The Philadelphia Hotel Bella Vista

I stayed at Bella Vista for 2 nights (Sept 1-3) with my boyfriend; I wish I could have stayed longer. We stayed in a second floor suite at the front of the townhouse called Autumn Mist- I would describe the decor as a classy variation on French parlor, which I loved! Very private- we only saw the innkeeper once when they were outside doing a little gardening. If you’re looking for an alternative to a generic, corporate hotel downtown you’ve found it! There are many destinations within 20 minutes walking distance from the inn- Magic Gardens, Termini Bakery, John’s Water Ice, Pats cheesesteaks, Italian market- the inn is perfectly situated in a beautiful centrally located but still residential location. Amenity-wise, the suite had a coffeemaker and supplies, mini-fridge, wine opener and glasses- and that was perfect for our needs. I enjoyed the jetted tub as well. Beautiful inn- and I’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I went to Philly for the weekend to attend a wedding. We happened upon the Bella Vista on Google Maps. It did not disappoint! We stayed in La Grande Suite. It was our favorite place we went all weekend. Basically, you feel like you're on a classy honeymoon in Paris. The room is big and well lit, and tastefully adorned. You can even hear church bells. We chose to eat lunch inside the room one of the days because it was better ambience than any restaurant could afford. I miss it already.

Highly recommend the boutique Hotel Bella Vista in Philadelphia. The rooms were charming-a great mix of antiques and more contemporary art –and filled with sunshine. A kitchenette in the room worked for morning coffee. Perfect location for the Italian Market, historic Philadelphia and all the hip restaurants in the area. Another bonus: only a block from an incredible Italian bakery with amazing cannolis.

if there’s one good thing that came of my apar**ent catching on fire, it’s that i got to discover this gem a few blocks away. seriously, when relatives come to visit, i will be only recommending this place. it has the personality of an airbnb with the professional standard of a hotel. ground coffee in a cute little jar! none of that impersonal keurig nonsense! and of course the decor in the “la grande” room is delightful! i’ll admit to spending a while taking… certain photos in the beautiful mirror. check in process was also unbelievably smooth. they just email you a code and you use it. perfect for people like me with social anxiety. though i did not stay here under the most ideal circumstances, it provided a sense of hominess, comfort, and care in a dark hour. isn’t that really what hospitality should strive for?

SERIOUSLY.... IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE BEST PLACE IN PHILLY TO STAY... YOU HAVE FOUND IT HERE! This was seriously one of the best visits I have EVER had to Philly. My son and I stayed in the Summer Breeze Suit and the view was AWESOME! You can see the Philly skyline from the smaller bed, and that bed was super comfy!! We also got to meet little Sebastian (the kitty) he ended up following us to our room and that was Soooo adorable!! He was precious!! The room was beautiful! It was clean, it was big, it was peaceful. After staying here I can honestly say that I will not stay anywhere else in Philadelphia but here. We will absolutely, without a doubt, be back! We LOVED the location! It's within walking distance from soooo many places! Bakery's, restaurants (check out Morning Glory for breakfast.... AMAZING!), places for cheese steaks , South st... we didn't have a dull moment at anytime! We also felt really safe there . We did have a rental car but we parked it in a paid parking lot down the street from the B&B (Washington Ave.) and didn't use it till we left for the airport. We walked at all different times of the day and night. Any interaction with Brittany we had was always friendly. I didn't meet her in person but we did communicate through email. She was quick to respond Everytime. I love how easy they make check in and how much privacy they give you. I could literally go on and on about how awesome this place was. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Bella Vista!

Met some old friends we hadn't seen for almost 20 years (both raising kids). Got stuck on the Schuylkill but the staff held our table & food (Swordfish, Bass, Salmon & ＜something else＞) was perfect! Staff was friendly, helpful & kind(!). Our friends work in financial firms while my husband & I work for Nonprofits. When our friends first suggested 4 Seasons, we were a bit dubious. To be honest, I expected snooty staff & enormous bills, our friends insisted on paying so I don't know the bill amount. (Menus don't have costs printed, which I generally *dislike intensely* & feel is pretentious i.e. "Who cares about the cost?! Let's have fun!" Well, I care. I knew our friends were likely to insist on paying & didn't want to burden them unnecessarily.) BUT, Staff was gracious, friendly & kind. They helped us find free street parking & tried to walk us the half block to the car because we had no umbrella & it had just started to drizzle. Honestly they couldn't have been nicer. Summary: Fabulous food (I had Blackened Swordfish & a Meyer Lemon Cheesecake Tart - both excellent. Friendly, helpful staff. I had come straight from work & felt extremely under-dressed in my "remote work" Blue Jean's & sweater but staff didn't blink an eye. Never anything but helpful & friendly. (I'm trying to write "Jean's & sweater & Spellck keeps changing it to "Jean's". That's not right. I showed up in sloppy Jean's & a sweater but staff acted like I was wearing the Dress & heels everyone else was wearing (well, the women at leasPA. But it fit. Say what you want -- I've always found Philly to be a very friendly place.

Room was spacious. Very private. Could not tell anyone else was staying. The location is close to the Italian Market and easy walking distance of many good restaurants. Very clean rooms and the hotel common areas.

Very clean room, comfortable bed, ac/heat, tv, mini refrigerator, and microwave; great for a "historical escape", antique lovers, or a romantic getaway; it is walk-up stairs only, we were on second floor; this is a town house, not a traditional hotel, with no elevators, front desk, room service, and low chance of extending stay for an extra night, due to small number of rooms.

My wife and I recently spent a few wonderful days at the Bella Vista. We stayed in in the spacious Summer Breeze room. The Bella Vista is an elegant boutique hotel with I believe only three rooms. There is no lobby or check in to speak of, we were provided with a code to access the front door and our room. The Summer Breeze room was well lit and had lots of windows. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom clean as well, nice towels and had a good shower head. The room had areas to sit and eclectic furnishings. The artwork throughout the room and hotel provided particular enjoyment and interest. The antique looking floor to ceiling mirrors in the hallways are a nice touch. The area around the hotel felt safe, lots of people walking kids in strollers. Neighborhood seems to be up and coming, love all the brickwork. The Morning Glory diner has excellent breakfast (homemade ketchup…oh yum). Right next door is Dante and Luigi’s Italian restaurant. We are returning to Philly specifically to dine here again, it was a spectacular experience. Great food, oh my god the sauce. Great service, various rooms, tall ceilings. We didn’t realize it at first glance, the exterior is unassuming but it is beautiful inside with a really classic old school feel.
