Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and find your own peace on the West Island

The West Island is located on the west side of Sanya, facing Sanya Bay across the sea. From the island, you can view the entire Sanya Bay, and it is also a great spot to watch airplanes land at Phoenix Airport. West Island, a fishing village with a history of 400 years, is not very large and not fully developed. More than four thousand indigenous people live on the island, which has a police station, kindergarten, primary school, seaside sandy beaches, coconut breeze corridors, as well as century-old houses and a sea library. It is a small island with a blend of artistic and homely atmosphere. The place where you disembark on the island allows you to feed fish in the clear waters teeming with fish. After landing, the fishing village is on the left-hand side. Passing through the tourist center and across the coconut palm beach, you will soon reach the entrance to the fishing village. In the morning, you can go to catch crabs at low tide; anywhere along Niuwangling or Guanhai Avenue is good for this activity, with plenty of small crabs and fish. In the evening, it's delightful to watch the sunset at Niuwangling, stopping as you please along the way.
