The grand palace used to be where the emperor stays. It is a very grand place. It is best to visit there early in the morning. I took a taxi from pratunam to grand palace for less than 100 baht. The admission fee is 500 baht for non residents. Do wear long sleeves shirts and long pants. There are many smaller palaces within the grand palace. Do spend at least 2 hours there as you would need to take your time exploring the place.
