3-Star Hotels in Kobe

The room was quite spacious and comfortable for Japan standards, with enough room to open two large suitcases without feeling cramped. It's super convenient to get to: just take exit 12 from the JR station, turn left when you see the hotel sign, and take the elevator up. The only downside was the air conditioning only had three settings, and it was too cold. I ended up sleeping at the foot of the bed because the draft from the head of the bed was too strong.

This hotel pleasantly surprised me. I had initially expected it to be average due to the low price, but I was surprised by the elegant style and excellent service. The location is quiet in the heart of the city, and Kobe is not a big city, making it very convenient for getting around. Overall, I highly recommend it. The breakfast was very rich and delicious.

The easiest way to get to the hotel from Kansai Airport is by express bus; it's a 70-minute ride, and you can buy tickets at self-service kiosks at gate 6.

Not sure what has happened to Japan standard in the past couple of years but had called the hotel to confirm that linens are scent free (standard in Japan before) and was told yes. Unfortunately they are not, this new laundry detergent that is slowly spreading throughout Japan is absolutely horrible causing all sorts of allergic reactions (not only to me.) I start having rashes, compromised breathing, and inflammation issues. If it’s the same detergent used back in America, then it might be eco-friendly, but definitely not human friendly. I truly hope that Japan goes back to the way it was before the introduction of some western products filled with harmful chemicals to humans. It is not because you don’t react to it that it is not harming your body, it’s only a question of time and when it does, you won’t know why and there is no turning back. Take it from an Asian American born who was the biggest fan of American marketed products. We do have good products like ECOLAB, which is both, sustainable for the environment without compromising human health. Maybe laundry company should look into that company or simply return to Japanese products before. Good thing thing their pyjama are still scent free so I had to wrap the bed and cover with their pyjama to get through the night.

The Kobe Sannomiya Tokyu REI Hotel boasts an excellent location, just a short walk from Sannomiya Station, making transportation incredibly convenient. It's easy to get to both Kitano Ijinkan and the seaside areas. The surrounding amenities are comprehensive, and the rooms are clean and tidy. It's a highly recommended accommodation choice for independent travelers in Kobe.

The hotel is located right next to the newly opened shopping street, very close to Hankyu Hanshin train station. I saw some reviews mentioning it's a bit far from the subway station. The room, although small, was well-equipped and very good.

Since I arrived close to 10 PM, I didn't have time to explore the surroundings. The public bath was almost empty. The next day, I booked the shuttle bus to the station to head back to Sannomiya. If you're looking for a resort-like experience, this might not be the best fit. The hotel also doesn't offer breakfast, and they charge a bathing fee when you check out.
