Only when I actually checked in did I find that the pictures could not capture the true charm of the courtyard and the enthusiasm of the boss and his wife. It happened to be rainy when I stayed in the hotel, and the electric tour buses in the scenic area could not enter or leave. The boss specially hired two small cars to take us to the entrance of the scenic area. When I went through the formalities, the boss's wife served hot tea to dispel the chill, and also upgraded our room, which warmed my heart immediately. The boss was very talkative and took us to visit all the rooms. His words revealed his love for this homestay. Friends who were traveling with me were also shocked by the beautiful environment and safe and clean rooms here, which were comparable to the star-rated hotels I had stayed in before. Every brick and tile, every flower and grass, and even the small ornaments in the room can show the owner's intentions. Taking pictures and punching in are inevitable. The boss, who is a professional photographer, not only helped take pictures, but also gave careful guidance. I felt that I had earned it all at once. It's a pity that I only stayed for one night. It's worth slowing down the journey here and staying to savor it slowly.

We rode an electric tricycle driven by the boss himself up the river to Laiyan Hall (there were indeed swallows nesting on the beams in the lobby). She looks like a spotless Jiangnan girl. After tasting this year’s new tea, customized low-sugar black sesame cakes and freshly picked persimmons, the proprietress took us to visit her happy courtyard after a short rest. The entire B&B is based on Huizhou ancient architecture. Under the planning of the photographer owner, it was built into its current appearance in accordance with the purpose of restoring the old as it was and to the standards of self-occupation. When you open the door to the room, there is a faint scent of logs. The room is clean and tidy, and no hygienic dead spots are found. In the evening, I walked along the stream to the village. When I came back, I listened to the boss and his wife telling some interesting things in the hall. Finally, I returned to the room with unfinished emotions and slept beautifully all night listening to the faint sound of the stream. Get up early and go for a walk by the stream. When you come back, a rich breakfast is ready, including white rice porridge, pumpkin porridge, black rice porridge, pork buns with pickles and vegetables (the boss lady selects buns with various fillings, which are changed daily), fermented rice cakes, Fried dough sticks, sweet potatoes, corn, tea eggs, Malantou mixed with dried fragrant vegetables, and various pickles...we all like them and feel comfortable eating them. Time is so rushed that I don’t have enough time. I really want to come back in the summer to wade in the stream and fish. Come back in autumn to pick persimmons and enjoy ginkgo trees.

People are destined to each other. I have collected many B&Bs and finally settled on Yantang. The path is deep and deep, and the scenery along the way is something you can't see in the busiest streets in Hongcun. Maybe there are more unique B&Bs in the village, but when I stayed in Laiyantang, I decided that it was the best. The hostess is friendly and elegant, and the male host looks like an artist. Chatting with them is very cordial. Not to mention too much about the interior scenery, it’s best to see it in person. Anyway, I feel comfortable staying here for a whole day without going out. My favorite is the small open-air balcony, where I can listen to the rain, the sound of the stream, look at the mountains and clouds, one word, beauty; two words, enjoyment. The breakfast is exquisite and the tea break is also unique. The most important thing is that the room is clean and tidy and not damp. The journey is very tiring, and I don’t want to leave this small town. The biggest factor is choosing the right place to stay. It feels like this is not a commercial hotel, but a guest at a friend’s house.

A particularly good B&B, with an area of ​​1,200 square meters and only 10 rooms, avoids the shortcomings of poor sound insulation in traditional B&Bs. In the small courtyard, there is a wooden pavilion designed by the boss himself. The greenhouse is full of succulents and antiques collected by the boss can be seen everywhere. It is very comfortable to sit in the pavilion and drink tea and chat. The boss and his wife are very nice. We had a baby with us on this trip. As soon as we got back to the B&B, they cut fruits and washed tomatoes, which was very considerate.

The B&B is close to the source of the stream, quiet in a bustling city. The entire old house is well-preserved, the courtyard is elegant, the room layout and facilities are complete and comfortable, and the hygiene is tidy. The landlord couple is easy-going and enthusiastic, providing comfort and convenience for guests everywhere. It is highly recommended.

As soon as you enter the yard, you feel like you have returned to your own home❤️ When the aunt introduces the yard building, she is as proud as introducing her own children. I can really feel the uncle and aunt's care for their yard. There are many B&Bs in Hongcun, but most of them feel like fast food. This one makes people feel very cultural and not impatient. Auntie also gave us a lot of travel advice. The meals are great too!
