Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room is clean and comfortable. Meals are delicious. It's a nice experience to stay at blue lagoon, I'll definitely go back again in the future. The resort has different activities every day and have trip to the sawa-i-lau cave some days or can climb the mountain. Highly recommend.

This is the closest place to paradise. Maybe the outer island is the same, but the difference is that the staff will take the initiative to help you arrange it every day. The activities of the day are different every day, such as taking you out to sea snorkeling in the morning and giving you coconut culture in the afternoon. And almost all of them are free. They will use the most easy-to-understand English and body language exchanges. There are many opportunities for other tourists on the island to meet, and because of the activities, everyone communicates like a neighbor, friendly, and eats. Take their best, and the price is really the cheapest, even if there is only one person at every meal, the black brother will play guitar for you not far away, accompany you with the most beautiful songs in the local area, their Service staff and event staff, we are like family, chat, dance together, go out to sea and play together, I never thought that I would not want to leave this place, anyway, I will definitely come again, here is really worth it! ! !

Barefoot Manta was amazing! We spent 5 nights and had the best time. The staff were incredible, especially the resident marine biologist Rob who was a mine of information and enthusiasm. There are 3 different beaches to snorkel from and the snorkelling was the best we have ever seen, it is a protected marine reserve and we participated in coral planting which was great. The Manta Ray trips happened on 3 of our 5 days, it is a bit of an uncontrolled bun fight with various resorts sending their boats to see the mantas but the Barefoot Manta crew were educated and respectful. The resort is beautiful and has a lovely vibe, the staff were so friendly and helpful. We stayed in a double Bure on the sunset side, it was a permanent tent and it was all that we could have wished for, right on the beach. The meal plan is really expensive by our standards, I would have preferred an al a carte option as I have food restrictions and I found that eating salad and rice for almost every meal was boring and repetitive. The staff did try though, however $40 Fijian for salad and rice was a bit on the nose. Bring snacks! It would have been good if they could have made the tea/coffee available all day and maybe had something available for afternoon tea as it is 6 hrs between lunch and dinner. We do recommend this place.

In addition to the price point, the other is good, the food is also very good, that is, the island is not very big. With the old man and the child, I went to the back of the mountain, very beautiful.

Great service! Great lunch and good dinner! They propose you the snorkelling with the sharks which is amazing! It is must do thing in Fiji and in life! They have also a good diving center and you can dive also with the sharks which is awesome The shared bathroom facility is really clean and new! Just a negative thing is the safari room, the tent room is great idea but it needs some adjustment and if it is windy you feel like you are sleeping after the stars! But If they improve the tents it is perfect! I liked also the cocktails and the guy at the bar was really funny!

Very good outside island hotel, the design is more attentive. The time spent on the island was very relaxed, the meal was served, the breakfast was a buffet mode, and the lunch and dinner were Western food but very delicious. Snorkeling is great. The scenery is great.

We spent an amazing nights at the Octopus island staying in a poppies room which was an absolute treat. We were meant to be in New Zealand but flooding in the north island meant we took a flight to Fiji instead and it was such a good choice. Because we stayed so long and late notice we got a great deal with transfers and meals included. The room was lovely. Nicely decorated, Lots of lovely wood. Good it has a fridge with a few drinks in that were included. It has a private day bed allocated on the beach. Most people who were there were island hopping and lots said the food there was the best they’d had had. We were pleased we made the choice we did it was so relaxing. As the food is from a menu rather than a buffet for most days the menu could have been rather repetitive and limited for a vegetarian but they made a special vegetarian menu for my husband. Offering him lots of options. I’d highly recommend getting involved in the activities. The crab racing was very fun. I came first place. The only disappointment was one day the bingo didn’t run which as there is no entertainment I’d been looking forward to. There are a few games to play like monopoly and cards. But it’s good to have your own entertainment like a card game or books. It’s not a party place really unless the other guests are up for it. That worked for us. Went on a snorkel trip that was lovely. Make sure you reapply sun cream as I managed to sun burn my bottom!! They arranged a proper big boat transport for us there as it was a bit rough and we got the island small boat back to the resort. Don’t hesitate to book. It was so lovely.

Transportation: From vuda Marina, the hotel provides free pick-up and drop-off. Going to other places needs to communicate with the island owner. The boss is super enthusiastic. Going to cloud9 also found his friends to send us. Although the boat to cloud9 is not good, it is very exciting (500fjd a boat) Hygiene: Health is still very clean, Sapporo is around the island after snorkeling, you will bring a lot of sand to the bed. Environment: The environment is great, the beach on the front of the hotel is very garbage, but the beach on the other side of the island is very good. Focus! Focus! Focus! Snorkeling around the island can see turtles, and luckily you can see ”friendly” sharks! Service: Service top! After the explosion of Shangri-La brand hotel (brand hotel is a lot of people, the service staff is not very enthusiastic, even ordering is not positive, water is not given). The service staff on the island will even remember your name to say hello. When there are many people, there are kava welcome parties and bonfire parties. It makes people feel that all aspects are served very thoughtfully. After returning to the main island, the hotel will arrange for you to rent. We emphasized that we have to play the watch (the driver who does not play the watch is slaughtered indiscriminately), the taxi from vuda Marina to Shangri-La hotel is less than 80 dollars, but from Shangri-La to the airport is slaughtered indiscriminately by brand hotel 120 dollars. The website photos makes this look like a luxe stay but the bures have a tired, worn-out feel and need a lot of maintenance. I suspect the pictures were taken fifteen years ago when the resort opened and not much upkeep has been done since. The floors are faded and scratched - a simple refinishing would go a long way. The structure has apparently settled as there are gaps in the joints and the bathroom ceiling sags. Speaking of the bathroom, the shower head has corroded out in a few places and delivers a seriously inconsistent spray. Design-wise, the water closet is too small: everything is based on one-meter squares and it's smaller than an airplane toilet. (I hit my head on the door every time I sat down on the toilet). The water heater for our bure is much too small (probably 100 litres) and running out of hot water was the norm. Also no showers back-to-back, the heater needs recovery time. While the photos show all of these wide-open doors to let the outside in, when we suggested it the staff said it was a bad idea because of all the mosquitos. They also helpfully suggested that we don't take a walk to the beach down the road as a number of guests have been robbed while walking down the road. I'm not sure how the website can claim that the bures are 860 square feet; the interior space is 4x8 meters (344 sq feet) and including the outside verandah, the size is 52 sq meters (560 sq feet). Maybe the footprint of the canvas roof is 860 square feet but claiming that as the size of the bure is quite a stretch. On the positive side: The grounds are beautiful, the staff was very helpful and the food was quite good. If the owners had just taken six months of the COVID shutdown to perform some routine maintenance, and if the grounds were in a safer location, this would have been an easy recommendation. As it is, we wouldn't return and I wouldn't recommend it to friends...
