SSisier-We took our little one to Chongqing next door for the weekend. Before going, I looked at many types of hotels, but this hundred-year-old villa, nestled in the bustling city center, immediately caught my eye. It's really close to Jiefangbei and Hongyadong, making it super convenient for getting around. This old Republic of China-era villa, built into the hillside, boasts blue tiles, wooden windows, and courtyards filled with light and shadow – every step feels like a scene from a movie. They offer 24-hour butler service, afternoon tea, and a bedtime soup, covering all the bases. Each room is unique, with garden rooms, tree-view rooms, river-view rooms, and even loft-style rooms… absolutely beautiful! We stayed in a loft, which was spacious and quiet. Our child had their own little space, giving us parents some much-needed free time. The best part is stepping out right into the authentic local life of old Chongqing. The main scenic spots are within walking distance, which is incredibly convenient when traveling with kids. Breakfast the next day included staple noodles and dumplings, along with a rich and nutritious 'nine-grid' platter that our baby absolutely loved! No need to rush the itinerary when traveling with kids. Slow down in this century-old building, watch the mountains, the river, and time flow by. History comes alive, and family time feels truly special. The little one had a blast, and I got some great photos. This trip was absolutely worth it! This is truly the right way to experience Chongqing.

TTaiyangwenquandanThe room was fantastic, with a strong Chinese aesthetic. Most of the furniture and facilities were made of wood, which was very comfortable. There was even a mahjong table, though we couldn't gather enough people to play, haha! The bed was very comfortable. Upon check-in, we also received a complimentary enhanced hot spring experience. We chose lavender, and to our surprise, it was freshly brewed, which was a lovely surprise. After checking out, I left my power bank in the room, and it wasn't convenient to arrange a courier. Our butler, Xiaoya, brought it to us the next morning, for which I'm extremely grateful. Both the check-in and check-out services were excellent. When we left, we didn't even need to go to the front desk to check out, but the butler still chased us out from the front desk to say goodbye, ask about our stay, and see us off. Although breakfast for two was included when we booked the room, we didn't wake up in time. I'll definitely try it next time I visit!

PpogbackMy stay in an executive room during this Chongqing trip was absolutely flawless from start to finish. It offered an unparalleled experience, making it an excellent choice for a holiday or extended stay in Chongqing. Everything far exceeded my expectations, providing comfort and a sense of calm throughout. What truly impressed and won me over was the Regent Hotel's meticulous and thoughtful service, easily making it the benchmark for high-end hotel service in Chongqing. From the moment I arrived for check-in, the staff were professional, gentle, and impeccably polite. The doorman warmly greeted me, assisted with parking and luggage, and handled everything with gracious humility. The front desk check-in process was efficient and quick, with staff patiently explaining hotel facilities, guest benefits, and local sightseeing tips. The communication felt natural and comfortable. Throughout my stay, the entire team maintained a high standard of service, responding promptly and thoroughly. Room cleaning was meticulous and attentive, with amenities, mini-bar drinks, and local snacks replenished daily. The room was spotless, tidy, and pleasantly fragrant. All requests were handled quickly and appropriately, with attentive service that wasn't intrusive, perfectly embodying the quality of a top-tier luxury hotel. I felt completely at ease and comfortable the entire time. My executive room had an exceptional overall feel, with an open and airy layout and a spacious ambiance. The decor blended elegant Chinese aesthetics with modern minimalist luxury design, creating a sophisticated yet warm atmosphere. The layout was well-designed, and the soft furnishings were exquisite. The warm lighting created a soothing ambiance. The room's soundproofing was excellent, ensuring quiet and privacy, leading to superb rest. The panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows offered unrivaled views of the confluence of the two rivers and the Yuzhong Peninsula cityscape. Whether relaxing or soaking in the tub, I could enjoy the riverside view, immersing myself in the mountainous city's scenery. The bedding was soft, skin-friendly, and incredibly comfortable. The bathroom featured a dry/wet separation, and premium toiletries were well-stocked. The executive room's exclusive mini-bar was refreshed daily with complimentary drinks and snacks. Various thoughtful daily essentials were perfectly provided, with attention to every detail, making for a luxurious and pleasant living experience. The dining experience was equally outstanding, with dishes that excelled in color, aroma, and taste, balancing both quality and flavor. The hotel offered a rich selection of meals, catering to both local Chongqing flavors and exquisite Western cuisine. The buffet breakfast had a wide variety of fresh ingredients, including regular Western pastries, hot dishes, congee, and fresh fruit drinks, as well as authentic Chongqing noodles and pea and meat sauce noodles, full of local character. Executive room guests also enjoyed exclusive executive lounge benefits, including breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening happy hour. The food was exquisitely prepared and diverse, in a quiet, less crowded setting, offering greater privacy and a full sense of exclusive treatment. Additionally, the hotel's main dining options, specialty hotpot, and the Two Rivers Bar on the 7th floor are all worth experiencing. The ingredients are premium, and the cooking is done with care. The Two Rivers Bar boasts a prime view of the river at night, offering a double delight for both sight and taste with the evening breeze and delicious food. The hotel's public facilities were comprehensive and well-maintained. The high-altitude heated swimming pool was quiet and uncrowded, allowing me to swim while enjoying river views. The gym had professional and well-equipped machinery to meet daily workout needs. The spa and relaxation areas were well-appointed, perfect for unwinding after a tiring journey. The public areas exuded elegant style, with a sophisticated fragrance, creating a tranquil and refined environment where every snapshot looked like a professional photograph. Overall, my impression of the stay was that Regent Chongqing enjoys a prime location with unparalleled views of the two rivers, complemented by impeccable, thoughtful service, excellent dining, a high-quality executive room environment, and comprehensive facilities. Everything was executed to perfection. With the added executive privileges, the overall value for money and comfort were significantly enhanced, creating a tranquil and luxurious sanctuary in the bustling mountain city. Next time I visit Chongqing, Regent Chongqing will still be my top choice, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to friends traveling or vacationing in Chongqing. It's truly worth revisiting.

GGuest UserThe hygiene, environment, and facilities are all great, and it's not far from Happy Valley. The room design and color scheme are also decent. The only regrettable thing is that the swimming pool was closed during the Chinese New Year. My kids were really looking forward to swimming, so they were quite disappointed.

LLudiyanasimalunI chose this hotel because I was traveling with my elderly parents and young child, and my parents have mobility issues. Having stayed at other Niccolo hotels before, I trusted the brand. The Niccolo is conveniently located above a shopping mall. The concierge in Chongqing was more enthusiastic than at other locations. During the partial check-in, we were assigned a butler, Freya, who was very warm and helpful. As soon as I mentioned that Niccolo hotels in Chengdu and Changsha offered complimentary chocolates, she immediately arranged some for us. She also proactively offered to change one of our rooms because it had a damp smell, but we declined as we preferred the convenience of having both rooms next to each other. The cleaning lady on our floor promptly brought us an air purifier. The welcome fruit was plentiful and excellent. Although the twin room felt a bit basic and lacked a large sofa, I didn't feel comfortable bringing it up due to Freya's exceptional warmth. The butler service they offer here is something I haven't seen in Chengdu or Changsha, which is a great touch. I also added her on WeChat, which was very convenient. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

11390581****Booked two rooms with no high expectations, just wanted to bring my family for a hot spring dip. Checked in on a rainy day, and the hotel's overall architectural style, ancient and elegant, exceeded what I'd imagined. The hotel is nestled on a walkway along the Jialing River, offering views of the Zhang Fei Trail on the cliffs across the bank. The Jialing River flows gently amidst lush greenery, a stark contrast to the terrain of the Jiangnan hills, showcasing a resilient and rich landscape. If you want to experience the geomorphology and vegetation of the Sichuan-Chongqing region, this place is truly unique. Now, about the hotel's service. We had a dedicated butler who was responsive and attentive. The staff at the Chinese restaurant, in particular, were exceptional, making us feel right at home and relaxed. You can enjoy the hot springs directly in your room, listening to the rain patter on the banana leaves. Even in winter, there's no need to fly to Kyoto to experience quality hot springs. The short video perfectly captured the vibrant energy of the people from Sichuan and Chongqing.

KKalamaaguiThe location is super convenient! All the major sights like Jiefangbei, Hongyadong, Chaotianmen, and Baixiangju are within walking distance. Even during long holidays when these key areas might be closed to traffic, you can easily stroll back to the hotel. The room was quiet, and the bedding was crisp and comfortable. When I first checked in, I thought the mattress might be a bit too soft, but it actually offered excellent support. I fell asleep instantly all three nights. The service was fantastic across the board (greeters, front desk, housekeeping, and dining). Even though the hotel was fully booked during the May Day holiday, it was never noisy, everything ran very smoothly. The breakfast had a great variety (though I do wish they had salted duck eggs, which I usually have with congee!). The Chuan Shang Chinese restaurant also offered great views and excellent food.

GGuest UserLocation: Just a 3-minute walk from Gongmao Metro Station. For my May Day trip, I didn't want to stay right in the middle of all the attractions in Yuzhong District, and it turned out to be a great decision. Being slightly away from the tourist center made transportation even more convenient. Ambiance: The overall environment maintained a good standard; it was quite clean and tidy. Facilities: To be honest, I've long since been disillusioned with these older international five-star hotels. Their smart tech and facilities are still stuck in the last century. The TV was very small with no screen mirroring function, and the hot water wasn't great. On two days, I had to call the front desk to ask for someone to adjust the temperature. On the last day, it was really hot (I suspect it's solar-powered, as it was very sunny that day). The front desk doesn't provide bathtub liners, saying that the cleaning staff disinfects, and if needed, they'd come to disinfect again. I figured it wasn't worth the hassle, but when I rinsed it myself, I actually found hair (this was the first time using it after check-in). This isn't specific to Kempinski; Sheraton, Hilton, and Marriott are pretty much the same – they don't seem to have any interest in keeping up with the times. I mainly chose it hoping that a professionally managed hotel would be cleaner and more hygienic than some of the trendy 'influencer' hotels. Dining: I didn't book breakfast, but I bought some homemade bread from the hotel's downstairs bakery, which I highly recommend. Also, a definite highlight is the 24-hour convenience store right downstairs from the hotel – absolutely fantastic! I bought yogurt there every day to help with spicy food. Service: It should have been good, but no one reminded me or proactively offered me beer... I actually forgot about it too.

GGuest UserThis is an old hotel, but it's very well-maintained, and the quality is still top-notch! I stayed here once about 10 years ago and hadn't been back since. This hotel used to be quite the place back then! I'm delighted to have had the chance to stay again. Both the facilities and service are excellent, and the location is super convenient. I'll definitely come back if I have the opportunity! Also, a big thank you to Luke Lee at the front desk for his very warm welcome during check-in!

ZZhangxiaotingThe river view rooms offer great scenery, and I personally think it surpasses the Bund's 'three iconic buildings'. However, besides the uninterrupted river view from the window, the overall stay experience at this hotel was very, very mediocre. My whole family landed in Chongqing, and we took a taxi to the hotel, arriving for check-in at 3 PM. The concierge desk on the first floor was practically useless. We walked past, loaded with luggage, and they simply blurted out, ”Take the elevator upstairs for check-in,” without even asking if we needed help with our bags. Well, maybe this hotel caters more to business events, and casual guests like us are dispensable. Upon reaching the front desk, they searched around and said they couldn't find my reservation. The front desk staff member was very impatient, asking where I booked the room. I showed him my mobile booking confirmation, and he snatched my phone, swiping through it quickly before searching on his computer. Only then did he find it. He then informed me that the room wasn't ready yet… It was almost 4 PM by this point. In all my years, it's rare to encounter a situation where a room isn't ready so late in the afternoon. My elderly parents and I sat in the lobby for an hour. Finally, we checked in. I won't even mention the outdated room facilities. I honestly suggest that any ladies who need to do their makeup when traveling should absolutely not consider this hotel. The bathroom is dimly lit, there's no vanity counter to place cosmetics or skincare products, and the magnifying mirror is broken… Not to mention the mini-bar was completely empty, and they only provided two small bottles of mineral water for one room! 😤 We went for a swim in the evening, and there was only one measly towel in the locker. If you don't specifically ask, the hotel won't proactively provide children's amenities. The lifeguard left their post for half an hour. I can't imagine if any accident were to happen at that moment, whether the hotel would be able to bear the responsibility. The 50th-floor observation deck was just an empty rooftop platform. The 'Cloud Bar' advertised on the elevator navigation had cluttered items piled up, clearly indicating it hadn't been in operation for a long time. Chongqing is known for its nightlife, but the hotel lobby bar closed at 9 PM. A normal lobby bar should at least be open until 10 PM or even 11 PM, right? We didn't book a platinum room or a separate executive lounge, so even if we wanted a drink, there was nowhere to get one. Going back to the location, it's close to Haitangxi Metro Station, two stops from Shangxin Street, making it convenient for taking the cable car across the river or visiting Xiahao Li. You can walk to the riverside and dine or relax at the river view restaurants in Dongyuan 1891.
