Du Fu Thatched Cottage is the former residence of Du Fu, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty, when he lived in Chengdu. It is located at No. 37 Qinghua Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province.
Du Fu lived here for nearly four years, writing more than 240 poems. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, the poet Wei Zhuang found the site of the cottage, rebuilt the thatched house, and preserved it. The cottage has been repaired and expanded in the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties.
The Du Fu Thatched Cottage covers an area of nearly 300 mu, still retaining the architectural layout from the reconstruction and expansion in the 13th year of Hongzhi of the Ming Dynasty (1500) and the 16th year of Jiaqing of the Qing Dynasty (1811). The screen wall, main gate, grand hall, Poetry History Hall, Chaimen, Ministry of Works Shrine are arranged along a central axis, flanked by symmetrical corridors and other auxiliary buildings. 🧡【Preparation Before Departure】
1. Purchase tickets in advance and carry valid documents
2. Check the local weather before setting out
Because of the leg injury, I didn’t see all the places, but the scenery inside was very good. When I went, there were not too many people inside, so I could experience the comfort of “stealing floating life for half a day”. There is a tea stove to drink tea. I like to sit there and listen to the birds.
The tour guide Jiangjiang service is very good, waiting for us in advance to guide us into the park. The whole process was thoroughly explained and professional, and it was a full hour and a half. This time with an 80-year-old man, Jiang Jiang took care of the rhythm of the elderly patiently and thoughtfully. In order to ensure the quality of the explanation, any tourists who wanted to join were rejected midway. In short, the experience was quite good, and I experienced a cultural trip under Jiangjiang's poem book introduction. It is recommended to enter Du Fu's Thatched Cottage or ask a tour guide.
The guide sister explained very well, telling Du Fu's life in detail and vividly, and combining many poets such as the Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty, we restored the development of Tang poetry and Song Ci for us, as well as the social and official life at that time. highly recommended! !
People come and go, small scenic spots, you can see, there are not many characteristics, it is the feeling of a small community street garden, there are too many people, the price is expensive, there is nothing to see, it feels OK, not to come, that's it, you can also make do with it, No big problem, about 10,000 square meters, nothing means I feel very amazing
Also less people means you can have a great opportunity to take some nice photos. When finishing the inside part you can take a brief walk around the area and I felt quite good when I was there. Enjoy
A must visit when you are in the city. Well maintained and plenty to explore. The best time to visit is late afternoon as you can experience less crowd and have more peaceful time in the garden
Among my top favorites in Chengdu. So serene, beautiful buildings and landscaped gardens. Very varse compound. My favorite part was the library. Recommended to come here
Take the children to see Du Fu, carry his ancient poems to see the ancient people's residence, museum, education closed loop, it is almost four o'clock, there are not many people, so it is very quiet, everywhere to take pictures and punch in is very good, many people may be crowded, suitable for the children of the Oriental Huangsiniang who stroll slowly. Necklace, good quality and cheap, very happy
