I was hesitant due to the bad reviews on here but what an amazing night we had. We booked the suite with dinner & breakfast and everything was stunning! Couldn’t fault it at all! I’m pregnant so on arrival I was given a mock tail♥️ Please do not let the bad reviews put you off - remember you cannot please everyone. Will definitely be returning x

Recently stayed at this hotel and my husband and I had a great time. We were warmly welcomed and given a glass of champagne. We were given suite 20 which was stunning and had tea and coffee facilities. The a**osphere was fantastic same as the staff, food and drinks. Thank you ☺️

My check in at reception was lovely. However, I found the masseuse extremely rude. She collected me from outside the room, her body language and expression were rude and moody. She snatched the sheet out of my hand and shoved it in her drawer without looking at it. I hadn't highlighted any problems so there was nothing to discuss, but she made me feel like me being there was an inconvenience to her. The massage itself was not what I hoped. I felt like it lacked any effort. She didn't ask if the pressure was ok or if I was comfortable etc. I also thought it was strange that there was no music in the room to help with relaxation and mask any noise outside. It was a quiet day, however, towards the end of the massage a group of people had arrived and were very noisy all of which I could here. I had high hopes of my experience at the Crazy Bear as I have really enjoyed visiting the venue in the past. I was looking forward to feeling very relaxed, but unfortunately this was not the case, and I will not be booking or recommending a massage at the Crazy Bear in the future.

It is quirky for sure. Pleasant staff and a nice bar. As other have said the room was funky but far from functional. No side lamps, coffee machine or water. The wet room was exactly that. A swimming pool effect after a shower which would t drain away. We ate Thai - can't complain v nice. It would have scored higher - but the price asked gives the lower score.

Shocking. They should be embarrassed to sell the room and have the prices they do here. Myself and my friend booked this as a Chris**as present for our partners and paid £335 each on a deal that was supposed to be around £500 as it was sold as a deluxe room. When we arrived and checked in at the reception on a double decker bus the staff were lovely and it all felt great. Soon we started to realise it was not what we was expecting. It was no way as theatrical as the website made it look, we were told if we wanted theatrical we should have booked the Thai restaurant rather than the English. I explained that when i called to book in the dates and was asked which restaurant i played it safe for my husband and booked the English as i had not been before and didn't realise the English was a small room of about 10 tables that looked like an old Indian restaurant (sorry to all the beautiful lavish Indian restaurants out there) that had not been upgraded for 30 years and there was nothing Quirky about it at all. We went into the extremely small bar for a drink before the meal to find out that the tables had been reserved which we later found out to be for locals and not people staying at the hotel so you had to sit outside. We were put in room 4 and how this can be described as deluxe i have no idea. The room was so small you could not get down one side of the bed as the curtains took that space and you only had the smallest amount of space at the end of the bed where the door was. We wrongly assumed we would be in one of the rooms in the picture like one with a bath for the deal we had got. The 4 of us decided to try and enjoy our night and enjoy some cocktails and wine throughout the evening to later find out most drinks were around £20 each so our bill for just drinks was £700. We asked if there was any entertainment or music on and s told that the low back ground music in the small bar was the best they had. The morning after we went to breakfast to pay for something hot as it was only continental that came with the room and after waiting 45 minutes we walked out and just told them to cancel it and we left. Save your money and go somewhere else as this was an embarrassment. I run a business and paid for this for 2 clients off ours last year which cost £500 for the one night for each room and i feel so embarrassed i believed the pictures and didn't read the reviews. I have certainly learned my lesson.

Overall service and experience wasn’t up to expected standards. The room rate and cocktails were overpriced, the whole place had an odd, eerie a**osphere. Breakfast wasn’t included, the night staff didn’t action disturbances throughout the night despite several calls to reception. Very disappointing!

Had always wanted to stay at a Crazy Bear so booked a night for my partner's birthday. On arrival we were told to go to the red bus and it was exactly that, we were early for check in but the staff were lovely so we had a drink in the bar while waiting, best cocktails we have ever had and the surroundings were amazing, the attention to detail in the decor was beautiful and a feast for the eyes. When the room was ready we were not disappointed, smaller than it looked on the website but just as quirky as I'd imagined! We had chosen the Thai option for dinner and the food was amazing as was the service especially Ryan who was very attentive. The grounds of this place are deceptively extensive and the attention to detail runs throughout, would be an amazing wedding venue and I have to say although it wasn't a budget option we felt we got excellent value for money and would love to go back again

Upon arrival at The Crazy Bear my partner & I were greeted by a lovely lady, offered a glass of fizz but as we don’t drink alcohol we politely declined but wasn’t offered a substitute - even a coke would of been nice! After being shown to our room, we thought wow. Such a cool place but on closer inspection it’s just really run down & shabby. Wallpaper coming off, broken mirror, chips out of everything & a lot more than just general wear & tear. For the price I expected a lot more - not even tea/coffee/minibar in the room. Cost wise - dinner was an extra £152 for 2 people. 6 soda waters came to £30! Breakfast was an extra £28. So in total we spent £499. This just wasn’t the wow factor we’d anticipated.

Honestly I'm struggling to get my head around the positive reviews of this place. As restaurants and as an experience to go for a drink, Yes it's worth it. The grounds are beautiful, the bar is lovely, attentive staff. Just a walk around the grounds and to go for a drink is enough to get the best aspects of this place. Sadly this is where the positives end. Quite frankly to pay £499 for what's considered one of the best rooms is outrageous. The rooms are tiny, cramped and not fit for purpose. No tea and coffee facilities in the room. Bathrooms with curtains rather than doors. French doors which overlook fake grass up the walls and floor outside?! I've stayed in much better hotels for seriously less. Not worth the price at all.
