My brother and I stayed at Hotel Associa Shizuoka during our trip, and it was absolutely fantastic. The location couldn't be better – it's directly connected to JR Shizuoka Station, which made traveling around the region so easy and convenient.
The view was absolutely breathtaking! Our room was on one of the upper floors, and we had a stunning panoramic view of Mount Fuji right from our window. Waking up to that sight every morning was unforgettable. The city views at night were equally beautiful.
The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The beds were great, and we slept really well. The bathroom was also well-equipped and modern.
The breakfast was excellent – a wonderful buffet with both Japanese and Western options, all fresh and delicious. It was the perfect way to fuel up for a day of exploring.
The staff were professional, polite, and always ready to help with a smile. They made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived.
Overall, Hotel Associa Shizuoka offered us amazing value, incredible views, and top-notch service. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shizuoka!From€58

The hotel is relatively new and the facilities are decent, seemingly quite upscale. However, the service completely shattered my long-held belief that Japan has the best service. The electric kettle in my room wasn't working; I wanted to make coffee, but the water temperature never increased beyond a lukewarm setting. I informed the front desk, and a young, delicate-looking woman came. After I explained, she opened the lid and said, 'This is hot water.' I poured it into a cup, and she touched it, saying, 'That's how it is.' I told her, 'This is only 40-50 degrees Celsius, how can I brew tea or coffee with this? I need boiling temperature.' She replied that she couldn't do that. I asked her what temperature a kettle should boil to, and she said there was no standard! I then told her the kettle was broken and asked her to replace it, to which she said they didn't have any. I ended up pouring a bottle and a half of cold water into the kettle, and when it still didn't heat up, she finally took it away. Throughout the entire interaction, her expression was blank and her attitude was slow and indifferent. I used to tell my friends that Japanese people's warm service isn't necessarily because they like you, but because their upbringing and professional ethics don't allow them to be rude. Now, I've witnessed such service in a 4/5-star hotel.From€42

It's just two blocks from Shizuoka Station South Exit, making it very easy to find. The twin room we booked was spacious enough. Breakfast offered both Japanese and Western styles, with generous portions and excellent taste. The staff were incredibly friendly and proactive, always greeting guests. They even lent us umbrellas when it rained. Two bottles of water were provided daily in the room, and a selection of other toiletries was also available.From€30

The location is excellent, very close to Shimizu Station, and right next to the Shimizu Ginza shopping street. It's about a 15-minute walk to Shimizu Port. The room was bigger than I expected, and the bathroom and toilet were separate. You can hear the train at night, but it wasn't too bothersome. The front desk staff spoke very good English.From€30

Excellent location within walking distance to major tourist locations and shopping and dining districts as well as public transports. Carpark is available across the road at 1100 Yen for 24 hours. I chose room with breakfast for 2 and it is well value for money. The spa, though small, but is well kept and much undertilized. In fact, I am the only one using the spa. Environment, services and facilities are all up to good standards. Guests can also have free access to the coffee and soft drinks machine around the clock.From€41

It is located not really close to the Shin-Shizuoka Shizuoka station, yet both are in the walking distance. Neighbourhood is not busy or crowded. Bath and toilet are good and the shower especially has a strong water pressure.
The room is extremely small; apart from the bed, there are almost no other spaces left. This can make the room less cosy if a customer expects different indoor activities or the room size. Yet for the budget travellers who only sleeps in the bed and do nothing else, this hotel can be a good choice.From€25

Breakfast was very satisfying. The specialty Shizuoka oden was varied, and there was also buta. The konjac and mugo were especially delicious. One thing I was disappointed about was that there was no fruit at all. Also, the hotel's room assignment system doesn't take requests into account at all. I requested a room with a nice view in advance, but they had already assigned me a room with a parking lot view on the second floor. They didn't assign it upon arrival; the room number was already written on the check-in form. I stopped by to store my luggage before check-in time, and it was already there. I went before the 3 o'clock check-in time, but it was useless; it was a pre-arranged plan. The female staff member was sarcastic, and her attitude was evident in her expression and tone.
She's Japanese, but she speaks Korean fluently. She didn't even realize it, and she kept speaking in Japanese. I've stayed at many hotels in Japan, but this is the first time I've experienced such service.
Wow!! Contrary to the hotel photo, there's no sauna in the women's spa! I booked because of the sauna, but I was surprised. It might be helpful to double-check our website.
This was my first time staying at the Kuretake Inn chain, but if you don't care about the staff's friendly service and detailed facility information, it's fine. I'm not sure I'll return to the Kuretake Inn chain.From€33

I booked this hotel in a rush late at night after missing my train, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The self check-in was quick and convenient, and the front desk staff were professional and polite. The room itself was clean and tidy. While it's quite compact – much like an Ibis hotel in China – the size wasn't an issue for me. It was a lifesaver in my predicament, is conveniently located near Shizuoka Station, and offers excellent value for money. Highly recommended!From€37
