Located in the western part of Hakone-machi, Lake Ashi is a volcanic lake formed by volcanic activity thousands of years ago and is the largest lake in Kanagawa Prefecture. The best way to visit Lake Ashi is by boat. There are two cruise companies available for visitors to choose from, the Hakone Sightseeing Boat and the Izu Hakone Ship.
