We got a really good rate through the Trip website. Kelsey on reception changed our room because there was no bath in the first room. The staff at the hotel were very smartly dressed. The food at breakfast was excellent. We are two nights in Macleod. Again the food was excellent. We would recommend this hotel. The only negative was if you hadn’t booked a spa break you had to pay £30 each to use the pool.

We have always nipped to the coniston for a quick night away! Close to home fab spa, feels like you’re miles away from home! Last time I stayed with mother in law and had a few problems with house keeping mentioned it to staff, thought be ok as Been a couple of months saw a deal to up grade to stay with hubby went along lovely relaxing spa as always I’m soo glad we didn’t pay for the upgrade as so disappointing with the room.. to say you can get a good standard hotel at a better quality is unreal!! An upgraded deluxe room should be deluxe I can’t see how.. ? They was marks all over the head board and the house keeper hadn’t checked the bedding as big rips in the duvet cover, not just 1, mold all by the door and onto the Lino. No one especially guests should breathe in mold spores!! I did do an on line review from the hotel with no response.. but to me it’s not 4 star it’s at best 2 stars for its rooms ! For how expensive it is! The evening meal was nice and the young gentleman was a pleasure to have excellent service from him .

This hotel really is just average. We travelled as a group- 4 rooms celebrating a family birthday. The staff are on the whole miserable, lack engagement and at times rude. One particular lady at check in made the worst first impression. When arriving at 2.30pm I asked if we could check in, her response was curt. Check in at 3pm, no other conversation! We ordered champagne in the bar, it wasn’t chilled, which for £75 is ridiculous- an Ice bucket wasn't available only a wine chiller which only keeps bottles chilled it doesn’t actually chill them. The restaurant food was good but overpriced really for what it was. Although the staff at dinner were a lot friendlier than any other time. The hotel had a wedding on and it does really spoil the relaxing atmosphere of the terrace and the small bar area which is overrun with wedding guests so as a hotel guest there wasn’t space for us to have a drink late afternoon. The rooms are clean and spacious but somewhat basic, we had deluxe ones and they are looking tired in places. Breakfast was nothing spectacular, the poached eggs were cold and the hostess again was unwelcoming and rude. The housekeeping staff line the hallways stood on their phones without even a hello! All in all the hotel is just average, which is a shame because the grounds are beautiful!

Our 2nd stay and third visit as we came for my surprise birthday meal October 2023. Room 52, tea and coffee, TV, heating, hairdryer, airy, clean with a comfortable bed and a nice walk in shower bathroom. Plenty of storage space for clothing for our 6 night stay. Restaurant. You need to book for your evening meal and if you get a window seat you are treated to a wonderful view over the lake. Great menu and the food is delicious. Breakfast menu is fabulous. The eggs florantine and royal are just amazing. Staff are ALL brilliant. The hotel spa is bookable in advance and you can spoil yourself with treatments and outdoor whirlpool. Definitely recommend and we will return again.

I did the spa and stay package which was a birthday gift. I had a fabulous time in the spa, the highlight being the infinity pools which have amazing views. I was lucky that the sun was shining so I spent most of the afternoon making the most of the lovely outdoor space. I had afternoon tea followed by the mud rasul treatment which was something very different and relaxing. My room was very spacious and comfortable with nice toiletries and goodies on the tea/coffee station. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and my server was very attentive. Finished my stay with another spa session. So wonderful in the infinity pool at 9am, very peaceful and I was lucky enough to be joined by a couple of pheasants. Definitely recommend a visit.

Our room had the most beautiful lake view and was very comfortable. All staff were friendly and very helpful. The thermal experience spa is the best spa that I had been to with a variety of clean and relaxing facilities. We particularly enjoyed the tranquil Himalayan sauna and the outdoor jacuzzi which looked out at the beautiful views. In our package, we had dinner at the restaurant with a View and breakfast too which was very delicious. Although we only stayed one night for my Fiancé birthday, there were many activities such as clay pigeon shooting and a circular lake walk which we really enjoyed. Thank you Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa for a lovely stay and we would love to visit again.

We stayed over in the hotel and used the spa, are dinner and breakfast in the morning. I don’t have one bad word to say about anything, the staff are all so lovely and accommodating plus the food is absolutely amazing. Rooms are lovely and cosy, we had a peaceful nights sleep, shower was great, lovely mini toiletries to take home! 100% would recommend to anyone, worth every penny!

Pros: Lovely people. Good food. Food served quickly. ‘The View’ restaurant manager is excellent. Great views. Cons: The EV charging stations don’t work. The reception staff had no idea how the EV stations work. The housekeeping staff don’t leave two towels when there are two guests. The reception staff don’t answer the phone when you call for a towel. They don’t respond to voicemail messages either. The lady who greets you at The View dining room has a brusque manner. The toilet roll holder in our bathroom was broken. The room was dusty. Brown sludge came out of the hot tap.
