Big floor-to-ceiling windows offer sea views right from bed. The private terrace has a ladder to the sea—so convenient for a swim! - Delicious food: Multiple restaurants with global dishes. The main restaurant’s buffet has fresh, juicy seafood; local curry chicken is flavorful; Italian pasta is authentic and tasty. - Fun activities: Snorkeling lets you see colorful fish and coral. Try surfing for excitement or fishing for relaxation. The spa is perfect for unwinding. - Fantastic service: Staff were warm from check-in, helped with luggage, and answered questions quickly. The hotel is super beautiful. The housekeeper Sue is very considerate and smiling. The hotel room I chose has direct access to the sea, and the sea is super clear. In addition, the hotel and the housekeeper were very thoughtful in their arrangements. Knowing that it was my wife and I's wedding anniversary, they arranged a cake and decorations, which was very thoughtful. The hotel offers many activities, such as snorkeling and fashion shows. It’s super fun. I really want to go there again!

We arrived on a late flight, and was picked up at Velana Airport by Samann Grand hotel staff. It is a free airport transfer service provided by the hotel and was well appreciated. Normally, it will cost up to $25 USD per person for such service. Upon reaching the hotel about 15mins away from the airport, welcome drinks were offered at the concierge. The beach was just 5 mins walk from the hotel, but hotel was surrounded by 2 mosques. Early morning (5-6am) prayers were very loud, as the speakers were out facing towards the streets. As it was just an overnight stay, it was value for the price paid. Additional charges were charged for an extra bed and govt tourist tax. Breakfast offered was so-so. No complains.

It feels quite close to Male Airport, take a taxi and cross a bridge, then shuttle in the alleys, it takes about 10-15 minutes to arrive. The boss is a German who has lived in the Maldives for more than ten years. Two days before the arrival day, the boss Thomas began to contact us by email, including when we arrived, how much luggage, how many people and so on. After customs clearance on the day of arrival, Thomas' staff has already picked up the guests with a sign at the hotel entrance (free pick-up service is included in my reservation). He greeted us at the door before arriving at his small hotel. Very polite and caring. If there is no problem with your communication needs, the boss Thomas will give you a lot of tips for traveling on the island, such as how much local currency is appropriate to exchange, what local regulations are there, and so on. It is very important that this hotel should be the best Thai restaurant on Male Island. Very authentic thanks to the owner Thomas should have some stories in Thailand, there is no gossip about the specifics. If you eat a meal in person, the boss will recommend and serve you personally. Don't order too much. The next day we went to the resort island. It was a very pleasant day to stay in this hotel on Male Island. It is very convenient to buy swimming goggles, clothes, shoes and other necessary items in the hotel. In Muslim countries, alcohol and tobacco are prohibited, you can ask the boss.

The service is very good, warm and thoughtful The room is average, not clean enough, the sheets and bedding have stains that have not been cleaned, the hot water in the bathroom is intermittently warm, and there is no hair dryer What was more surprising was that there was a Chinese restaurant on the street near the sea when I turned left when I went out. The authentic beef dumplings saved my stomach.

First of all they didn’t arrange anyone to pick us from airport and we had to go by ourselves and carry 4 luggage with a small kid ! And they said it’s trip’s app problem! Room very small and view to the another building’s window. Room had no slippers , soap , shampoo and other necessities, called them 4 times and asked , they said ok we will come and check but finally they didn’t until we checked out ! Price not match with the hotel’s quality Breakfast was ok restaurant’s food was great

We use The Somerset for one night only at the end of our holiday at Angsana Velavaru as we had an early flight the next morning. From the moment we booked the hotel were brilliant assuring me of our stay and the fact they offer free transport to and from the airport and even communicate with the island hotel to ensure they will pick you up on time. All the staff were excellent and we ate in their restaurant in the evening and food was first class and well priced but also as Male is classed as a local island there is no alcohol. I really recommend this hotel for your pre flight or after flight it is excellent. Roger Chalk

This hotel is on a small island near the city of Male. The map of this island shows Villingili, which is called Vilingmale by locals. It is the same place. The hotel is very clean and the front desk lady is very considerate. After leaving the airport, take a taxi for 6 US dollars to the pier of this island, and then buy a boat ticket for less than 1 US dollar. It takes 10-15 minutes to get to the island. After leaving the pier, walk 2 minutes to the hotel. It seems that you can also take a ferry from the airport to Male, and then take a ferry from Male to this island. But I haven't done this, I took a taxi. This island is very quiet, there are no cars parked on the roadside, but no one is driving. The movement on the island is basically electric vehicles, bicycles, and walking. There are all kinds of facilities on the island, and young people basically work in the city of Male. It is very suitable to find a quiet place and observe the life of people.

The receptionist attitude is very good and patient, because the plane can't stay in the hotel booked in the evening and can't cancel the hotel that was booked at Male Airport temporarily. It is already early in the morning in China, but it was confirmed to be fast, but when I checked in, the hotel did not receive the money and I paid for it! After reading the booking form to the front desk for a long time, it didn't work! I waited until Male's time was more than zero. I guess it was too late to let me check in first. This is kind of humane! But when I checked out the next day I was asked to pay again! I showed the confirmation to the front desk and asked me to wait 5 minutes for almost half an hour. Online contact Ctrip customer service allows the supplier to contact the hotel by phone. Hotels in Male are only suitable for overnight flights to overnight! so so
