This hotel is super conveniently located, just 100 meters to the right after exiting Shizuoka Station's North Exit. There's a supermarket and mall right next door, making dining and shopping incredibly easy. It's also within walking distance of Surugaya and a few other malls. While the hotel facilities are a bit older, they are very well-maintained, clean, and hygienic – the bedding, in particular, was incredibly comfortable. We booked a triple room for two adults and two children, and it came with three beds and enough space to open our suitcases flat. The room was very spacious.From€46

The hotel is relatively new and the facilities are decent, seemingly quite upscale. However, the service completely shattered my long-held belief that Japan has the best service. The electric kettle in my room wasn't working; I wanted to make coffee, but the water temperature never increased beyond a lukewarm setting. I informed the front desk, and a young, delicate-looking woman came. After I explained, she opened the lid and said, 'This is hot water.' I poured it into a cup, and she touched it, saying, 'That's how it is.' I told her, 'This is only 40-50 degrees Celsius, how can I brew tea or coffee with this? I need boiling temperature.' She replied that she couldn't do that. I asked her what temperature a kettle should boil to, and she said there was no standard! I then told her the kettle was broken and asked her to replace it, to which she said they didn't have any. I ended up pouring a bottle and a half of cold water into the kettle, and when it still didn't heat up, she finally took it away. Throughout the entire interaction, her expression was blank and her attitude was slow and indifferent. I used to tell my friends that Japanese people's warm service isn't necessarily because they like you, but because their upbringing and professional ethics don't allow them to be rude. Now, I've witnessed such service in a 4/5-star hotel.From€42

It's okay even on the morning of the day, 1.600 Viking style in yen, pickled tuna, and Chikuzen-ni with plenty of chicken are quite solid. Very satisfied! A particular highlight was the young Chinese lady at the front desk. She's Korean Chinese, speaks Korean, and offered incredibly detailed information with a wonderfully kind and approachable demeanor. Breakfast was very satisfying. The specialty Shizuoka oden was varied, and there was also buta. The konjac and mugo were especially delicious. One thing I was disappointed about was that there was no fruit at all. Also, the hotel's room assignment system doesn't take requests into account at all. I requested a room with a nice view in advance, but they had already assigned me a room with a parking lot view on the second floor. They didn't assign it upon arrival; the room number was already written on the check-in form. I stopped by to store my luggage before check-in time, and it was already there. I went before the 3 o'clock check-in time, but it was useless; it was a pre-arranged plan. The female staff member was sarcastic, and her attitude was evident in her expression and tone.
She's Japanese, but she speaks Korean fluently. She didn't even realize it, and she kept speaking in Japanese. I've stayed at many hotels in Japan, but this is the first time I've experienced such service.
Wow!! Contrary to the hotel photo, there's no sauna in the women's spa! I booked because of the sauna, but I was surprised. It might be helpful to double-check our website.
This was my first time staying at the Kuretake Inn chain, but if you don't care about the staff's friendly service and detailed facility information, it's fine. I'm not sure I'll return to the Kuretake Inn chain.From€29

I booked this hotel in a rush late at night after missing my train, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The self check-in was quick and convenient, and the front desk staff were professional and polite. The room itself was clean and tidy. While it's quite compact – much like an Ibis hotel in China – the size wasn't an issue for me.
