The best place to stay in kuantan. They have 2 big swimming pools. Breakfast menu was really great. Will come back for longer stay. Beach fronting. Nice view

I was assigned a room at 4th floor. Since its at lower level of its 15 storey, I requested a room facing not facing the noisy main street. Good choice: view of a football filed, a mosque and part of the city. The room: The Hotel management probably believe that 1980s heyday decor is a selling point. Save for the flat screen telly, the rest still preserves its 80s setting: louvred wardrobe, bedside cabinet central console with rocker switches, blanket on top of sheets (not quilt), tiled (not marbled) bathroom floor, queen (not king) bed. They try to keep the cleanliness but the permanent stains on chairs, moulds around aircond vent, peeling furniture paint, mildew on bathroom wall are beyond the housekeeping department’s routine; the whole place needs serious makeover.

We've enjoyed staying at Hotel Sentral Kuantan , Pahang Malaysia...the room is quite big for 2 of us. Facing Kuantan River. At night we can stroll the river side and enjoy the food at the cafe and food stall along the walk way. There's a night market on the opposite side of the hotel that sells colours of things. We will stay here again on our next trip to Kuantan.

The hotel's facilities are impressive, including a fully-equipped fitness center and a refreshing swimming pool. After a long day of exploring the city, I found solace in unwinding by the poolside, soaking in the serene ambiance and indulging in some well-deserved relaxation. Furthermore, the hotel's commitment to cleanliness and safety measures is commendable, especially in light of current global circumstances. I felt reassured knowing that stringent hygiene protocols were in place throughout the property. Overall, my experience at Grand Darul Makmur Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the impeccable service to the comfortable accommodations and excellent dining options, every aspect of my stay exceeded expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kuantan, and I look forward to returning in the future.

Excellent location. Scenic river view. TV channels not as promised. Only 5 to 6 channels available. Staff are friendly but some are inefficient. Only one small shampoo bottle in the bathroom. Need to call to get body wash and soap.

Free and easy tours to Kuantan for my son and I. The location of the hotel is good but the facilities badly require refurbishing. It is getting too old. The toilet flushhandles, the bath tub and the clothes hanger are in danger of falling apart.

Although a little on the pricey side per night rate, my fmly and I overall enjoyed our 2 night stay at The Colony. I was pleasantly surprised how clean and new looking this place was. Not run down at all despite having opened for about 5 years now I think. Very well maintained which made our stay very comfortable. We like how industrial and modern looking this whole place is. Water pressure in the bathroom was good, bed linen was clean, amenities were well replenished, swimming pool was rather small but clean and decent enough to keep the kids happy. One thing weird though was that we were given 2019 dated green tea sachet but it’s already 2022 now. Receptionist said it’s actually the date of manufacturing rather than the expiry date but we didn’t want to take the risk so we didn’t consume it. And the amount of soap and shampoo given were probably too little in small slim bottles. Bathroom was a little clogged after our shower. But everything else were fine and nice. I guess the sound proof was alright as there was no noisy disturbances from other rooms. So we had uninterrupted sleep. This guesthouse has two storeys with 8 rooms in total. 4 at the top and 4 at the bottom. All in all thumbs up and if given the chance and having to travel to Kuantan again we would be more than happy to be back here to stay.

Location not really nice. so quiet at night and risau crime area because so many foreigner. Reception good but no extra bantal. this is my 2nd time, same answer - bantal extra habis🤣

Good points - Clean room. Clean bathroom. Bed was comfy. Bedsheets was nice and clean. Bath towels were clean and fluffy. Plenty of lifts. Shower was hot. Breakfast buffet was expected for the price paid. Bad points - Room was small. Had a full length window facing another block of rooms. Unable to open the glass window. Aircon was not cold - woke up a few times feeling hot. Unable to control the aircon. Bath mat was not provided. Carpet in the corridor outside looks like it has not been vacuumed for months. Keycard was a bit difficult to work - had to keep swiping it to open the door.
