we booked a city view room and was upgraded to a pool view room, where it's less quite and the rooms more exquisite.
hotel breakfast restaurant overlooks Kandy lake, giving the morning meal another layer of admiration as we dine in wood furnitured environment.
location is superb, Kandy Lake and Buddha Tooth Temple just across the street and the Big Buddha Temple less than 25mins stroll away.
lots of good food places around for one to explore and eat.
rooms are old but charming that way, the wooden floors creak and is uneven but that's the fun of staying in a hotel with almost 200years of history.

The views are unbeatable: The lobby and pool face the Mahaweli River directly. Sitting by the river in the evening with a drink, watching the sunset, was absolutely the highlight of my entire Kandy trip.
The pool is a definite plus: That infinity-edge pool stretching out to the river is incredibly photogenic, and the water is very clean, making for a wonderfully comfortable swim.
Great dining: Both the breakfast and dinner buffets offered a wide variety of dishes, including local specialties and Western options. The view is very good, the environment is OK, the building is very distinctive, including the decoration of the room, but the worst thing is that the hygiene is very worrying, the door is a bit old, the refrigerator is so dirty that you can't get it off, and there are stains under the toilet seat There were urine stains and hair on the bed. The bed was two beds pushed together and it was uncomfortable to sleep on. The quilt was a sheet and was too tight to pull out. It was very uncomfortable to sleep on. A wonderful stay with absolutely breathtaking views. Wherever you look, you’re surrounded by rolling mountains, and the grounds are beautiful with lots of native wildlife; you really feel at one with nature.
The service was exceptional throughout. All staff were attentive, kind, and genuinely eager to help. A special mention to the reception team, especially Jenovia, who was incredibly friendly and helpful, showing us around and making us feel very welcome from the start. The hotel is also very family-friendly, with a small play park and thoughtful touches like towel animals from housekeeping (Ravi) that made our little girl’s day.
Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, including both Western and Sri Lankan options. A few very small improvements (such as having bacon readily available, colder milk at breakfast, and ice with poolside drinks) would make the experience truly five-star, but these are minor details.
Rooms were clean and comfortable with all amenities provided, and overall the level of service really stood out. If you’re looking for stunning views, a peaceful setting, and excellent hospitality, this is a fantastic choice and one I’d happily recommend.FromPHP 2,872

Kangti is a mountain city, and the houses are basically built on the mountain. This hotel is actually like a resort, by the river, there are no attractions and no residents next to it. The river is flowing rapidly, the flowers are fragrant, and the sound is quite lively. At night, the hotel is dark and dark, and find a small supermarket to buy something at least three kilometers away. The accommodation building seems to be three or four floors. There is a small swimming pool in the garden. Sitting on the balcony, the eyes are full of green mountain and garden views. First of all, breakfast comes with curry or toast fruit bread.
The location is quite far from Lake Candy, so it's uncomfortable, but it's good to feel the local culture.
The facilities are good because the gym and swimming pool are well maintained. In particular, there were few people using the swimming pool and gym, so I wanted to do it alone.
The staff were all friendly and it was so nice, but when the two Chinese came to sightseeing as a group and stayed, it was too noisy and annoying.
