The Mill surroundings is idealic. I would imagine on a summers evening, sipping wine at the front or rear gardens, whilst watching the river run by would make a fantastic end to the day. The staff were absolutely first class, & if you eat, the desserts are to die for. The interior is welcoming, & well kept. Ps if your lucky enough to overlook the river, watching the wildlife first thing in the morning is a must.

I don't really understand what planet the proprietors of this establishment are on....but if you want to stay in an hotel where there is a television in the room, then don't stay here. That's it folks no TV!! I can't think of any hotel I have stayed in ever! where a television is not provided as a basic requirement. A bit like having a bed or a flushing toilet! Ok if you like to read in silence or play solitaire or want to watch a movie on your phone or lap top but NO terrestrial Television here!!!

The grounds are the main selling point, so visit in good warm weather. The food was reasonable, the service was good. Plenty of parking and a lovely view of the river. Mid-range pricing helps too. One to go back to.

A really lovely dinner with great food and excellent service.Hard to fault anything. We’ll worth a visit A little expensive but well worth it if you like good food and wine. Fish and venison dishes cooked perfectly. Will defiantly visit again.

The great thing about the mill is location, at the end of a small country road you come upon this unique setting. Having been taken over not to long ago it has undergone a lot of refurbishment, all to the good. We were greeted on arrival by a nice lady and shown to the room (room 4 ) which was on the 2nd floor with 2 windows giving great views of the river Wensum and surrounding fields. There is a large garden area to sit and have a drink or to eat outside. The evening meal was well prepared and filling and obviously a hit with locals as it was very busy but the staff were very efficient and nobody was keep waiting. Breakfast taken in a lovely decorated room. The choice of cereals was a bit limited but the cooked food excellent. What a place to take an evening stroll by the mill pond and watch the bats. The mill has been recommended in The Times newspaper and deserved the mention.

Stopped for food on bank holiday Sunday evening, we were shown a bbq menu and told to sit in the garden and order at the bar when ready. Went to the bar to order and heard other people being offered restaurant or bbq, questioned this and was fobbed off! Went out to wait for food which arrived fairly promptly, we ordered the beef hot dog (which was very cheep quality and not that great) and fries (arrived as chips!) asked for salt and waiter came back with pepper! Had to also ask for some cutlery, never had a check back on the food and didn’t even get given a napkin to wipe our mouthed or hands. Very strange a**osphere not sure I would revisit which is a shame as the garden area was lovely ( music was a bit loud for a peaceful country setting)

The setting is beautiful Hoped there would be a gluten free menu but none they don’t seem to cater for people who don’t eat meat and also have food intolerance. Some vegetarian gf dishes would be nice. Ended up with a very small starter and expensive portion of chips as nothing in the main menu appealed or I could eat.apparently they had run out of fish. I think the food is very over rated and highly priced . Experience not that great Wont be returning.

My husband and I have just spent an idyllic three days at the hotel, the drive up and the first impression was stunning. From the moment we walked in the door and were greeted by Michael we felt welcomed and comfortable. The staff we all amazing and whilst being busy always took time to answer questions or just stop and chat with us if we so chose, no request was either too large or too small. We were shown to our room and our luggage was carried up for us, the room itself was very pretty, clean and comfortable with amazing views over the garden and countryside, and it was kept clean and tidy for us at all times. Mealtimes were lovely, all the food was delicious and presented well, if we asked for any changes these were handled without fuss. The breakfasts were also very tasty. In fact the whole experience could not be faulted. We were able to get some names, so thank you to Michael, Ian, Rachel, Tiffany, Harry, Tegan, Bianca and Siobhan. But also please give a big shout out to all the staff on shifts during our stay. They made it special, we will definitely be coming back.
