Bergamo is a lovely city for business or pleasure. Booked Rame Suites as it was close to the old city. Excellent location, close to the funicular, or just a quick 10 minute walk to the old city. Spacious very clean room and bathroom. Would stay there again.

Pros : 1, Just one block away from Bergamo train station. 2, As located on side street, pretty quiet 3, Room spacious 4, Check in / out efficient Cons: 1, Room decoration dated and tired. 2, Supermarket is about 15 minutes walk away. The “in-house” food and drink counter only has limited choices Bus stop for taking bus to Citta Alta ( the Upper - Old Town ) is only a short walk from hotel. Bus is frequent and fare is euro 1.50. Journey is about 15 minutes to the top. Alternatively you can also get off half way of the journey and take the Funicular ( cable car ) to go up to Citta Alta. I would recommend this NH Bergamo Hotel.

I have never been treated in such a terrible and humiliating way in a hotel in my entire life, even though I travel regularly for work and pleasure and I stay in all sorts of hotels, including allegedly four star hotels such as Best Western Hotel Piemontese. Without any notice or information, I was thrown out of the hotel with my 3-year old son, my luggage and personal belongings having been packed into trash/laundry bags that awaited me at the reception desk after my return from a day out. The receptionists alleged I had inflicted damage to the room and was denied access to the hotel. They did not explain the nature of the alleged damage. My son did pee accidentally in the night in the bed (which was protected by a mattress protection) and a bit on the floor. I took the bed sheets off to dry. I cannot see how this would amount to any damage and even if, there are polite ways to address this kind of matters with the customer rather than throw them away and pack and throw their very personal belongings in plastic bags. I was denied any opportunity to discuss with the hotel manager and I was shouted at by extremely rude reception desk staff. Needless to say, I was offered no assistance in relocating to another place, and this on a rainy December night (with a kind and luggage). Thanks to this experience, I will never ever stay in a Best Western hotel again, and I will continue to strongly discourage my contacts and friends from booking a stay at the Bergamo hotel.

A last minute break took us here. It is only 7 minutes walk from the railway station where the airport bus drops off. Around €2.4 euros each on bus. An early flight back meant a taxi that was only €18 (booked by reception and arrived spot on time) The hotel was very clean and all you need for a short stay. Friendly helpful staff. There's a good range of food, drinks and cosmetics for sale in reception. We were room only but if you had breakfast they provided a tray to the room with coffee, pastry and fruit juice (buffet currently closed due to c19) The walk to the funicular fir the Alta cita is around a mile away so not bad and very easy to find Great stay

Hotel Citta dei Mille is an amazing hotel that has a wonderful location in Bergamo within walking distance to the train station and also close to the airport. High quality hotel service. The rooms are in excellent, clean condition. The lounge area takes you to the world of luxury. At the reception you will find a warm welcome and maximum assistance in resolving all issues regarding your staying at the hotel, even a refreshing drink immediately :) The breakfast is great - special thanks to the staff, that service is worth the reward! I felt my vacation has started the best possible way ))) Family atmosphere and professionalism - I highly recommend this place. Amazing choice for all new guests, good luck to the owners!

I’ve only stayed in a hostel once prior to this trip & usually don’t even consider checking out hostels for accommodation when travelling but booked this hostel, based on the recommendation of a friend that lives in Bergamo. What a great recommendation that turned out to be for all 3 of us that stayed. Easy to find, just a short walk from the train station. A very friendly & informative check in & we were quickly in the lift up to our floor with our room key & a fob (needed to access the building after, I think, 01.00 but it could have been earlier). Our room was big & clean, fairly basic but still a lot better than expected. With a laminate floor, 4 single beds, smoke alarm, air con, wall mounted tv, dresser, full length mirror, safe & plenty of electric sockets. There were secure lockers in the room with the padlock costing 2.00 Euros. No issue with noise from inside or outside of the building & a number of windows allowed an abundance of natural light. Electric window shutters & blinds kept that light out in the mornings when sleep was the priority. The bathroom was a nice size & well equipped with a laminate floor, shower cubicle that wasn’t the biggest, shower head & hose on rail with easy to control flow & temp & with great water pressure & plenty of hot water, bidet, wall vent, window, wall mounted hairdryer, spare electrical socket, small sachets of hair/bodywash & towels that were changed daily. Breakfast was served in the adjoining bistro from 07.30 to 09.30 but it was noticeable that they rushed to start clearing & cleaning from approx 09.10. Two breakfast choices , both buffet. Italian, which was basically just coffee & a croissant & cost 2.00 Euros or continental, which had coffee, tea, orange & pineapple juices, mini waffles, ham slices, cheese, yoghurts, fresh bread rolls, dry breads, croissants, corn flakes, choco pops, fresh whole fruits, jam & honey & which cost the unbelievably low price of just 4 Euros. The bar in the hostel didn’t seem to have too much activity. I had to go to reception & staff from there would come to serve me. Reasonably priced with 33cls bottles of Peroni & other Italian beers costing 2.50 euros each. We could also bring in our own beer or wine ( & food ) from a local supermarket, so long as we cleaned up afterwards. There is a large communal room with comfortable seating that was great for relaxing & meeting & chatting to other travellers with a large screen/tv & table football which cost 50 cents per game. Also in this room, large left luggage lockers which cost 1 Euro for 6 hours. There is a computer room, free for guests to use, with 3 pcs. Car parking, I believe, was free. There is a very nice outside area which would be great in summer for sitting out & chilling. There were recycling waste bins all over the building, impossible to miss. Available to purchase were deodorants, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors & shaving foam, toilet rolls & ladies sanitary products. Umbrellas were also availabl

had one night stay after late arrival to Bergamo airport before going to Milan next day. It was walking distance to both old town (citta alta) and railway station, which was convenient. Room was reasonably well appointed, and so was the bathroom. Bathroom shower has issue similar to many other hotels - with shower controls located behind the showered - so one have choice of being sprayed with either cold or hot water (depending which tap one turn first). It was uncomfortably warm without any means to address this except opening the window. Sound insulation also hot great as one can hear what's going on in the room next door Breakfast was plentiful and absolutely worth paying for. Biggest inconvenience was the lift which is clearly small for the hotel of this size - as lift cabin size only allowed 2 person to fit, it created waits at the busy times. If price is right, I would not have any issues staying there again.

I stayed here for two nights on the advice of a friend who lives near Bergamo and while the price was more than reasonable, as a solo traveller I wondered if I should pick a cheap hotel. I'm glad I didn't. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was and remained a good temperature and the complementary breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice of food options and a relaxed atmosphere. However, even if service isn't that important (after all, will you be spending much time in the hotel other than to sleep and for breakfast) the location is unbeatable with the funicular taking you to Citta' Alta a short, 3-5 minute walk away and the same time gets you into the heart of the shopping area of Citta' Bassa. When I return to Bergamo I will book here again due to the helpful staff and easy access to the main areas of the city.

This our second visit was a wonderful experience from the minute we were greeted warmly by the very warm and helpful receptionist ( Blany I think his name was ) who went out of his way, to make at our request, recommendations for things to do and where to eat in the area. The hotel situated in a very scenic location is perfectly placed for all local forms of transport links, Bergamo old town and nice walks. We were once again delighted with our room and whilst breakfast due to Covid restrictions is served in room or outside terrace the choice and quality is first class. Our thanks to all at Le Funi who contributed to our enjoyment over 3 days in the area.

Boutique hotel in Bergamo new town, round corner from main shopping street. Old town walkable, though up hill so taxi might be advised. Old building tastefully renovated and modernised in largely 1920s style. Very charming. High-ceilinged generous bedroom, with excellent modern bathroom. No street noise at all. No parking at building, but owner liaised with us, parked and returned car to us, although parking does cost extra and is a little bit steep. Breakfast possible outside in charming courtyard. Delicious eggs benedict a house speciality. Owner managed, and owners couldn't have been more helpful. Would definately stay again if in Bergamo, and Bergamo is stunning...
