Closest to downtown and free parking is also available. The price is reasonable and very good. It's not new, but it was clean. The price is normal and meals are included. The non-smoking room was not empty and it was a smoking room, but there was no problem with the smell.

The Yufuin Hotel scores highly for its price-performance ratio. The waiters are very attentive, the hotel is clean and tidy, the independent bath is beautiful, and the meals are delicious. It would be nice if the portions could be increased a little! 

This time I decided to stay at a slightly better hotel, so I used this one that opened last year and 4 people including 1 preschooler. I stayed in a triple room on the mountain side. I usually only stay in a room with a toilet and a bath immediately after entering, with two beds in the back, and a desk and a TV opposite (child talk). The two children were excited. There is a center partition on the road in front of the store, so the warehouse from the Beppu area will be a U-turn from where I went for a while. I checked in at 15:00, but I was distributing hell steaming and plum sake next to the front desk and had it immediately. It was delicious. Immediately after that, take a bath. The hotel itself seemed to be booming, but this time was still available. It is comfortable as a wide 々. The hot water temperature is also good. There is a draft beer server, a drink bar and ice cream where it goes up. This is only the night time zone. It feels like it's getting crowded, so it might be a good idea to enter early. Supper is a 90-minute two-part system. There are children, so it's early from 17:30. Because it is a half Viking, I bring steak and appetizers. I can't help but be worried about the food on the buffet table, but I think it's easier to consult with you if you're full if you touch the table service dish first. All-you-can-drink alcohol. I don't usually drink it, but because of poor development (laughs), I had a little apricot dew. If you are a drinker, it is heaven. There are many delicious dishes on the buffet table, so I was very satisfied. After the meal, go to the playroom with the child. Children were addicted to toys such as push pop, but there is a space where they can play in various ways. If you are traveling with children, you may come out once. By the way, there is no toilet on the 2nd floor, so this is quite troublesome. The room is new so it is large and clean. I think the view on the sea side is good, but that's a consultation with your wallet. I went to the bath from the morning the next day. It was around 6:30, but it was a reasonable entry. It seems that it is crowded if it is late. Breakfast starts at 7:30. The receptionist at check-in asks you the start time, but unlike dinner, it is not an hour system, so if you go at 8:30 or so, you will have a restriction on admission. The staff was also concerned about that area, and the table was about to be cleaned up when the bride & younger child was going to the toilet, and the older child and I were going to pick up dessert. There are some types of buffets that cannot be compared with eating at once in a mix of Japanese and Western styles. There are raw fish and some types of grilled fish are also served at the table. This was delicious. I mean, everything is delicious. Around the lobby on the 1st floor, there is a drink bar in the evening bathing space, and there is a coffee machine in the playroom, which is generous. There is also hell steaming, where you can enjoy plum wine or shochu, so even those who do not eat can enjoy it. Still, I think that eating can enjoy this place. Also, if you stay at peak time, you may be vacant and satisfied if you take early action (evening bath, morning bath, breakfast). I stayed with a lot of children. This time I stayed in combination with Harmony Land (if you go the next day, turn left and turn U). There are many rooms as it is, so it may not be suitable for those who want the quietness of adults. It may be good for a lively but OK group, a group that likes alcohol.

Overall, I felt the hotel was very nicely done with great local touches while still keeping an international atmosphere. I also wanted to point out the great flexibility of the hotel, allowing me to change my meal reservations from 3 dinners at Elements (I was on a package deal) to one at Elements and combining the remaining two meals at Elements to a dinner at Atelier. This allowed me to not have to dine at the same restaurant as well as opening up a slot for me to explore a local restaurant. However, there were two things that I'd like to point out that the hotel can improve upon. The first is the staffing at the club lounge (and in general) is not enough. There were many moments where I was left to wait, to the point where using standard facilities (like the check-in counter, or breakfast at Elements) would have been a more positive experience. Breakfast on 12/21 was where the understaffing really showed, where it took over an hour to complete breakfast; many guests left in the middle of their meal since service was horribly slow. However, the second point us what I would really want the hotel to work on - CoVID countermeasures. Largely, two things I'd like to point out. (1) Temperature screening us inconsistent. I was checked when I first arrived, but never anytime afterwards (or should I say, the thermometer station was unmanned). (2) During my meal at Atelier, my wife and I noticed that the staff (He was Italian, I think his name is Marco?) preparing the dishes (in the open kitchen) prepping a sauce, tasting it with the same spoon which was quickly rinsed it under the faucet and returned into the mixing bowl. I pointed this out to one of the servers (Japanese male, responsible for serving and explaining the dishes). This is where I felt the hotel can improve on - in detail, three things. (i) The Japanese server proceeded to quietly scold the staff in front of me, I felt that was not a great experience both for myself and the staff. (ii) Nothing was cleared. After the scolding (and then the staff responding back that he did not put the spoon back in) none of the utensils were changed and no follow up. I guess there is no trust in what a customer points out. And finally (iii) I felt that this is at the fault of the hotel for not putting in proper operation guidelines.A person putting together a meal will need to taste it, to make sure it's good. If the hotel were to put in operational guidelines to ensure tasting can be done while still making it very obvious that it is hygienic, I would not have to be writing this email. Needless to say, our dinner experience was ruined that night. I actually shared the above comment with IHG Guest Relations (on 25 Dec), which the agent was extremely prompt on getting back to me and assured that I would get a response back from the hotel about it within 48 hours. We (5 adults and 2 kids) stayed one night in Villa Touou. 2 staffers were already meeting us at the parking area who also directed us to drive to the villa right away. The check in was just done swiftly in the villa where the kids can settle down easily. The welcome snack was so delicious I regret I didn't finish the ones my other family members didn't consume. There was one standalone bedroom with 2 double beds facing a toilet (without bath). Then the master bedroom is connected to 1 tatami area and 1 tatami attic. With 7 of us, Ikkoten already set up 2 sets of mattresses in the attic and another 1 in the tatami area. With kids in a rainy weather, we appreciated a lot that the front desk called us before they drove to pick us up to head to the dining room. I guess each room/villa had their own private dining room. Only complaint is that our cars had to park a bit further up slope than the villa. And upon check out, while we were hoping we could drive our car to the front of the villa so that we could load our luggage easier, the hotel amenity car decided to restock our villas and occupied the front space of the villa. While we enjoyed the comfortable living room at night with our whole family, we also wished to try the smaller room where the in-room onsen could also enjoy the fantastic view. The onsen in Villa Touou does not have any view.

Good hotel for the price conveniently located near the railway station for ease of travel around the Oita Prefecture. First trip to Japan so a bit apprehensive but staff spoke good English and we were able to be understood in the local restaurants and bars. Small room but with Ensuite facility and internet connection. Restaurant for breakfast and dinner but I did not try the food - ate out at local restaurants. Clean hotel - drinks vending machine available in Reception. Located off main highway through the city.

What a lovely place to have a retreat. It's away from the crowd but near the yufuin station....about 500 m. They don't have many rooms so it's quiet. Just outside the hotel is Lawson. Restaurants are also nearby. The hotel looks like a resort with beautiful landscaping. Staff is hospitable and although some don't speak very good English, they try their best. They allow us to keep our luggage at the lobby before check-in and after checkout. The hotel is simply generous with free drinks almost throughout the day and night, free usage of bicycles , beer and instant noodles are sold at a cheap price. It's a self contained hotel. Everything is there. The 4 private onsens are great. Rooms are clean but a bit cramped and it would be good if they have more hangers to hang clothes. A mirror on the wall would be better than a small table mirror. If you're not a cat lover, you might not be impressed when you see their cats walking on the food tables and sitting on the sofas. The small details like a note welcoming you and a photo of you at the end of the stay are why I would love to come back again.

We made a booking directly with the hotel (Google translate). Communication wasn’t very prompt and last email was never responded. But it was ok. Our request for ground floor room was granted. Room We booked a western twin room. It was small with no cupboard, only 2 hooks. Besides this, it was clean and came with attached toilet. Bed was comfortable as well. Facilities Nice public Onsen - large. A pity no view at all to speak off. I didn’t use their 5 private onsens since they were not attractive. Free beer, coffee & tea. Really pretty courtyard, especially in the evening with the kerosine lamps. In the daytime you can see there are room for improvement. Location Excellent, very close to Yufuin’s major attractions like the lake, shopping street and Floral Village. Yet it is located along a quaint canal with great view of the paddy fields and mountains. Not very convenient for walking from the station though due to the non-tar road in immediate vicinity. Taxi fare was reasonable - ¥710. Services Not the friendliest. Staff did bring us to our room, detouring to show us the onsens. However, quite grumpy. After check-in I asked for assistance to book a local restaurant. They won’t help. Food We changed our booking from half board to no meals after our requests for some food tweaks were refused. Conclusion I would return for their location, ambience, good value and the free beer/coffee 😁
