The location of the hotel is very convenient, it's located beside SM City Cebu, just a few minutes walking distance only. Hotel facilities are good and room is clean & tidy, hotel staffs are friendly too. Buffet breakfast & dinner have variety of choices, can't even decide what to eat first😆😆😆
The check-in process was terrible. Although I already checked in online, I still had to wait more than 30 minutes in line to be entertained at the reception. To be fair, extending my stay and the check-out process were a breeze. So perhaps my check-in was just peak check-in time. I availed of the discounted dinner buffet, it was not worth the cost (i have had better food quality and selection elsewhere). The pool was closed, but they gave a heads up. The room was excellent and full service. They provide water refills and ice. They replenish toiletries daily (except for slippers?). The staff were all friendly and helpful.
First time staying at this hotel. The staff were very helpful in resolving any issues we had. The hotel has a swimming pool, gym, and spa. Overall, the facilities are excellent. There are many options for breakfast, so you can choose freely. I highly recommend it to everyone.
You need to go through a security check before entering the hotel, which makes you feel very safe. The front desk staff were especially friendly and helpful, and any questions or issues were handled quickly.
The room was clean and well-maintained. Both the sofa and the bed were very comfortable. There was also a JBL speaker in the living room, which was a really nice touch. I was especially happy to receive a complimentary room upgrade, and the room had a great view.
One thing to note is that there seems to be a voltage issue with the hair dryer, so it couldn’t be used in the bathroom.
The hand cream also smelled amazing and worked really well. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.
Service: The service was really good, very enthusiastic. They even helped me bring my takeout upstairs.
Facilities: The overall feel is quite new and decent.
Hygiene: This is the cleanest hotel I've stayed at in the Philippines. Before this, I was diving, and the accommodations were terrible. So, staying here was quite comfortable.
Environment: It's pretty good.
Please note, the hotel doesn't respond to emails or booking services. A request to cancel one of the three nights was simply ignored. The receptionist told me to call someone and deal with it personally, but she had no intention of doing anything.
The location is an acquired taste: Cebu is at least 50 minutes away by public transportation, the grab bar doesn't work, and the hotel's Wi-Fi is poor. There are no cafes or shops nearby.
The grounds are pleasant and well-maintained. The beach is small and shared with locals, but dirty and crowded.
Breakfast is included, but the portion is small and unappetizing. The meat is like cat food, while the juice is delicious. There were a lot of children at the hotel, which is a plus for families with small children, but a significant minus for couples without children (like us). Everyone was screaming, there was screaming outside the windows, and there was crying at night—in short, it was terrifying.
As for the cleanliness of the room, there was no hot water, the pressure was a trickle, but there was a bucket and ladle, which saved the day. We didn't even stay three days; we left early.
I won't give the hotel a bad rating or lower its rating. Perhaps this is a one-off, and the hotel management will listen and investigate. I've only described my experience here, which, unfortunately, was negative. Yours may be different.

The Hotel and staff did really well during the Sinulog festival! They organised workshop and provided gifts and souvenirs. It is also very close to one of the main festival areas. The only disappointment was the kaldereta we ordered from the kitchen which was ridiculously small amount (1 piece of meat). However there are many restaurants nearby. Hairdryer needs extra payment of 100 peso per night.
The accommodation is good for budget-friendly travelers that are with their family. The room we booked was good for 4 people and we were able to sleep comfortably.
First the cons ,
their in room dining and housekeeping delivery is very very slow. .For getting a bottle of water l had to wait for more than 30 mins and 5 calls . it might be cuz it was a Friday night . l didn't like their straightup bar , ambience was good but the cocktails weren't good .infact one of the cocktails l told them to change as they completely missed my instructions .
Now the Pros
The Hotel sits just beside the IT park and it connects directly to the Ayala mall . the room we were in Studio room with kitchenette had all the things necessary for a corporate long stay , refer the pictures. It has a proper functional working table for remote workers . This location l found better than the SM city side . Room was clean , comfortable beds . lot of space in the cupboard .didn't get a chance to use their swimming pool . Very modern rooms probably newly renovated or built .
Great Stay with Excellent Breakfast
I had a great experience staying at Bayfront Hotel Capitol Cebu. The room was comfortable and I really appreciated that they had a Netflix subscription available in the room, which was a great bonus and made the stay even more relaxing.
I wasn't able to use the swimming pool during my stay, so I can't comment much on that. I also wasn't able to ask for the Wi-Fi password, so I wasn't able to use the Wi-Fi during my stay.
One of the highlights for me was the breakfast buffet. It had a pretty decent selection of food, and I really enjoyed having breakfast there.
There were some ongoing repairs during our visit, which was a minor inconvenience, but it didn't significantly affect our overall experience.
Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable stay. I would definitely consider staying here again.
My overall experience at Holiday Inn Cebu was quite disappointing, especially for a Holiday Inn brand. It fell far short of my expectations.
1. There was a feedback form in the room, but no pen. Does the hotel assume every guest carries their own writing tools? I couldn't even fill out the feedback form.
2. The policy of collecting a 1,500 PHP daily deposit is very unreasonable. Most hotels nowadays have abolished the deposit system, both out of trust in their guests and to enhance the check-in experience. I've stayed at many excellent hotels in Cebu, and this is the first time I've encountered a daily deposit. It inevitably makes one feel that the hotel lacks trust in its guests.
3. The room size and amenities are only comparable to budget hotels like Home Inn in China, which doesn't match Holiday Inn's brand positioning.
4. Breakfast service was chaotic. There was no staff to guide guests to tables. Many tables were empty, but there was no cutlery on them, making it difficult to find a place to eat.
5. When I went to the restaurant for breakfast, I proactively showed my room number to the front desk staff, and they confirmed it. However, during my meal, the front desk staff came over again to ask for my room number. Such basic service oversights seriously detract from the guest experience.
6. I went for breakfast at 9:30 AM, and the fruit section was almost empty. No staff refilled the fruit until I finished my meal and left.
