Hilltop Barn

We stayed here 3 nights while touring the area. It's excellent in every way. Bill is a friendly and attentive host, pleasant conversationalist, and source of lots of useful local information. The entire property is clean and in good repair; no problems, and had there been any, I'm sure Bill would've attended to them at once. Comfortable room and bed, with goose down pillows--really pleasant. Breakfasts were delicious. All in a most peaceful and serene location; we heard nothing at night but silence. We'd gladly stay here again, and hope to do so.

Lovely spot, great accommodation Breakfast was amazing and cooked fresh. Ordered me and choices night before, so food was served at the time that suited us. Nothing was a problem, rooms were comfortable, great heating, lovely views. Converted barn, would highly recommend . Bill was very helpful and recommended places to visit and great pub to eat. Great few days away.

What an absolute treat to stay at Hilltop Barn, it’s a delightful building with superb surroundings and the most fabulous breakfast that you could wish for, courtesy of Bill who is a most welcoming host. We stayed in the Mango room which is spacious, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The village of Winterborne Zelston is beautiful and comes complete with a “Pooh Sticks”bridge, ducks, geese and swans.

Hilltop Barn is a gorgeous barn conversion, charming and full of character. Bill is the perfect host, so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was so comfortable and had a large en-suite. Breakfast was delicious. We had the most relaxing stay, the perfect escape from our everyday chaos, thank you!

Wow what a beautiful barn conversion b&b. Arrived and was met by Bill who made you feel welcomed straightaway. We had the olive room with en suite looking over the field and it was just lovely couldn’t fault it at all. The breakfast done by Bill was amazing and all locally sourced produce and Bill always had time to chat and tell you the best places to visit. Every morning at breakfast Bill always asked where we had been the previous day and what we were doing that day. The barn conversion is just a beautiful place and would highly recommend staying there. Will definitely be visiting again.

Amazing little find in Dorset. Upon arrival we were greated by Bill and offered tea and cake that was delicious. We were then shown the Mango suite, and shown the amenities included with our stay. The converted barn is idyllic and has a real homely feal to it. Bill is an excellent host, and his passion for the business shines through along with his breakfast culinary skills. Bills knowledge of the local area is evident with recommendations given of places to visit. We will be sure to stay again in the future.

Hill top Barn offered the peace and tranquillity we were looking for. From the moment we arrived and met Bill our host we knew we were going to have a wonderful stay. We had booked the Mango Room with amazing views across the paddock at the rear of the property and the garden to the front. We wanted for nothing during our 4 day/ 5 night stay, from an amazingly comfortable bed with lovely bedding to a luxurious bathroom, towels and toiletries. Breakfast was indeed a feast with an amazing range of choices to suit all appetites and palates. Bill was happy to chat to us at breakfast and share his local knowledge to help with our daily trips out I would mark our trip 11/10 if I could .. we didnt want our stay to come to an end and would return in an instant

It was a fun experience staying in this converted barn. We had a large bedroom with a comfortable bed and en-suite bathroom with both shower and spa bath. Excellent breakfast too but the main thing was our welcoming and entertaining host.

This is a long overdue review after my wife and I spent the last weekend of September 2022 at The Hilltop Barn to attend a friends nearby wedding. The Hilltop Barn is beautiful, even as you park outside you can instantly see it's going to be a lovely place to stay. The rooms are spacious, with super comfortable beds and furnished wonderfully. The grounds are very well kept and the views are gorgeous. We stayed in the 'superior double' which had the spa bath... good grief, that was lovely. What sets this place apart though is the owner, Bill. What a lovely man he is. Bill is so welcoming and instantly makes you feel at home. He brought us coffee and cake upon arrival, made delicious breakfasts for us both mornings (which had a very wide range of options) and was just a delight to chat to at length. He's clearly a man who loves what he does. What's more, he helped us and another couple who stayed at the Hilltop Barn to not get ripped off by local taxi drivers who quoted us absurd prices to take us to and from the wedding venue; Bill dropped us off and picked us up himself! We couldn't have been more grateful. We will definitely return here in the future, probably not for a while though as our stay resulted in us expecting twin boys!!
