Come to Mile City to visit the Mile Temple

The Mile Temple is located in the Jinscreen Mountain Scenic Area in Mile City, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan, and was founded during the Song Dynasty. The architecture is solemn and magnificent, simple and generous. The main attractions in the scenic area include the Maitreya Buddha, the Maitreya Daxiong Hall, the Longhua Pagoda, the First Buddha's Hand, and the Five-Color Pond, among others. The Jinscreen Mountain Scenic Area is also known as the Mile Temple. Mile City shares its name with the Laughing Buddha Maitreya and is the only city in the world named after a Buddha, making it an auspicious and blessed place for tourists. To reach the scenic area, visitors must climb 1999 steps to see the Maitreya Buddha statue, or they can take a sightseeing car to the side of the statue. The statue is 19.99 meters tall and is said to be the largest Maitreya Buddha in the world. Only by being there can one truly feel its grandeur; the Maitreya Daxiong Hall is solemn and majestic, with an imposing presence; the Longhua Pagoda looks tall and dignified from a distance, reaching into the sky; the Five-Color Pond next to the mountain gate is also incredibly beautiful, with a riot of colors under the sunlight. Walking and looking around the scenic area, slowly appreciating it, one's soul can also be purified... Visitors can climb the stairs up the mountain to enjoy the views in sequence and then reach the top; alternatively, they can take a sightseeing car directly to the top and then walk down the steps, enjoying a different landscape. Transportation: The scenic area is about 10 kilometers from Mile City. You can take a direct bus from the city, or take a taxi or drive there, which is very convenient. It is best for travelers to arrive at the scenic area before 17:30, otherwise, they will have to walk up the mountain.
