GGuest UserThis was our first stay, and we were greeted immediately upon arrival and received kind support throughout our stay, making us feel at ease. We enjoyed making marshmallow sandwiches over a campfire, riding on the swings, and watching the adorable sheep roaming freely on the grounds. Just outside the front door, we could see the sheep, and the children enjoyed feeding and petting them, giving them experiences they wouldn't normally have. The air conditioning in the guest rooms was comfortable, allowing us to relax in a warm space, enjoy the view outside, and sip wine. We would definitely like to stay again. Next time, I'd like to try the hot tub.

GGigidianqianGosho-bo is conveniently located right next to an orange souvenir shop, a common stop on the way from Kyoto to Arima. Upon check-in, guests are asked to change into slippers for use throughout the ryokan. The luggage service is excellent; they bring your bags to your room upon arrival and down to the lobby after check-out, saving you the effort of carrying them up or down stairs. Both breakfast and dinner were generous and delicious. The restaurant boasts a charmingly retro atmosphere, with a vintage feel that is impeccably maintained. The public Kinsen (Golden Spring) bath was wonderful. It's a semi-mixed bath, and my skin felt incredibly smooth after soaking. However, a family member who was with me developed mild allergic reactions like peeling skin and red spots.

CCoCo.ChanelI booked this hotel because it was touted as one of Asia's top 100 onsen hotels for 2025. However, apart from the hot springs being decent, every other aspect of the service was a massive letdown. To begin with, both the kaiseki dinner and the breakfast the following day were truly subpar. The room was dreadfully small. Furthermore, despite inquiring about kimonos (as there were none in the room) with both the front desk manager and a server, who assured us they would send them up shortly and even took our sizes, not a single kimono materialized by the time we checked out the next day. We paid over 7,000 RMB for a family tatami room for four, including breakfast and dinner. At this price point, anyone staying here is simply getting ripped off. There will absolutely not be a second visit, and I also sensed a certain unfriendliness towards Chinese guests.

GGuest UserWe enjoyed this place very much. Elegant, breakfast was tastefully done. Hot springs (gold and silver) are authentic. Can not say more. I wish I could give 5.5 rating.

003232867The hotel's food is excellent, the environment and location are very good, and the shuttle service is very fast, but the hotel does not have a separate hot spring bath, and the pillows in the room are of the same specification, with no choice, which is not very friendly to people who are used to hard pillows.

GGuest UserLike the quaint yet very elaborate ryokan style of living. The onsen may not be as big and fancy as in noboribetsu but it is still comfortable. I subscribed to their dinner and breakfast which was pretty good. I definitely live the wooden bathtub in my room. They have shuttle services to and from Arima Onsen region. The only complain I have is the weak wifi.

CChanEdwinThe service of the staff is superb and way beyond expectation.  I noticed that the yugata for my wife is men’s size and my slipper is women’s size. I hope they can be more prepared on the suitable sizes to be available for guest. The only thing I don't really like is the toilet room inside the Japanese style room. The wall paper has lots of stain spot, smelly and it is not quite comfortable to stay even for a short while to do your thing when you have a need.

JJugenshimaosuiAlthough this is an older five-star hotel, the lobby is spacious and features the traditional five-star amenities, which are well-maintained and appear very clean. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the Shinkansen line. It was raining on the day we arrived, but there's a covered walkway directly from the Shinkansen to the hotel, so we didn't get wet, which was very handy. Check-in was quick, and the staff were friendly. They even informed us about ongoing exterior renovations, mentioning that workers might be passing by at certain times. It turned out to be work on an annex, quite far from our room, but I appreciated the heads-up. We booked a twin-bedded city view room, which was very large and even had a capsule coffee machine, though I couldn't use it as I don't drink coffee. The staff cleaned our room thoroughly every day. For breakfast, you can go to the buffet restaurant on the 4th floor, which offers a good variety of Japanese and Western dishes. The staff there were also very attentive, reminding guests around 10:00 AM that the last seating was at 10:30 AM. Alternatively, you can opt for a set menu on the 5th floor. This is served in a restaurant where the staff wear kimonos and are equally friendly. We had three breakfasts in total and chose the set menu one day; it was simple but tasty. Right next to the hotel is the Herb Garden, which is easily accessible by cable car. A short walk down from there, there's a glass house resembling an indoor rainforest. We enjoyed afternoon tea in a café inside while listening to a piano and violin performance. The hotel is just one subway stop from Sannomiya. It's also easy to walk to the Kitano-cho (Ijinkan Street) area and then to Sannomiya. My only minor complaint was that our room was quite close to the elevator; I would have preferred a room further away. The hotel also offers a direct bus service to Kansai Airport, but it only runs twice a day, at 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM. Since we missed the 11:00 AM bus, we took the subway one stop to the Sannomiya Bus Terminal, which is diagonally opposite Hankyu, where buses run every 20 minutes – also quite convenient.

GGuest User:) Thankful for the hotel shuttle service as the hotel is located after a really steep slope. Both onsen in hotel and the next building are good and clean. :( Amenities didn't include facial cleanser and milk lotion. The pillows are too hard for me. The dinner plate arrangement setting appears to be dated - some of the food containers are old/ worn out with visible scratches on the surface. The menu is in Japanese wordings - will be good to provide English version.

GGuest UserFirst off, this location is a bit out of the way, if you intend to stay close to the downtown...you have to take the ”Portliner” a few stops. No issue for me, but did not realize this when I booked. I chose it because of the onsen / sauna, and I was very satisfied: this was the best sauna / cold tub I had in Japan (so far). Was hotter (and colder) than anything else. The actual hot-tub was good too, but I focus on sauna > cold tub cycles more than anything. Rooms are new and look good, if not a bit small. As expected. Stay for a night if you are on the fence...use the onsen...have a coffee-milk afterwards. You'll feel great. Rooftoop bar / restaurant was nice as well and very friendly staff!
