Horizon Homestay

One of the best hospitality that I have experienced in Nepal. Homely atmosphere and friendly people. It is truly a home away from home. Would highly recommend if you are travelling to Tansen.

Wonderfull place ! I stayed 2 nights there, the view and peoples are so nice, helpfull and truly listening :) The homestay is very closed to the forest, tansen is a very cute village, it was a pleasure to let myself walking in old street, admire authentic houses during the golden hour... I highly recommended !!

Great comfortable homestay with good wifi and amazing hosts. Tansen is a pretty city and a convenient stopping point going south from pokhara. Not TONS to do there, but very peaceful and good for a day or 2 (supposedly a good stopoing point on the way to bardia NP too). Dani and Janaki were incredibly nice and showed me around the town. I ate lunch with the family and had a great stay. Would recommend coming here to others (though maybe don't go to Lumbini like I did)

*Real homestay. If you take time to eat, to speak with the people living here you would learn more about Nepal than reading tons of books. *Rooms are perfectly cleaned, maintained. It's not "rustic" at all. All the confort is here (homestay doesn't mean rustic). *Tansen is a great city to spend several days. Quiet city with lot of things to explore in countryside around with tons of talking with people. Just sit somewhere in a saturday to understand the true Nepaleese kindness. *I came for 2nd time here fearing that maybe the fantastic memory of my 1st stay would be 'damaged'. It was the opposite. The more you take time with them, the more you love them. Even if you stay just one night, they would try all possible to make your stay pleasant and interact with you. Each day you are with them you build true relationship of confidence. Even if they have tons to do (the guests, their own family life, their projects etc) they would always take time for you. *I know it's not always easy when we prepare travel to choose how long to stay in which city etc. Not a lot of informations on internet (maps not updated etc) about Tansen so often small transit stay... If you have any doubt about your holiday program, choose to stay in the homestay community here instead of being elsewhere in an impersonal hotel with no more to do. Staying with them give you much more.

Dhani and Janeki who run the Homestay are by far the friendliest, kindest, heartful and most welcoming people I have met so far. They will make you feel at home, make sure you don't miss anything and do their best to ensure you have an amazing stay in Tansen. The rooms are all very clean and very neat from which you can enjoy one of the best views in Tansen. The showers are hot and a good wifi! The place is so nice, calm and relaxing. Tansen is an authentic town with old architecture and good local walks. You can enjoy the walk in the forest just behind. It is a warm family and it is good to find humanity. When I return to Tansen, without a doubt, I will be staying here!

Fantastic place to stay! Warm friendly family. Tasty meals Clean comfortable room Wonderful authentic town with fabulous old architecture and good local walks. We had an ensuite room with a private balcony. Amazing views. A seperate terrace for meals with fellow travellers and the family. Felt right at home! You must stay here!!

I had a wonderful and special time at Horizon Homestay my room was spotless super clean and hot water 24 / 7 . The hosts were so kind and polite and very attentive . The view was incredible and a perfect terrace to practice yoga . There’s a beautiful forest just behind with a nice picnic area . I would definitely visit again ! Thanks very much Namaste 🙏

The couple managing the Homestay are by far the friendliest, nicest and more welcoming people I've met so far on my trip. They will make you feel at home, help you with whatever you need (anything from organising tours, best shops, best views etc...) and try their hardest to make sure you have an amazing stay in Tansen. The Homestay itself is nothing short from the couple managing it. Rooms are all very clean, much looked after and offer shared cure little balconies from which you can enjoy one of the best views of Tansen. It's also possible to dine at the homestay for a very affordable price and the food is REAL tasty, no matter if you order Momos, Dal Bhat or Chowmein, you will not regret it! Very tasty breakfast is also included and can be enjoyed overlooking the early morning sun rising over the townscape. Hot showers, which were a plus for me, can be also enjoyed even if a little bit of sun is out! The place is so nice, quiet and relaxing that my initial 3 nights ended up being 5 nights and once again, do not regret a thing! Overall, I think this homestay is by all means UNIQUE & EXCEPTIONAL in every way!!! Should I ever go back to Tansen, I know, without a doubt, where I will be staying! We had a great stay at Horizon Homestay! For most of our stay the rain was super heavy and it was hard to get around, but we were so warmly welcomed that it felt like we were in our own space. The breakfasts were great and next door was a good, cheap and easily accessible restaurant called New Aakriti. I would recommend this to anyone who is staying in Tansen! Note: They are located at the top of Tansen, which means if you are walking down to the bus park or around town, know you'll have to walk uphill to get back to the homestay. Not a problem for us, but a good thing to know!
