During the epidemic, there were not many people everywhere. Passing by the famous Beijing No. 81 courtyard, it was because of the horror movie, so I went to see it for a circle. The only small door was locked and took pictures across the high wall.
I entered this horror compound known for movies this evening. It usually seems that there is a doorman stopping the visitors. Today, someone came in and I followed up. I met people inside and didn't dare to speak. I took two photos and came out.
The compound, known as the Chao Inner 81, was once a school used by the Catholic Church in the United States to train missionaries in Chinese during the Republic of China. It was originally a British arsenal and was abandoned after liberation. It was called a ghost house because of rumors of a spiritual event.
No. 81 Chaoni Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing, is a bit famous. It is known as Beijing No. 81. It is actually a unit yard. There is a horror movie that uses this material. In fact, there are no ghosts, and they are all word of mouth to make No. 81 famous.
Known as the four major murderers in Beijing and the first ghost house in China, it is famous for the film Beijing 81.
[81 Chaoyangmen Inner Street] In early 1921, Zhu Dexuan, 36, a Cantonese Catholic, and a French Puyiya, 59, a chief engineer of Pinghan Railway, bought a four-acre homestead on Chaoyangmen Inner Street, where they built two French buildings. There are two buildings, a three-story building in the east and west, a two-story building in the north and south, a total of 58 rooms, there are more than a dozen tiled and gray houses in the yard, and a flower garden in the east. The house is very spacious and luxurious. Puyiya was hired in 1898 by the Qing government, surveying and developing the construction of the northern line of the Pinghan Railway. By 1906, he had become the chief engineer of the Pinghan Railway. In 1917, he was also hired by the Beiyang government as a government consultant. He was very popular with the opinions and suggestions made by Beijing Municipal Construction. And often adopted. In 1921, he married Zhu Dexu, a young man in his 20s, and built the private house with his savings. In 1930, Puyiya died, and Zhu Dexu sent the maps and literature books he had studied and mapped his life to the Beijing Library. In 1946, Zhu rented the first floor of the building on the west side to the Catholic Sisters of Austin to set up a clinic. In 1948, the Catholic Church bought the house with a billion yuan of national currency. At that time, the national currency was not worth the money. This money was not enough to buy the entire courtyard. The church promised to bear Zhu Dexu's living expenses and let her live here until she died. In 1953, the church rented some rooms in the East Building to the families of the coal mine art group. In 1957, Zhu Dexuan could not take care of himself and could not get the promises of the Catholic Church. He could only find a young nanny by himself. In 1960, it had become a large compound. Zhu Dexuan, who couldn't stand the noisy environment, quietly moved out of the courtyard, and didn't know what to do. In 1965, Chaoyang District re-repaired the house number, and changed the number 69 of Chaoyangmen Inner Street to 81, and has been used to this day. In 1994, the Catholic Church received a title certificate in Courtyard 81, but the eviction process was slow, and the residents were not moved until the government initiated the eviction work. After the eviction, the small building was assessed as a dangerous house, and it was abandoned for ten years. Until 2009, it was listed as a protected cultural relics building by the Beijing Municipal Government, and included in the "Beijing Excellent Building List", but the cost of small building maintenance was amazing, and the building was not repaired. In 2014, a film directed by Ye Weixin, Wu Zhen Yulin Xinru starred in "Beijing 81", which was red across the river and north. The small western building in the play evokes countless young people who like to explore. Everyone comes to explore the truth. Many legends have been released, and they are untidy. Recently, this courtyard ushered in the most thorough renovation, the interior and exterior of the new small foreign-style building, the doors and windows were painted, the climbing tigers on the wall have been removed, and the dilapidated and dangerous state can no longer be seen from the outside. I look forward to better protection and use here. Let future generations remember and admire this beautiful building.
The 81 courtyard of Chaoyangmen Inner Street is a household name in Beijing. I don’t know when it has been known since, and its secret legends, or haunted stories, have spread throughout Beijing, and with the hot screening of a thriller film of the same name in previous years, “Beijing 81.” Known as the first murdered house in Beijing once again became a hot topic after tea and dinner, and then attracted a swarm of countless secretaries, and its legendary color shrouded in a mysterious veil.
