We spent 16 nights over Christmas and New Year at the Fariones and had a great time. The Hotel is beautifully and tastefully renovated with subtle luxury in a classic mid- century design which you would typically find in smaller boutique hotels. Many old features of the traditional Fariones Hotel were kept which all together provides a very comfortable and classy and elegant atmosphere without being stuffy or fussy. The grounds and garden resemble top luxury resorts in Thailand or the Maldives with plenty of palm trees, exotic gardens and many different and private areas for lounging, sun bathing, relaxing and so on. All 3 restaurants have their own style with great food and service. All rooms have sea views with a high level of comfort, design and decoration The sports center 2 minutes walk away although a little older offered everything needed and more... The hygiene concept was professional and taken seriously Hotel Director Jörg and his team made great efforts during Christmas and New Year with a classy programme of dining, entertainment, live music and daily piano sessions which all in all provided a very festive atmosphere. The multinational team of the Fariones displayed a very positive spirit. The hotel opened only a few month before the holiday season and it seemed that everone was exited to be back in business ater 4 yers of renovation. Despite the reopening there was not a single negative service moment in over 2 weeks. Just to name a few staff members who made it a special stay for us: Arnaud, Emilie and Javier from reception. Fransisco, Anna, Miriam and Elke from Guest relations. Marco, Elizabeth, Veronica, Ivano, Isaac and Julius from service Harriet and Patrick from Kaori The Lobby bar team Thanks to the Fariones team for a great Holiday I wish you all the best for the co ming months in this challenging pandemic times. We are looking forward to comin back at easter! A.T. (#624/625)

Always heard mixed reviews of the Canary Islands but having read about Lanzarote we thought it may work for us as it’s less developed and we can avoid the mainstream crowds that tend to go to Tenerife. Either way we weren’t expecting much, but given COVID we had to get out from London and with a 2 year old this was a convenient direct flight with sunny weather. I booked the Fariones even though it was much more expensive (like 3x) the average but this was our only holiday in the past year and the last one before our second baby in March so we splurged and booked a suite. This was honestly one of the most beautiful and well designed hotels we’ve ever stayed at and having lived in New York for 10 years we’re not easily impressed. Not only was it brand new but it was so tastefully done and perfectly designed from an accessibility perspective. The service was the best part, we were made to feel special everyday and ended up extending our 5 day trip twice to stay there for almost two weeks. One of our best nights was in the Cuevo Dona Juan which is like a speakeasy underground mixology bar hidden beneath the hotel. Ivan the bartender makes amazing drinks there, and if you stop by I highly recommend the black negroni. Only recommendation would be they update their playlist, but what a beautifully designed bar. Thank you to all the staff especially Elke, Wallace, Anna, the manager and all the staff at the poolside restaurant where we’d eat everyday and the housekeeping staff which took such good care of us and our daughter. We hope to see you again soon!

Reviews From Real Travelers
We took a holiday away to a favourited location of ours, Lanzarote and decided to stay at the AEQUORA suites as it looked professional and relaxing enough to get away from stress. However little did we know a stress free holiday was going to become more stressful. One night as we were coming back from a walk towards the sea front, my mother used one of the ”disabled friendly” access ramps. She fell backwards on property of the hotel and has now become even more disabled with issues to walk and pelvis problems. She got an MRI at our local hospital yesterday and has confirmed that she has dislodged discs in her spine with nerve issues due to the fall, on a ramp that was supposed to be disable friendly. We spoke to one of the management who was lovely, but tried to blame the local Lanzarote council for the ramp and the fall. However the fall happened on the grounds and they're not willing to take responsibility for the incident. We were told to go to the hospital in Lanzarote but my mother declined as she has spent so much time in hospital recently and wanted a break. Not only did the fall happen once, but TWICE!!! Can't really label this hotel being disabled friendly if all it does is make the disabled, more disabled. Another problem we encountered was discrimination from the staff at AEQUORA, this doesn't apply to everyone but specifically the female assistant manager. With my mother being bound to a wheelchair for long distance and a walking stick for short distance because she has walking issues, we wanted to sit at a double table made for four, but only three of us were attending that table. We needed a bigger table and a quieter walk way so my mother doesn't get knocked and has a fall (Common occurrence here). However we were approached by a rude assistant manager who started saying how we weren't allowed to sit here and had to sit at a small 2 person table for 3 in a area with a lot of footfall, a tripping hazard for my mother and even my elderly grandfather. Me and my grandfather tried to explain to her that we needed to sit at a four person table (even though there is 3 of us) due to my mothers disability, which she rudely ignored and started putting her finger in me and my grandfathers face then ignored us and started talking down to my mother. For which my mother couldn't stick up for herself due to not having a voice at the minute due to medical reasons. I couldn't believe my eyes after the amount we have paid to come here, and the labels this hotel establishes itself with. After both these incidents we spoke our concerns to the Guest experience manager who was incredible. He gave us a table for 4 for us 3, and had a technician to come repair my mothers wheelchair temporarily which has now fully fallen apart due to the falls which occurred on site at the AEQUORA suites. I think this hotel is great for kids and families as long as there is no disabilities. Which is quite disappointing to see as you would think most places would be no

Great location, a few minutes walk from the beach. Shops and bus stops very close by. We had a ground floor apartment in the quiet (adults) area. Good terrace with sun loungers provided. Very fast wifi in room. We were half-board, the choices at meal times were very good (although I am not a foodie). One bonus we weren’t aware of was that the restaurant we used was adults only. Would definitely recommend.

Reviews From Real Travelers
This hotel is in a lovely quiet location. It has great amenities including several pools and restaurants. The best thing is the staff who are fantastic, friendly and very helpful. Food is good but not great. We felt they would benefit from including daily specials to boost variety. It’s worth upgrading to Preferred for the access to private pool area and restaurants. One strange thing is that despite being adults only most of the pool areas are very shallow so not suitable for swimming. We would recommend eating at the sushi bar Gotham. The chef is brilliant, very charismatic and makes some fantastic sushi. Our trip went well for 8 days but then the hotel was invaded by a massive group of Americans on a corporate reward group. This turned a hotel that was supposed to be romantic and for couples into a noisy, shindig. The noise levels increased with the alcohol consumption from late afternoon until late night. It was a very disappointing end to what had been a lovely holiday. Surely a hotel that advertises it is for couples should not be offering mass corporate stays.

We wondered whether it would live up to the 5 star rating and it certainly did. Great staff, lovely large and open hotel and grounds and spotlessly clean. We were upgraded to a suite which was fabulous. Unfirtunately the spa was faulty and not available but we asked for and were offered alternative treatments. The food is excellent - wide choice of menu and great quality. Good entertainment in the central area and the complimentary/inclusive Privilege Preferred lounge is a super extra (complimentary fizz and snacks throughout the day). 100% recommended.

Not sure what to expect as it's been many years since our last stay, but the 10 days we spent here were amazing. The staff are all so friendly and accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. Very clean throughout and comfortable bed and pillows. Food is of a good standard and plentiful and even though the hotel was very full there was never a wait for a table and the bars were well organized. The sunbeds were very uncomfortable and a bit close together , as a partially disabled person found no room between them for easy access. Very much enjoyed the two speciality restaurants on site. Special shout-out to Esnella? in the dining room who was so upbeat and friendly and understood my attempts at Spanish!

I would like there to be a rating between AVERAGE and VERY GOOD, and this hotel was above average, and below very good - there needs to be a GOOD rating- but this is trip advisors fault not the hotels! I stayed with a friend, in a junior suite 2-9th June 2023. Let’s start with the room. We arrived around midday and our room was ready – hurrah- super friendly, knowledgeable receptionist checked us in, gave us a load of info and a map and off we went! The excitement turned into a little bit of disappointment when we realised that instead of the 2 single beds pushed together, as depicted in every single solitary photo of a junior suite, it was one double bed – not ideal for friends holidaying together. The shower was VAST – very impressive but it was let down by the grout on the floor of the bathroom which was grubby and could do with replacing. The room itself was clean, big, and bed comfortable, with air con, tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge. Cleaned daily (except cups etc which were randomly not) – by exceptionally friendly cleaning staff. We had an issue with the bathroom on the first night, whereby we created a paddling pool in the shower room due to a blocked drain! -Quick trip to reception and super friendly Mr fix it man was with us in 5 minutes, fixing the issue, which never reoccurred. The restaurant had a fab selection of differing foods, always something to suit all tastes, and a chef always cooking you up something – eggs/omelettes/fresh fish/chicken etc. Mountains of fresh salad, fruit and bread – and snacks pretty much all day! Restaurant staff were all amazingly polite, friendly, and attentive. Bars were what you would expect of a 3*, local wine, spirits, premade cocktails, and once again amazingly polite, friendly, attentive staff. The pool was lovely and warm, with nice views looking down to the sea – never had an issue with getting a sunbed, but there is limited space around the pool area. I believe the other side of Flora is much quieter if you don’t like 4000 inflatables, and their young owner’s noise. The hotel is on a hill…… very pleasant stroll down, under 3 euro in a taxi back – not an issue at all. With a taxi rank just outside the hotel getting back to the airport was nice and easy to (approx. 20 euro). There was only one real thing that let this hotel down, the entertainment- whilst some of the live music acts were great the male half of the entertainment team (which consists of 2 people), really did not have his mind on the job at all. If you are going to work in entertainment you need to be enthusiastic 24/7, with both adults and kids, or they will lose interest fast. Which I witnessed on several occasions. Don’t put out water polo nets and walk away to chat to another member of staff, not even asking if anyone wants to play, don’t do 1 song at the mini disco, not engage the kids(more than once), and again walk away to chat to more staff members, don’t roll your eyes when someone asks you to repeat a qui

So nearly a 5* review. Just returned from this beautiful hotel after a 10 day stay and a brilliant holiday. Peurto del Carmen is lovley. Something for everyone. The Positives. The pool, hotel, chill out balcony, views are just amazing. The rooms are spotless and the breakfast area and food cannot be faulted. The breakfast/bar staff are amazing too. Had a couple of lunches here as too from the snack menu and responsibly priced. 4 euro a pint of beer 2 euro for a coffee. Sun beds were easy to obtain. I think they have put more in since other reviewers had complained about lack of them. The negatives, and this should not put you off coming but it is why i cannot give it a 5* review. On arrival you are told that if you want to use the safe its now 4 euro a day this has increased from 3 euro a day. So that would have been 40 euro then for us. If if you want WiFi in your room its 2 euro a day. So before they give you a room key they wanted 60 euro off me. Not a chance. This should be provided for free in a 4* Hotel. Luckily i had read previous reviews so bought a lock for my case and topped up my data before i came. Also if you have a late return flight they will find you room to have a shower but again only if you pay 30 euro until 3pm or 40 euro after this. Come on !! Surely you can find a room that people can spend 20 mins in to have a quick shower and a change of clothes before a long journey home. Other Hotels provide time slots for this. We ended up getting changed in the lobby toilets which to be fair were big enough for it not to be a problem. Overall the positives by far outweighed the nagatives, and i would deffinatley stay here again.

We spent 10 days there early in July and will be gong back. The rooms were clean and reasonably comfortable. All the members of staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful, we didn't go to the nightly entertainment much but what we did see was well put together. The food was some of the best we have had in a multitude of 4 star hotels we have stayed in. Although we had no problems with sunbeds but there did seem to a shortage mid morning, it was good to see a member of hotel staff go around and clear long term but not used towels from beds. The location of the hotel was OK close to the beach and a few shops and supermarket.

Fabulous hotel. We’re here at the moment and really enjoying it. First time at this hotel. We were upgraded on arrival so that was a bonus, and our apartment is great. The beds are massive and really comfortable, as were the pillows - very important to us!! Nice to have fridge, microwave and tea/coffee making equipment. Lovely power shower. Apartment spacious with a massive terrace - table & chairs & 2 sunbeds. Everywhere and everything is spotless. Pool area is great - I like that the sunbeds have plenty of space between them. There are also sofas along the back in the shade. Great access to beach area through the back gate. There is a book swap library with a nice quiet seating area. Great lounge - the seats are so comfortable, and entertainment from 9 pm every evening. The hotel staff, without exception, are so friendly, efficient and accommodating.. Dining room is good with plenty of choice, and I like that you can eat outside as well. We’ve been coming to this resort for over 25 years and this is the best place we’ve stayed.

This is our second stay here, came last January and although there has been improvements, not in all areas and cleaning standards have dropped. Firstly the good bits: Pool area and pool bar are beautiful, spacious and clean having recently been refurbished. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Communal areas clean and fresh. Location perfect. The not so good bits: We were allocated a room with disabled facilities firstly , which on the face of it seemed roomy and bright, however the shower/ wet room flooded on the first night, all into room and corridor, the lovely reception lady was helpful with towels to mop up, but the problem was lack of cleaning the plug hole was full of black hair which I had to remove in order to solve the problem. The room had no table or chairs no where to sit and have a drink or snack, no towel rail to air towels, a light in the bathroom on a sensor that went in and stayed on forever it seems. The next morning we moved rooms and the drains smelled, the plug in the bath didn’t drain away and was rusty, the hand rail on the wall was rusty, the shower curtain had seen better days and towels were threadbare. The room was cleaned once which we knew but it was a quick clean as the floor was still dusty and one of the bedsheets had a hole in it.The lampshades above the bed had an inch of dust on them I never felt clean at all , such a shame as the pool area and the rest are good .I know it’s 2 star but needs some attention and upkeep.
