The apartments were nothing at all like the photo they use to advertise the listing. Very tired & quite cramped would best describe them. In addition the layout of the complex - a number of buildings joined by long dark corridors makes getting around very inconvenient - you literally need a map! Quite a slog to get to a boot-room & the reception (which is all locked up & not even manned in the evening!). The WiFi was totally non-existent & considering that (on the two different mobile phone networks my wife & I had), mobile data in Sainte-Foy is extremely limited, it meant that even trying to check emails was very difficult, & anything remotely more demanding than that almost impossible! If you are seduced by images of the hot-tub & swimming pool area forget it! The pool was too cold to be comfortable. The hot-tub was drained down for the whole duration of our stay with a sign (which looked very much like an excuse) saying there were sanitation issues. There were signs everywhere indicating that under 16's were most unwelcome, & the staff were rude, disinterested, & looked like they were not enjoying themselves. Considering that Sainte-Foy is very much based upon its family-friendly credentials this place stinks & I wouldn't dream of going near it again! It has one redeeming feature - its location; other than that everything was dire, & for £3000 for the week totally & utterly unacceptable!

While in an excellent location, the Residences Les Fermes de Sainte Foy are in dire need of a makeover. Navigating the facility requires Google Maps. Don’t expect helpful signage. Wifi was awful. Paid €189 for the signature package. Didn’t get the mid-week rubbish pickup nor proper size rubbish bags for the receptacles upon arrival. To top it off, an unbelievably loud mechanical noise continued for 3 nights. While it was eventually fixed, never received a response from GM after reporting the issue via email.

I so wanted to write a good review for this place but I have had a terrible experience with them after our stay. The stay itself was comfortable, the staff were quite unprofessional and not helpful but we put that down to the language barrier and used the local tourism office for questions. The main issue is the £400 deposit I had to pay. I wasn’t aware this would be the case but sorted it out so I could pay on my Revolut. The problems started here, they couldn’t work the card machine and made us come back later, which we did and still had issues. I finally paid it and queried on many occasions when I’d receive the deposit back. The staff told me 24 hours after we leave once the room was checked. It has now been 6 weeks and I STILL have not received my money!!!!! I am not a rich person and it took us a while to save to be able to do the holiday. I have queried with the staff and had over 20 emails back and forth, providing various account details in order to be paid back and still nothing! I am struggling to understand why they are finding it so hard to give me my money back. This whole experience has been upsetting and stressful and I don’t know what to do next to get my money but I know for sure I will not be returning. Sort it out!

Could easily be a 5* with a few simple issues rectified. The rooms were comfortable, tidy and provide everything you need for a self catering trip. Cleanliness let’s them down a little, dust, crumbs and general bits under the beds and sofa highlighted a lack of attention to detail. The public areas were warm and welcoming, the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The reception area closes for a period during the day which makes accessing the spa a navigational nightmare. Whilst each block is joined they are ultimately separate and although you can get from one end to the other, you do require a degree in cartography to successfully navigate the rabbit warren of lifts and corridors. The Spa could be fabulous, however the most of the lockers are broken, the pool is very cold, and the Jacuzzi baths were only open on 2 of our 6 days in the hotel. There are 2 steam rooms and 2 Sauna’s, although only 1 of each were on during our stay and they can get quite busy. Cracking bars, restaurants and small convenience stores are within 2 minutes walk of the apartments which makes the catering side of things very easy. I would advise anyone self catering to take things like Nespresso style coffee pods, tea, sugar, salt & pepper etc. basics like this are not found in the apartment. Similarly, additional toilet rolls are not provided although there was a single roll in each toilet. Beds are comfy and very warm, with additional blankets and pillows for anyone staying on the sofa beds in the lounge area.

These guys claim to be a 4* establishment, it’s far from that! It’s more like a 3*. We had a downstairs and an upstairs. The apartment was a really good size but cleanliness is an issue. There were dog hairs everywhere on the bathroom floor. Long hairs on the bed and pillows. I had to ask for a new pillow, reception were very good at sorting this out for me. The crockery was all chipped. The sink in the en-suite bathroom was blocked, no one came and sorted it when asked to. The bathroom fittings were old and chipped and mouldy in some places. Not what you expect from a 4*. The location is perfect. Not sure we’ll stay here again, we’ll stick to the other Chalets that we stay at when in Sainte Foy, this was a one off as it’s pet friendly and not many other places are around there.

I kind of want to keep this place to myself and not overly promote but I just have to share. What an amazing find, beautiful apartment complex with amazing views of the mountains to the front or pistes to the rear. Amazing accommodation with every detail covered. Warm, spacious and homely. We stayed in a 2 bed with additional sofa bed in lounge area, more than enough space for the 4 of us. Accommodation was fresh and well decorated, an en suite in our room and separate bathroom/toilet for the 2 others. Kitchen incredibly well stocked with everything you’d need, combi cooker, hob, dishwasher, a load of crockery and utensils, as well as a nespresso and filter coffee machines, kettle, toaster, very well thought out use of space. Enormous outside balcony. Spa facilities are fabulous and reception staff brilliant. Order bakery goods by 6pm and they’ll be hanging on your door by 8am the next day. 5 minute walk to the slopes, shops, bars, restaurant. Perfect location for a perfect holiday whether you ski or not. Can’t fault it, will definitely be back next year
