Overall, it was a great stay and I would absolutely recommend staying here or at the other Lego hotels for any Lego lover visiting Legoland. It was definitely part of the whole experience for our family and one of the things that made it so great. There are some differences with the other two hotels, though. They may or may not be better for you depending on what you’re looking for… We loved that the rooms were themed (the whole property was), and that there was a sitting area outside of each room, with a grassy area and play structure for the kids to run around. This was particularly helpful during down time or as we were getting ready. Our room had a beautiful view of a lake, too. The pool area was also so great! The pool is huge, zero depth entry and had a ton of fun legos for the kids to play with. They had life jackets available too, which was helpful. Within the pool area was a nice sandy area for the kids to run around and a larger play structure. We loved that they allowed outside food into the area, because one of the nights we really needed more low key meal options (which we got from Publix, within walking distance - another plus!). Overall, the staff was so kind, helpful and laid back. It made the stay really easy. And while the place is Lego themed (which our kids loved), it seemed like the beach retreat didn’t get as much love or attention / investment as the other hotels. It also seemed less chaotic during busy times which was a plus for us. There isn’t a “front desk” if you need help - you have to dial a number to reach someone. And it didn’t seem as secure (you could drive right in). We didn’t need help during our stay so it was a non issue for us. A negative for us was a lack of a gym or workout area.
