Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, also known as "Chen Clan Academy", was built during the reign of Emperor Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty. It is one of the largest existing traditional Cantonese architectural structures and is also the largest, best-preserved, and most exquisitely decorated ancestral hall in China, hailed as the "Pearl of Lingnan Architecture". The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall is a culmination of Lingnan architectural craftsmanship, showcasing the "three carvings, two moldings, one casting, and one painting" that characterize Lingnan architecture, namely wood carving, brick carving, stone carving, pottery molding, plaster molding, metal casting, and color painting murals. All these superb skills are displayed in almost every hall, courtyard, corridor, room, door, window, railing, wall, roof ridge, and beam, making it a place truly worth visiting for appreciation. To see Lingnan culture, look to Guangfu; to see Guangfu culture, look to Xiguan. Yongqing Fang is renovated from the historical old streets. It is the former site of the famous foreign trade port of the Thirteen Hongs in Guangzhou, gathering the charm of Xiguan, arcade buildings, and Lingnan traditional opera, embodying the typical Lingnan cultural atmosphere.
