My stay at JW Marriott Taiyuan Maoye exceeded my expectations. The hotel's location is excellent, with direct access to the Maoye Tiandi commercial area, making travel, dining, and shopping very convenient. The room was spacious and elegant, with a great view from the floor-to-ceiling windows. The cleanliness was meticulous, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The mini-bar offered several complimentary soft drinks, which was a nice touch. The front desk and room service staff were professional and courteous, friendly without being intrusive. The breakfast had a wide variety of options, and the executive lounge maintained high quality. Both the facilities and service lived up to JW Marriott's luxury positioning. However, the only minor drawback was the bathtub, which was the smallest I've ever seen – a bit too small to lie down in comfortably.

I stayed for 4 days. There was almost no service. I arrived at the hotel at 4 PM, and although they helped me arrange a higher floor, I waited for almost an hour, and the room they arranged was still not ready. They then switched me to another room on the same floor. The lobby was very hot, and all the temporary resting spots were directly in the sun. When I got upstairs, I was a bit dumbfounded to find my room directly facing the elevator. Oh well, I checked in. The check-in experience wasn't great. Disposable toiletries weren't replenished promptly; besides toilet paper, you literally only got them once. For a 4-day stay (2 days booked via a group deal, 2 days via other platforms), the bedside power outlet didn't work. I had to unplug the table lamp to charge my phone, and that outlet was just awful. The floor-to-ceiling window blinds were very dirty, covered in dust. For the same pre-sale price, Shangri-La offers much better value for money. Kempinski seemed forced into pre-selling, almost as if they don't want future guests. There are just too many options in Taiyuan for this price point.

The room layout is excellent, spacious, and comfortable. The breakfast offers a wide variety, especially the bread, pastries, and cakes, which are plentiful and high-quality, tasting delicious. At the noodle bar, you can customize your dish with ingredients of your choice. They also serve Taiyuan-style noodles. The hotel's location is convenient for getting around. The security guard in the underground parking lot is very responsible; they even called to remind me when I forgot to close my car window! 👍

The Garden Hotel is located within Datong's ancient city, close to the Drum Tower, making it very convenient to walk to attractions. It boasts a four-star standard, and the breakfast offers local specialties like lamb offal soup with noodles and knife-cut noodles, along with live coffee latte art – quite impressive! The hotel is very popular, and the restaurant often has queues during meal times. Guests, however, enjoy a VIP no-queue channel, which is a huge bonus. Most staff members are attentive and polite. The only minor drawbacks are that the room WiFi signal is just average, and we hope the female server at the noodle-cutting station during breakfast could be a bit more friendly.

It's split into two buildings, A and B, and has a somewhat dated decor, but the rooms are quite spacious, clean, and tidy, making for a pleasant stay. The hotel offers great value for money and even provides a simple dinner. If you're tired from exploring and don't feel like going out in the evening, you can grab dinner right in the hotel lobby on the first floor. The breakfast spread is also rich and comprehensive, with both Chinese and Western options. While the facilities are a bit old, it's simple and comfortable.

Let me elaborate. **Courtyard Design:** Very beautiful, many scenic spots within the ancient city are decorated in a similar style. **Room Amenities:** Given the prime location, the room isn't large, perhaps around 15 square meters. It has all the essentials and is very clean. The mattress was comfortable. Of course, it can't compare to high-end or luxury hotels. Its main advantage is its excellent location; it's very convenient for exploring, and you can easily pop back for a rest when you get tired. **Service:** The staff were very service-oriented. When we arrived, there weren't many guests, and the service was very attentive. **Breakfast:** It's not a buffet; it's a fixed-menu breakfast, like a 'nine-grid' style. It looks very appealing, and the taste is decent enough to fill you up. Overall, it's a good stay. Naturally, for this price point within the ancient city, you shouldn't compare it to hotels of the same price outside. It's incomparable, primarily due to its superb geographical advantage.

Located right next to the Confucius Temple, it's incredibly convenient for exploring the ancient city. The rooms have a traditional decor and are very warm. The hotel grounds are really spacious. We arrived late at night, but it was so easy because we'd messaged the hotel on WeChat beforehand to arrange a complimentary business shuttle pick-up from the high-speed rail station. Their service is excellent and proactive. Since it was the off-season, they even upgraded us to a larger room for free, which was fantastic value for money. With traditional kang beds, old-fashioned door locks, and a classic courtyard, it's perfect for guests who want to experience traditional culture.

My most delightful surprise when visiting Linfen was staying at the Ancient City Courtyard Museum Hotel. It's not a replica of ancient buildings, but rather three authentic Ming and Qing dynasty courtyards that have been relocated and restored, making it a living museum you can actually stay in. I spent four days and three nights here, truly slowing down to absorb the unique and profound atmosphere of the Pingyang region. The courtyards feature bluestone slabs, old wooden beams, and brick-carved screen walls, with every detail revealing traces of time. Beneath its ancient exterior, the interior is incredibly comfortable, with all modern amenities. The bedding and toiletries are of high quality, and the ancient courtyards offer excellent soundproofing, ensuring a quiet and serene environment, far from the city's hustle and bustle. The butler service is meticulous and thoughtful, and they patiently explain the history behind the courtyards. By day, I explored ancient architectural treasures like Guangcheng Temple, Xiaoxitian, and Fotou Temple, searching for national heritage sites in Southern Shanxi, admiring murals and ancient sculptures, and feeling the awe-inspiring ancient civilization. By night, I returned to this grand courtyard, stepping into a gentle and tranquil past. If you're visiting Linfen to explore historical sites, this hotel is highly recommended. It truly elevates the travel experience, and I would choose to stay here again on my next visit to Linfen.

Pushing open the heavy solid wood door, the hustle and bustle were completely shut out. The lobby was filled with a faint cedar aroma, and the lighting was soft, like moonlight, instantly easing the fatigue of travel. The front desk receptionist's smile was warm, and without a word, a cup of warm welcome tea was already in hand. Entering the guest room, the view immediately opened up. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows was the dazzling city nightscape, and the interior decor was simple yet stylish. The bedding was pristine white and soft, as if clouds enveloped the body. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, the marble countertop was polished like a mirror, and the amenities exuded a fresh herbal scent.
