Cining Palace

Today, a few blue bricks were found near the gate of Cining Palace. When I looked carefully, I found that the brick was engraved with words. After I identified it, I found that it was a kiln for burning blue bricks. One left only one "bao" word, and the other had three words on it, probably: Yu (or Le?) kiln.

The Dongguan Room of Cining Palace is now the Xiude Baishi Hall, showing 64 statues of Baishi Buddha from the Northern Wei Dynasty to the Sui and Tang Dynasties, unearthed from the site of Xiude Temple in Quyang, Hebei, in 1958. These statues were incomplete and destroyed during the Tang Wuzong period, the third Buddha disaster in Chinese history.

The plaque of the sculpture hall was proposed by Mr. Guo Moruo, then president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1958. On August 31, 1958, the Forbidden City built the first special sculpture hall in the history of the Chinese museum. It was praised by all walks of life and was closed for some reason. In 2015, it was moved to Cining Palace and reopened.

Cining Palace is located on the west side of Longzongmen, the west road outside the Forbidden City, and was built in the 15th year of Ming Jiajing (1536), on the former site of Renshou Palace, and the Great Good Palace was removed and built. The Qing Dynasty and Ming Dynasty, Shunzhi ten years (1653), Kangxi twenty-eight years (1689), Qianlong sixteen years (1751) were all repaired, and it was used as the main palace where the Queen Mother lived. Cining Palace is mainly a hall for the Queen Mother to hold a major ceremony, where the Queen Mother's birthday, the emblem, the treasure, the princess married, are held here to celebrate the ceremony. Especially when the queen's birthday, the emperor personally took the public to pay tribute, and danced with the nearest emperor, and the etiquette was very grand.

The location of Cining Palace in the Forbidden City, the west road outside the inner court near Xihuamen, but it does not belong to the category of the East and West Six Palaces. From the Ming Dynasty, Cining Palace was the residence of the previous princess. From the Qing Dynasty, it became the residence of the Queen Mother and the Queen Mother. In addition, the emperors of all ages had to rule the country with filial piety. So it is self-contained with the configuration of the temple gate, the hall, the hall, the Buddha hall, the garden, etc. A separate courtyard was formed. The Grand Palace of Cining is also a hall for the queen's queen.
