large bay window offering a wide view of the Ming and Qing Palaces. The cleanliness was also good; I was very satisfied. However, there were some unpleasant aspects. When checking in, I wanted to take two extra bottles of water from the front desk, but was told I couldn't and had to finish the water in the room before getting them. The worst part was finding a large, hard foreign object in my breakfast the next day… I hope they improve their food hygiene and don't just say ”sorry.”

A very good store. It is very convenient to make a reservation. The front desk greets guests as soon as they enter the door, and will greet them again when they meet again. Parking at the door is also very good. There is always a parking space no matter when you come back. If there is no parking space, the front desk will also help us solve it. It's great.

Hangzhou, which was more than 19:00, decided to stay in Hengdian for a few days. I contacted the landlord sister and said that I expected to check in at 23:30. I didn’t expect the landlord sister to reply quickly and help find a parking space in advance. I dragged my family out to play with my luggage. It was too heavy and heavy, and it was late and it rained. Miss sister patiently helped to find a parking space, and was really touched. Miss sister also took the initiative to tell us which snack streets and tourist attractions nearby. The most important thing is that the price is really cheap and the price is very high. The room is new at first glance. The cleaning is very clean. The layout is simple and generous, there is a sense of relaxation at home, the sheets and quilts are changed for each guest, the room has no smell, toothbrushes, disposable face towels, hair dryers, air conditioners and other things are all complete, and there is an elevator. You can see the green mountains from the window. I am in a good mood. I also provided some small snacks. We came back from the Ming and Qing Palace Gardens. We were too tired and too lazy to drive. The landlord also took the initiative to borrow our electric car to eat. Because of the itinerary, I stayed for three days. I have the opportunity to come to Hengdian in the future. Come here, highly recommended. Like like like! ! !
