    Another historic site in Shuzenji

A part of a trail that goes deep into the forest and visits a few historic graves in the area. Not much English but you can feel the time that has passed in this grave.

this thirteen warriors are the thirteen vassals of minamoto no yoriie who were assassinated.

    Original Text

There was a tomb of Jusanshi near Shigetsuden, which is said to have been built by her mother Masako Hojo to mourn the second Shogun of the Kamakura Shogunate, Minamoto no Yoriie. As the name suggests, 13 stone pagodas were built side by side. It seemed that he still supported minamoto no yoriie, the grave on the nearby stone steps.

    Original Text

The thirteen retainers were the young teens who served as retainers of minamoto no yoriie. At the foot of the mountain on the south side of the Shuzenji Onsen town, there were tombs of Shigetsuden and Minamoto no Yoriie, but in one corner around it, there was a tomb of Jusanshi. 13 The stone pagodas were lined up, and it seemed that they still supported the minamoto no yoriie of the grave on the stone steps nearby.
