Stayed in the Van der valk for two nights ,we were there for Andre Rieu concert on the Sunday 24 July ,we had waited 2 years for this ,we had booked this as a family and not through any organised ,my daughter was there with two of her children, they had a family room two double beds and two tvs ,we were next door in a double ,smashing bathroom with rain shower and bath giant tv limited channels in English. We had a buffet meal on the Saturday which was fantastic.on the Sunday we attended the concert in Masstricht, the hotel laid on shuttle buses to and from the event, I was very impressed by the organisation on the return journey, there were stewards making sure we were directed to the correct bus.we had a great time as did my granddaughter who made good use of the swimming pool . First class and very clean staff efficient and cheerful

Just completed our yearly science and technology conference and as always had a wonderful time staying at the Van der Valk hotel. The food was as always very good, but what really made this trip exceptional was the staff. To name a few Iris and Stephan, where both were impressive in taking care of our needs. With a special thank you to Stephan for his exceptional professionalism and amazing technical skills.

The hotel is very nice, very stylish and modern with beautiful decoration. It is interesting to see how the architects created a hotel in the beautiful building. The stay however was not nice. Booked a (very pricey) junior suite, especially for the second night the sleep quality was very poor. First, the room was street side, and did not have real curtains but only roller blinds that let light through on both sides. There was a street light just in front of our window so it was not dark at all. Second, there was a lot of noice both from traffic in the street as well as in the corridor, all night long. The rooms are not well insulated. Third, it was very hot in the room (contrary to the corridor) and the old airco system made a horrible lot of noise. The only answer of the reception staff was that they would write a note in the system so that I would get a more quiet room next time. As if there would be a next time after spending 1.000 EUR on such an experience! The room was nicely designed though, but was not worth the money. Breakfast was nice, served in the restaurant in the church. The choice at the buffet was okay, you can order freshly made eggs as well as some extras such as pancakes that are charged extra. However, also here not a very pleasant experience with staff being busy without doing anything and continuously moving around tables and chairs during the whole breakfast. All in all, a bad experience, not to be repeated. I can not recommend this hotel as price/quality ratio is just not right.

For a friend, Macheng is the only hotel without diamonds. It seems to be a hotel with a historical building. I like this recommendation of tone and historical sense. But the friend said that it was not as good as the crown by the river looked at the atmosphere, mainly because the room was remodeled from the interior of the building, and the room was not as good as the international hotel.

I stayed here for four days for a business trip. The front desk staff were very helpful with questions about dining, parking and other services of the hotel. There are two parking garages that the hotel uses, one that has metal doors on either side, so if you have a large vehicle, you may want to use the other entrance around the corner which had a little more space on the sides. The room rate included breakfast as well as overnight parking.. The room (#636) faces the plaza next to the entrance of the parking garage. The rooms across the hall face the river. The room has two beds with a desk that hold the TV which can swivel to either the beds or the desk area. The bathroom has a nice walk-in shower with a glass partition. The space works for one person. There was two bottles of water that were left in the room each day. The hotel is centrally located with lots of café and restaurants on the same side as well as short walk to shops/restaurants across the river. I can see why many of the people from our company stay here.

This hotel is located in an excellent location, directly on the Maas, right next to the footbridge, which connects the Wyck district with the old town and center. So you are really in the middle. The hotel sprays an acidified 80er-Jahre-Charme, everything is something old, everything is a little tired. We found check-in and check-out very difficult. When check-out, only one person was there, although you had to know that many guests would leave the hotel by 12:00. A cravater was long wrong without appreciating the very long serpent even one look. Finally, he fell down to help check out. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar, but the latter closes early, the slum drink must be removed from your leg. The minibar in our room was empty. All costs extra (parking, powerful WiFi, etc.) All in all is conditional to recommend.

I was extremely satisfied by my stay at Thermae 2000. Located on a mountain in Valkenburg, the panoramic views and the natural beauty of the surroundings give a great sense of serenity. The hotel is very comfortable. Each room, fully equipped and well maintained, has a little terrasse with a peaceful view on the forest. Built as a pyramid, it is the only hotel I know that has a little funicular instead of a lift to go from one floor to another. The staff in general, and especially in the hotel and the various restaurants, are always smiling, polite and seem to care and be happy to work in this place. They will make you feel welcome and comfortable, and attend to your every request with a smile. The spa facilities are very extensive, super clean and well maintained, and you can choose from a variety of options to suit your mood and needs. There are pools inside and outside and a very large choice of saunas, steam baths and water treatments as well as lots of space outside to relax and cool down. Throughout the day, free group activities are proposed. The spa treatments are very professional and enjoyable. The therapists are skilled and pleasant. All the rooms are clean, well maintained and provide the perfect atmosphere to relax and feel pampered. I tried the gastronomic restaurant for dinner (« Pure”) and it was perfect. The Indian lady Executive Chef has a very inventive, superbly presented, sophisticated and tasty cuisine. It is a bit expensive but worth every penny. The dishes are creative, fresh and flavourful, and the service is impeccable and reasonably quick – although the restaurant was full on that night. (It is advisable to book in advance) Overall experience: Perfect for a special occasion. I believe, it is one of the best spa resorts in the Netherlands and among the best in Europe. I personally truly unwinded and enjoyed every minute of my stay.

After years of visiting this wellness, I made a booking for the hotel for Jan 1st to 2nd to start the year in full relax mode. It was a disappoin**ent at best. First impressions are everlasting impressions in any business. Especially in the hospitality business. When anyone walks through the doors of a hotel, those first 2 minutes determines the entire perspective on their stay. My initial experience walking into this place unfortunately set a nasty outlook. We showed up an hour earlier then our booking foreseed, and thus, basically got told to ”take a hike”. Allow me to elaborate… During the booking, I was asked to put an “estimated time of arrival”, however, as an internationally travelling guest, it is obviously impossible to input an exact time of arrival. Little did we know that this was going to be such an issue. We got told that, because I had input 12:00 in the system as my ESTIMATED arrival time, we were not allowed to check in or access the spa. We were even told that the wellness spa was closed, and would only open at 12:00 since it was Jan 1st (Regardless if we paid 2 full days of access). I couldn't help but wonder, if this is the case, why even offer 2 days of access for those specific days? It’s basically selling something that will never be delivered… in my business that’s called theft. Now, when I asked what could be done to accommodate us, they told us basically to take a hike.... Yep, ”Ga wandelen” is what she said, to be exact. As pissed off as I was, I couldn't help but notice loads of people inside, some getting stuff out of rooms, going to drop stuff in their cars, and going to the wellness.... yet, for us, nothing could be done to accommodate us! Nothing at all..... so, 340 € for a one-night stay just can't seem to offer any flexibility in this hotel. Not even access to sit at a restaurant, nothing, nada, ziltch! So we went for amazing jetlagged hike across the village and came back an hour later! By the time we returned, there was a huge line up at the check-in desk. We waited in line. The gentleman at the check-in apologized and offered us a complimentary bottle of wine in remediation for the inconveniences caused earlier. He also told us that we could enter the first room that had been cleaned, which was immediately available. He escorted us to our room and offered some information about the hotel facilities. I got the impression that this young staff member understood what happened, and really wanted to make our stay enjoyable - (our complimentary to him, good hospitality!!) The hotel was modern and well kept, some renovations and upgrades had been made. Our room was clean and accommodating, good size and well furnished. Coffee in the room was great! The bathroom had a full-size bath and was very functional. However, very little soap was available. Thankfully, previous experiences dictate me to bring my own. We started our experience at the wellness spa – I will review the spa separately.

The place is amazing, very well maintained and decorated with class and elegance. Honestly what made the stay wonderful, is the professionality, style, exceptional kindness and education of the staff. I travel often for work but rarely I have found such competent personnel. My compliments to them absolutely well deserved. I will surely come back for other stays.

It was an amazing weekend! We celebrated our anniversary with my husband and had very romantic time in this hotel. Service was excellent, we received congratulations and upgraded room. We spent time in the spa and enjoyed the dinner in the restaurant. The breakfast was outstanding!

Nice looking and clean hotel on a perfect location close to the station and city center. Because it's unstaffed, check-in and check-out are very efficient. There are some nice touches to the hotel and room style, which I liked a lot because I'm from the eighties. Also the fact that you don't pay extra for coffee, minibar or wifi are a relief for once. Furthermore, the rooms are clean and the beds are good, although I would prefer to take my own pillow next time.

Conveniently located close to the station (and 1 minute walk to nice lunch spots), this hotel makes you smile throughout your stay. The staff is helpfull and funny texts are everywhere (loved the doorhangers!). The room was rather 'no frills' than luxurious or comfy, but nevertheless value for money. Great place to stay and would definitely recommend it.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful location. The rooms are slightly outdated but in order and equipped with all necessary comforts. Personally, I'm not a fan of the tapestry, but okay. Bathroom has a separate bath and shower. The doors close automatically with a very loud bang - noisy. As others have already written, very friendly staff in the catering area, but the ladies at the reception lack any kind of cordiality. We stayed at the hotel with a group of friends. A couple refuses a room because it had clearly been smoked in the room and there was an unpleasant smell. After some insistence they got another room, but this ”stink room” was then casually given to another couple, without solving the problem.... !!? It is best to skip the restaurant, price / quality is out of proportion. The cook lacks any form of inspiration to complete a dish, with a game dish, for example, we only got Brussels sprouts and no other vegetables. It also makes it quite easy to use frozen products. For example, we got soup with clearly factory-cut vegetables, personally I think that the soup was even completely a factory product. With the main course again clearly factory-cut vegetables that you normally find in the freezer compar**ent, together with a fried potato dish that has been baked too long. And for dessert a stale cookie that was already wak. To end on a positive note, the breakfast is fairly simple, but good and the service by Patrick very good.
