Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain Travel Guide

Tianmen Mountain is divided into routes A and B. If you want to hike, take route B. If you don't want to get too tired and want to take photos for check-in, my suggestion is to play route A, which is not tiring and fun (let me tell you secretly: the scenery on route A is better than route B 😉) Adult tickets are 278, I got a student ticket for 147. Route A takes the cable car directly to the top of Tianmen Mountain. You must take the cable car, the scenery is super beautiful, and it's very thrilling!! Since I went to Tianmen Mountain on a Sunday, there was a huge downpour on Saturday night. We all thought it would rain heavily the next day, but unexpectedly, the weather was exceptionally good the next day. The guide said we saw a rare sea of clouds! It was really beautiful!! We entered the mountain around 9 am and played until 6 pm when we came out, so I suggest going in the morning if possible. There are Zhajiang noodles and snack bars on the mountain, but they are all expensive. We brought a lot of delicious food and also brought our own lunch (remember to bring your own, definitely bring your own) Then we played the East Line, which passes through the glass walkway, which is also very thrilling! But if you are faint-hearted, you might not want to walk it. It's 5 yuan per person for a 60-meter glass walkway, which is really interesting! The paths to walk are all flat, no need to climb mountains. After roughly touring the East Line, it's just taking the escalator down the mountain. It's very long and takes about 10 minutes, which is a great time to take photos. You can take them slowly, the escalator is really amazing. (All these are included in the ticket) After taking the escalator, you will directly reach the bottom of Tianmen Mountain Cave (above the 999 steps). It's a great spot for check-in and photos. If you are with children or the elderly, I suggest taking the elevator down the 999 steps for 32 yuan per person on the left side of Tianmen Cave. The steps going down are very steep and a bit scary. If you are afraid of heights or faint-hearted, it's better to take the elevator (sincerely suggested). After descending the steps, it's time for photo check-ins. Finally, take the cable car down the mountain again, and there will be a bus to take you out, which takes less than ten minutes. Then, when we came out, it was already six o'clock, and we were all very tired and hungry, so we chose a restaurant at the entrance to eat. Don't do this. We had the local specialty 'Xiangxi Three Pots'. We ordered the dry pot, and we all agreed it was not tasty, very spicy, and not suitable for eating with rice (we can't eat spicy food). The portion was small and expensive, so we suggest eating home-cooked dishes. Then we added a meal of McDonald's 🍔 and 🍦. We took the high-speed train back to Changsha at eight o'clock in the evening. Overall, it was a lot of fun!!! Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain, you did not disappoint me!!
