Hotels in Por Bay, Phuket

I stayed with my wife, sister, brother-in-law, and nephew in this hotel between December 30th, 2022, and January 2nd 2023. The rooms and facilities were very good, especially when you compare the level of service to the price you paid (50$ a night per room, including breakfast! And on new year’s eve!) Breakfast menu is average and includes an adequate numbers of options and variations. The pool is beautiful, clean, and spacious. But its only problem is being understaffed; there was only one guy who’s in charge of food and beverages as well as the towels! And the poor guy had to walk all the way up across many flights of stairs to get each order from the kitchen! He’s a humble and very helpful guy by the way, so be good and patient with him, Kasim you are the best! The hotel is isolated a little, but they provide free bus trips to Old Phuket Town on daily basis. We had a rented car so we had more freedom to move. Be careful while strolling at night, because you’re literally in the middle of a jungle, there are many kinds of insects and strange creatures roaming in and around the place at night, including billions of mosquitoes! Anyway! I’d definitely love to pay it another visit when I’m in Phuket next time, but only if I have a car or if I’m planning on having secluded time with my wife in the arms of nature.

Location: quite difficult to locate, some bolt drivers got lost trying to find the entrance Check in: was a breeze, but had to pay a deposit of 5000baht which we were not informed of even in trip or confirmation email, i wish this was more transparent. It will only be returned to you during check out after housekeeping staff check your room( it will be deducted any item is damaged or missing) - After check in, shuttle will bring you up as the rooms are location on top, lobby at the bottom of the hill. The shuttle was very dangerous , if you are with luggage, going up the hill theres no buckle to hold on to your luggage if you do not hold on to it tight enough, it will just roll off the shuttle , we were also not warned about the steep slope. ＞ our room was located in the middle of the blocks, so the shuttle dropped us at the bottom and we had to climb the stairs with our luggages, the staff did not want to help us carry at first. - no shelter at all at the lobby, if its raining, then you’ll have to walk under the rain to the shuttle. - you can request the shuttle to drive you from your room to the lobby/vise versa as it is not really convenient with the hill and STEPS. -The first 2 days, staff was fine, all good driving us up and down whenever we called, then out of a sudden, they asked us to use the ‘shortcut’ to our room. Did not specify why, but we rejected after walking the FLOCK OF STAIRS for a day, they were at least 5 stories steep mind you. - if you do not wish to take the stairs, you may walk up/ down the hill, which is VERY dark during night time. Check out: worst day of all, they called your room at 1145 to rush you to check out, said will send a shuttle to OUR ROOM but did not specify which block they will be waiting at, we waited but no one came to our room. After waiting for 5mins? We are unsure if we should carry our luggages up or down to the different pickup point, so i used the staff phone outside to phone the lobby to clarify. The staff answering the phone did not even bother to listen to my question, she just answered, ‘check out? Yes ok we will send a shuttle’ then i asked again, WHICH BLOCK SHOULD I WAIT AT?? And she replied me ‘CHECK OUT YES OR NO?’ I said YES, then she just said OK and ENDED MY CALL. In the end, we had to carry our down luggage, without any help, up the steep stairs, and the shuttle WASN’T even there. We waited for extra 5-10mins before the shuttle came. check out: at the lobby, had to wait 10mins for housekeeping to check our rooms before we can check out successfully and get our deposit back. At the same time I had already feedback my encounter to the manager at the lobby, which said she will take care of if later. She’s fine, she apologized. ＞ and finally it was our turn to collect the deposit, the same lady who pickup and ended my call, called out to me. ‘NI HAO NI HAO( hello hello in mandarin) I was so offended, not every asian looking person can understand mandarin and she could have spoken to me in english cause I spoke to her manager in english right? Its obvious that she did not want to speak to me probably cause i feedback about her. All in all, i will not recommend this hotel. Thank you.

A nice modern clean hotel. I stayed here with my daughter and used it as a launch pad to the port where Phi Phi tours depart from. The good: Helpful check in, including for organising our tour. Clean and modern. Nice rooms, bathrooms and quiet central air. A top Chinese restaurant attached to the lobby. They had a street food popup rooftop restaurant. The views in the evening were stunning with bush on one side and nightlights on the other. Once you get over the 200 baht charge, the hotel taxi to the old town was very nice. A free shuttle I didn't use - only twice daily, and just to the Central mall. They had connecting rooms, which can be tricky to find. The bad: It's a bit far from things. There is no balcony at the room. The menu prices listed exclude tax and service.. a pet peeve. There was no facility to charge to the room. Paying by credit card in the restaurants they kept setting to the foreign card currency, via some third party with a poor conversion rate. It was a real struggle just to simply get a charge in Thai Baht. The pool is very small but has a nice view. The gym looked pretty good but I didn't use it. Would I stay there again? Yes for sure.

The door n the wall not thick enough to cover everybody shouting on the coriddor and the drunken people late at night. The location near the mall n bagla road got night market, bars, restaurants amd night livr

Check in was swift/ prompt. Hotel lobby is always kept clean. Room is spacious with balcony facing poolside and has bathtub, perfect for a good soak before getting some good sleep. Patong beach is just 350m/ 5mins walk. If you’re adventurous do to walk further to Patong boat pier (650m frm hotel) Bigger 7-11 store right in front of the Patong beach which has fresh daily pastries/ bakes and ready-to-eat salad bowls (very fresh if you get them early morning, right after your morning beach walk) Many food/ restaurants/ cafes available just on the long stretch of Patong beach. Walking distance to Bangla Rd too. Hotel provides clean beach towel and umbrella too so helpful/ useful during my 4 days stay as the Sun was too hot, and I’d sit 2hrs on the beach to read my book and gazed at the sunset. Highly recommend this for solo traveler, safe neighbourhood and value for money.

It was a very beautiful and relaxing stay. We had the Senses Suite which came with a jacuzzi and ample room space with living hall, balcony etc. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. Everything is good except for the location which was quite far from the beach as the place is located on a hill top. Nevertheless this is compensated with a complimentary shuttle service which goes to Patong beach and shopping mall, Jungceylon. By foot, you will need 15-20 minutes to walk but by car, about 8 minutes. The swimming pool is huge and very beautiful overlooking the sea and town. Overall it was a really good stay.

The AC was definitely way too loud and the chairs to sit outside need replacement! But the staff was kind and helpful and the atmosphere was great

I recently had the opportunity to extend my stay at Thavorn Beach Village Resort and Spa Phuket due to a missed flight, and I must say it turned out to be a delightful experience. The hotel staff was extremely helpful in accommodating our last-minute request for an extra night, ensuring a seamless transition to a new room. Although our new room was located further up the hill, away from the beach, it was a luxurious haven. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities one would expect from a high-end resort. The panoramic views from the room were stunning, making up for the slight inconvenience of having to take a slow-moving roller coaster car to the lobby area. Speaking of the facilities, I can confidently say that they are nothing short of excellent. The resort boasts an array of amenities catering to various interests and preferences. Whether it was lounging by the pool, indulging in spa treatments, or taking part in the recreational activities offered, there was never a dull moment during our stay. One aspect that truly stood out during our extended stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were warm, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. From assisting us with our luggage during the room change to offering helpful suggestions for local attractions, their attentiveness and professionalism were commendable. Despite the unexpected change of plans, Thavorn Beach Village Resort and Spa Phuket remained a five-star experience. The comfort and luxury of the room, combined with the outstanding facilities and the hospitality of the staff, made it a memorable stay. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and indulgent getaway.

Firstly, they served delicious cuisines that you simply have to try. I mean for me, all the meals I had there was perfect. Dinner - Asian Buffet Breakfast - Breakfast Buffet Lunch - ala-carte at Beach Restaurant Bad thing: Splash Jungle Waterpark needs EXTENSIVE maintenance. If you planning to ride on those “giant” slide, I recommend you not! It causes my back to be itchy and is this acceptable? When was the last you guy sanitise the tube? Is it still up to the standard set and how will you ensure the ridding the tube will not cause any repercussion to its user?

Convenient location: Perfect for a pre-flight stay, with close proximity to the airport and free transfer provided. Spacious room: The king bed option offered ample space, and the balcony was especially useful for drying dive gear. Cleanliness: The room was spotless and well-maintained. Basic amenities: Hair dryer, and daily bottled water were appreciated touches. Cons: No room service: Absence of room service could be limiting, especially for late arrivals or early departures. Restaurant selection: The menu's lack of variety might not satisfy all tastes. Panphuree Residence ticks many boxes for a convenient airport stopover, particularly with its cleanliness, spacious rooms, and free airport transfers. However, the limited food options and lack of room service may be drawbacks for some.
