Hotel near First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University/Pan Jia Wan,Kunming

This hostel is absolutely fantastic! I stayed here 20 years ago, so returning felt incredibly nostalgic and comforting. There were lots of international guests, which is always a good sign. The place is clean and tidy, and they even have self-service laundry facilities. The little restaurant at the hostel is particularly good and offers great value for money.

The hotel room was spotless and very quiet at night, which is a huge plus for anyone who values good sleep – highly recommend it! The front desk staff was lovely; the lady at reception paid close attention to the notes I left on Trip.com and even gave me an eye mask. The location is super convenient for transport on weekends, and dining is a breeze with all sorts of malls downstairs and the old street right next door. Breakfast was also fantastic with a great variety of choices. I'll definitely pick this hotel again next time I'm in Kunming.

The 12-person room is spacious and comes with a large locker! You can grab 'Guoqiao Mixian' (Crossing the Bridge Noodles) right outside! There's a bar on the 3rd floor, but it closes around midnight, so no need to worry about noise!

We are Malaysian & can speak mandarin. Don’t worry if you’re non-chinese speaker, they will try their best to communicate with you. Sonzhuju Coffee & Tea Holiday Villa is convenient for those who bring big luggage. They have a service to help carry your luggage too, from the main road (approx 170m). And please let them know once you arrived at the main road! The hotel is away from loud noise & busy from the main area. Cosy place & strategic for us staying in 3D2N. The room was clean. Breakfast included, but for Muslims, please mention that you’re Muslim, then they will prepare you veggie options. And you can choose to have your meal in your room or their eating area.

Ai Fei, a local host from the hotel, was very helpful in arranging our customised tour trip. We texted the hotel via WeChat 8–9 days prior to our arrival in Lijiang. We asked if there was any local there who could advise us on the trip and straightaway they made a group for discussion. He'd make sure that we were all okay & happy to discuss our plan to visit any area that we would like to go to. He arranged our private car trip to JDSM & Blue Moon Valley and brought the ticket for us too. Upon we'd arrived at the hotel, he served us a welcome tea, fruit and flower cake. From the next morning we are going to JDSM & Blue Moon Valley. He advised us on what the do’s and don't prior to our trip. The private driver that he helped arrange for us was also very helpful & patient to ensure that we felt safe going to the place (group chat). He also helped to arrange a private car for us to Shangri-la. Overall, he made our plan and trip smoothly.

As for the Muslims, you can ask him or the hotel host to recommend where the nearest Muslim restaurant they will definitely find for you.
Overall, definitely recommend staying here. We are happy with our stay here.

The facilities are simple and compact; the space is small but sufficient. The elevator, which many people have mentioned, is indeed a bit slow, but it's acceptable. Breakfast is a bit unexciting, and the gym is quite empty. If you order takeout, a robot will deliver it to your room. The service is very good and responsive. The hotel is located in the old downtown area, at the intersection of several shopping malls: Bailian, Shuncheng, Wangfujing, and Baida are right downstairs. Next to it is the old street night market, which is very convenient if you enjoy the vibe of the old city. In the evening, there's ethnic dancing at Bailian Square, which is very lively.

For a hotel that boasts 5A-grade luxury, my recent stay was exceptionally poor, completely failing to meet star-rated standards. The main issues revolved around the front desk and security staff's attitudes, which were consistently arrogant, cold, and utterly lacking in service awareness. The front desk service was arrogant and rude: When checking in or asking questions, the staff constantly scowled, spoke with impatience, and gave disdainful looks. They showed no initiative to help and exuded an air of superiority throughout. This was a complete departure from the professionalism and warmth expected of a luxury hotel. The security staff were haughty: When asking basic questions about parking or directions, the security guards were extremely arrogant, spoke brusquely, and were unresponsive, even showing signs of disdain. This lack of courtesy and professionalism from security personnel was completely inconsistent with the positioning of a 5A hotel. No matter how good the facilities are, poor service renders them meaningless. For a supposedly luxury service, they couldn't even manage basic respect. Their arrogant and cold attitudes made the experience extremely uncomfortable. I will definitely not stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone.

Here's my review: **1. Location:** This guesthouse is located at the North Gate of Lijiang Old Town, very easy to find with direct navigation. **2. Service:** In a word, the service here is top-notch in Lijiang! The 6th-floor viewing platform offers a direct view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. I managed to catch the 'Golden Mountain in the Sun' phenomenon in the morning while enjoying a delicious breakfast (which was superb!). In the afternoon, there was tasty coffee for afternoon tea. After 7 PM, a charming young man led us in a butter tea experience, allowing us to immerse ourselves in ethnic culture and enjoy 'stove-side tea' with friends from various countries. **3. Other:** I had booked a twin room, but the next day, once other rooms became available, they upgraded me to a family suite for free. The guesthouse staff, especially the young men, were incredibly genuine with their recommendations for travel, shared taxi services, and attractions. The recommended Yuhu Village and Baisha Town were fantastic experiences and definitely worth visiting! **In summary:** My most beautiful memory of Lijiang is the afternoon I spent relaxing at this guesthouse, gazing at the snow-capped mountains, clearing my mind, and slowly savoring the essence of life.

The hotel's guest services called a day in advance to ask about our estimated arrival time, if there were any elderly guests, and any special needs. It's clear the hotel really values guests' requirements. 👍🏼 The hotel environment is excellent, with good greenery, and staff are always maintaining it. Plus, every corner of the hotel is super photogenic! 😆 The front desk staff quickly processed our check-in and even upgraded our room for free! 👍🏼 They also explained all the important details clearly. 😎 The room was clean and tidy, with a great wet/dry separation and an amazing ambiance. I have to say, both the hotel's interior and the rooms are incredibly picturesque! 😛 The hotel breakfast offered both Western options and Yunnan's special rice noodles, and it was consistently good every morning. 😊 All the hotel staff were very friendly and always ready to help with anything we needed. 👍🏼 From the environment, cleanliness, facilities, to the service, my family and I were extremely satisfied. Choosing the MGallery was definitely a wise decision! 🌹🌹🌹

Rraymond200909On the positive side, the hotel has quite a few recreational facilities, and the room amenities are decent and relatively new. On the negative side, the biggest problem is the excessive dampness in the room. It was uncomfortable to sleep in, and although the hotel changed the bedding, it didn't help much. This might be due to the humid air during the rainy season in Xishuangbanna, but two things puzzled me: 1) The front desk said no one else had reported this issue before. 2) I stayed at three hotels during this trip, and Zhucheng was the third. The other two were right next to Zhucheng, and their rooms didn't feel noticeably damp. Also, the hotel room didn't pay enough attention to some details. The sofa arrangement prevented the curtains from closing completely automatically; I had to manually close them. The refrigerator was also quite noisy, which affected my sleep.

Rrob&leangHands down the best hotel we stayed at during our Yunnan trip. We had such a wonderful stay and were genuinely impressed by how helpful and friendly the hotel management/owners were. Nothing we asked for was ever too much trouble & they went above and beyond to make our stay special. We were a group of 12 travelling from Australia and they made all of us feel incredibly welcome and well looked after throughout our stay. On our first night, we wanted to explore the ancient town and the owner kindly jumped on his motorbike to personally show us the way & even gave our 6 year old a ride! We weren't expecting that level of hospitality & that really stood out and made a lasting impression. We also had a lovely afternoon tea experience at the hotel, where the owner took the time to introduce us to a variety of teas and nougat to try. It was a great experience. The hotel rooms were excellent, clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything needed for a relaxing and pleasant stay. We stayed in Room 101, which faces the street and were pleasantly surprised that there were no issues with noise or passing traffic. The location is also fantastic with the Ancient Town just a short walk away, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a welcoming and comfortable place to stay & would definitely come back 😃

MM21810****Choosing the Adaman Hotel by Mingyoo Li Cheng was absolutely the best decision I made for this Xishuangbanna trip. From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the corridors enveloped in tropical greenery, exuding an exotic vibe. Every snapshot I took turned into a stunning, atmospheric photo. The room was spacious and cozy, with smart controls throughout, making everything super convenient. The bedding was incredibly soft and skin-friendly, ensuring a wonderfully restful sleep every night. The location is also fantastic – close to the airport, which makes getting around a breeze. Whether you want to escape the crowds for some peaceful time or explore Xishuangbanna's beautiful sights, this place is perfectly suited. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Xishuangbanna!

WWanhe ZhangThis Banyan Tree property boasts an excellent environment, with architecture and decor that distinctly showcase Naxi ethnic characteristics. On clear days, you can even catch a glimpse of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain right from the hotel entrance. I booked a Jacuzzi King Bed Villa. From the carpets to the wooden furniture, everything felt well-used but meticulously maintained. The bathroom fixtures were Toto and Hansgrohe, featuring smart toilet seats. The hot and cold water for the sink could be adjusted independently. The toiletries were Banyan Tree's own brand, and they were quite pleasant to use. The outdoor soaking tub is cleaned and refilled for each guest, with 24-hour heating, and you can choose whether or not to activate the hydro-massage function. Almost all the indoor and outdoor lighting was warm-toned, and the design of the spotlights and light strips was very well thought out, creating a lovely ambiance in the evening. The service was outstanding. From check-in to check-out, every staff member I encountered was incredibly polite, greeting guests with genuine warmth and sincerity! A dedicated front desk butler even called me the day before check-in and added me on WeChat to coordinate details. Any requests could be handled directly via WeChat, and the efficiency was truly impressive – a real standout! Amenities and fresh fruit were replenished and changed daily, and the daily cleaning was exceptionally thorough. The turn-down service was excellent. During my three-day stay, I received a complimentary Banyan Tree little turtle and a traditional ornament. The buffet breakfast offered a good variety of dishes, and everything was very fresh – no complaints there. The food at the White Cloud Chinese Restaurant was excellent, with a very traditional flavor. The ingredients, cooking, service, and ambiance were all great, though the prices were a little on the higher side, but the portions were generous. I recommend the Stir-fried Water Hyacinth, Sautéed ******* Pork with Herbs, Stewed Spare Ribs with Mixed Vegetables, and the Shangri-La Yak Hot Pot. The spa was fantastic! The Banyan Tree Gallery here is also worth a visit, featuring many works created in collaboration with local artisans, as well as some pieces from the Baisha Embroidery Art Institute available for sale. Most of the hotel staff are locals from Lijiang, and the entire hotel does an excellent job of incorporating local culture. I look forward to returning to Banyan Tree Lijiang for another vacation when I have the chance. Many thanks to all the hotel staff for their incredibly warm service!

GGuest UserThe B&B is absolutely beautiful, I really love the decor style – it feels so cozy and inviting! The host even upgraded our room for free to a third-floor room with a balcony. Sitting on the balcony in the evening, enjoying the breeze and a glass of wine, truly made our trip incredibly comfortable and relaxing. And Sanjin (the dog) is so cute too! She had just had a bath the day we arrived and was very cuddly.

GGuest UserSeriously, Chinese people don't lie to Chinese people – this place is a must-book! The hygiene was impeccable; the sheets and duvet smelled so fresh and clean, which made our stay incredibly reassuring. The environment was absolutely stunning; our balcony opened right onto the grassland. We literally ran out in our pajamas in the morning to take photos, and every shot looked like a wallpaper. The service truly understood what women want – they offered free ******* clothing to wear and even took us to cuddle little lambs. The staff who helped us with our room was super friendly, and all the managers were so handsome! The facilities were top-notch too. With the floor heating on, you could walk barefoot without getting cold, and the diffused oxygen system was completely silent, so we slept like babies. For all these reasons, I'll definitely be back!

GGuest UserWe booked a family room, which was very spacious and comfortable for three people. The hotel service was excellent, and we extended our stay immediately. The receptionist was very welcoming and recommended good food and fun activities. They quickly resolved any issues, prioritizing customer satisfaction. 👍 The hotel is located behind the Peacock Tower, and there are many restaurants nearby. However, being in a tourist area, prices are not cheap, and the roads inside Gaozhuang are very congested; it's difficult to get a taxi in at night. The hotel is within walking distance of the Starlight Night Market, which is worth a visit.

OOlive GohWhen I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made. The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car. When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff. The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion. This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time! One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay. Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.

GGuest UserThe B&B was spotless and well-maintained with excellent facilities. The environment was beautiful, and the rooftop terrace offered stunning views of the Cangshan sunrise and sunset, overlooking the ancient city – truly delightful. The room was bathed in warm sunlight, and enjoying tea while gazing at the ancient city from the bay window was a real treat. The owners were incredibly kind, warm, and genuine, always ready to help with any request. They gave us practical tips and food recommendations that didn't disappoint. There's also a very friendly dog named Wangcai and two adorable cats. When we left, they even helped us with our checked luggage, showing genuine care for their guests. I'll definitely recommend this place to friends and will choose it again if I ever return. I'm currently in a Lijiang B&B, unable to sleep, and the contrast makes me miss that place even more – it had a special kind of warmth.
