Xizhou is only 18 kilometers away from Dali Ancient City. It is located to the east of Erhai Lake and backed by Cangshan Mountain, and is a tranquil and exquisite ancient town that has been around for a millennium. 🚉Transportation: 🚗Self-driving: It takes about 20-30 minutes. 🚌Bus: Take a bus from the Cangshan Gate of Dali Ancient City to the Justice Gate of Xizhou, the fare is 20 yuan per person. 🚍Minibus: After crossing the road at March Street, you can see many minibuses, which go to Xizhou for about 7 yuan per person. The buses leave when full, but the drop-off point is about 1 kilometer away from the ancient town. 🚖Taxi: You can directly reach near the Justice Gate, costing about 60 yuan. 🛵Riding an electric bike: It takes about 1 hour. 🌈Tour route: Enter the ancient town from the Justice Gate of Xizhou ➡️ Ancient Banyan Tree ➡️ Yan's Courtyard ➡️ Corner Tower ➡️ Wheat Field ➡️ Haise Park (If you have enough time, you can also experience Xizhou tie-dyeing, which takes about 2 hours) 🏷️Must-visit attractions: 🌟Bai Ethnic Architecture Group: Xizhou is an important settlement of the Bai people, where many Bai ethnic residential buildings are preserved, such as 'Three Rooms and a Wall Screen', 'Four Sides and Five Courtyards' and other unique house structures, as well as decorated with carved beams, overlapping brackets, and flying eaves, allowing you to enjoy to the fullest. Not to be missed are the Yan's Courtyard Museum (this is the mansion of a local wealthy businessman over 100 years ago), with a ticket price of 18 yuan, open from 8:30-18:00. 🌟Giant Ancient Trees: Not far from the Justice Gate, there is a 500-year-old banyan tree that is still full of life. The ancient tree where Liu Yifei cried in the drama 'Go to the Place with Wind' is a 300-year-old big green tree, located outside Xizhou Ancient Town. Navigate to 'Hetianli Boutique Homestay' and walk for about ten minutes to get there. 🌟Corner Tower: A must-visit spot in Xizhou. If you want to take photos quietly, it's best to arrive before 8:30, otherwise, you will have to take photos in the narrow space between horse-drawn carriages, cars, and crowds, which makes it difficult to get good pictures. 🌟Wheat Field: March to May is the wheat season, with rapeseed flowers in early March and green fields in April. From June to October, it's rice fields, and by mid-September, they turn golden. 🥙Xizhou Delicacies: Delicious and hot Xizhou Baba. Personally, I think the sweet ones (with brown sugar filling) are tastier than the salty ones. The ones fresh out of the oven with the aroma of the pot are the most delicious, with a flowing brown sugar heart, but be careful not to burn yourself.
