We stayed at the “Campanile” hotel in Caldas de Rainha for three nights during October. It was a pleasant stay, in a modern hotel with easy access to main roads, a supermarket near-by, free parking and a room with all amenities. As is the custom lately there is only soap no shampoo, so bring some. The location is in a convenient spot for day trips to close destinations, like the Obidos Castle, the Nazere lighthouse, the Fatima shrine or the Buddha Garden of Eden; all these are within an hour drive. There was a misunderstanding between ******* and the hotel regarding the cost of breakfast. We had seen “included” when booking, but the hotel asked for pay; ******* promised to reimburse us for the cost (6 Euro/day/person). We would recommend this hotel for its location, amenities and low cost.

It is a hotel that is not surprisingly high on TripAdvisor. There is also a work desk, rooms are large, and the bus terminal and station are within walking distance. Supermarkets and cafes are also nearby. The hotel itself may be a bit old, but it has been renovated and you can spend it comfortably. Caldas itself is a very small town, so there was no taxi waiting for the station, and I was forced to walk to the hotel. If you are planning to travel by rail, you should be careful.

What a wonderful apartment to stay in, perfectly arranged, spotlessly clean and fully equipped, a very comfortable place right in the center of Santarem and yet totally peaceful. We cannot fault it, added to that Alexandra who received us is just a gem. She is very warm, welcoming and professional who would go out of her way to make sure you have the best experience during your stay at Villa Graca. We will be back and would recommend it 100%.
