⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic Stay at Cho Hotel 3! Cho Hotel 3 exceeded our expectations! The location in Ximending is perfect—super convenient for shopping and food, yet peaceful at night. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful, and the entire hotel is spotlessly clean and comfortable. Our favorite perk was definitely the 24/7 unlimited snacks and drinks—such a great and generous touch after a day of exploring. Highly recommended, and we would definitely stay here again!

The location is excellent. Given the nature of the region in Taiwan, it is difficult to find affordable accommodation, so I am satisfied in that regard. Honestly, if you are very particular about cleanliness, you should go for a 5-star or higher luxury hotel; however, if you don't mind that much, I recommend it! You can think of it as staying in an officetel (apartment) for a few days, and the noise level is comparable to that of a standard apartment or studio. Also, since I checked in late, I found it helpful to take the key box with me. However, please note that towels and similar items are not provided in large quantities.

Excellent location, spacious room. It even comes with an induction cooker and kitchen utensils, which was super convenient for bringing back late-night snacks. The water pressure was great, making showers very comfortable. We had six people shower consecutively and there was still plenty of hot water, which was a huge plus!

The location is in an old building with outdated facilities, and the room looks quite different from the photos, so don't have too high expectations. It's okay if you just need a place to sleep for one night; at least the shower water is hot enough, the air conditioning is cool, and disposable towels are provided, which is nice. The biggest advantage is that it's very close to Ximen Underground Mall and Ximen Station.

The room is just perfect for 3 adult people and the amenities were perfect for a seve-day stay: shampoo, shower gel, hand soap, tissue, towels. There were hangers and 3pais of slippers. The aircon is very good as well as the water, super strong pressure. There is also a ashower heater which was pre-set to a moderate hot temperature.. There is a refrigerator, hair blower, TV which we didn’t use because the wifi has strong connectiviy. The security is excellent. There was only one problem though: the late check in which was at 4pm Al though EE were allowed to enter the room at 2pm. Our arrival at the AirPort  was at 3am so we were problematic on where to spend the remaining hours before we could check in. Other than that, we were fine, Thank you, Stag Haven. Till our next Taipei visit.

The location is convenient, but the nightclub downstairs raises some safety concerns when coming and going. The room had a bit of a musty smell, which needs improvement. The washer and dryer were very convenient. The space was a bit small, especially since we had a triple room, making it hard to fully open our suitcases. Even though it's self check-in, the staff responded very quickly and politely on Line. Overall, it's pretty good value for money.

Love the place, it’s only 5 mins walk from Shulin MRT Station. Best location and very affordable price. They have really nice charging tables on the side of the bed. Water dispenser right outside of the room.Huge TV screen, can connect Netflix and Spotify.

Overall, this self-catering guesthouse is pretty good. The transportation is very convenient, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. It's a great value-for-money option. I'll definitely consider it for my next trip to Taipei.

We recently stayed at the Dinosaur Kingdom Family Room and transferred to a Premier Twin Room the following day. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The staff were consistently kind, helpful, and accommodating, which we truly appreciated. We especially enjoyed the family room—it was thoughtfully designed and perfect for traveling with a young child. I had initially planned for a two-night stay in this room, but unfortunately, renovations were scheduled to begin the following day. This was a bit disappointing, as it made our time there feel quite short, especially with other activities already planned during our trip. In comparison to other five-star hotels we’ve stayed in, I did find the lack of flexibility with early check-in a bit surprising, particularly for the themed room. We had hoped to settle in earlier, and similarly, the following day’s transfer to the Premier room was not available early as it was fully booked. While this was different from what I’m used to, I do understand that this may be part of their standard protocol. On a positive note, we loved the buffet, and the rooms were very comfortable. The complimentary drinks were a nice touch, and the playroom area was excellent—clearly designed with families in mind. It was also lovely to see the hotel organizing activities for children. During our stay, there was a special event (like a children’s appreciation day?), where me and my baby were able to participate in arts and crafts and even received small prizes, which made the experience extra memorable. The swimming pool was decent, though not very large, and the water was quite cold, so we ended up enjoying the bathtub instead. One area for improvement would be cleanliness. We noticed visible dust in the room, which was concerning—especially since the room is designed for small children, and for someone like me who is diagnosed with allergies to multiple types of dust mites. I did raise this with Lara at the lobby, who kindly apologized and mentioned she would inform housekeeping. However, upon transferring rooms the next day, I still noticed dust in certain areas, which made me question the thoroughness of the cleaning. Separately, I also observed that some toiletries (such as conditioner and lotion) were nearly empty upon arrival, suggesting they may not have been checked or replenished prior to our stay. Despite these points, we genuinely had a pleasant experience overall and would consider returning. I’m also excited and curious to see what the next theme for the family rooms will be after the renovations.

The room was very clean, and the front desk service was excellent! They gave us very detailed travel advice. It's also in a very convenient location for sightseeing, with Longshan Temple and Mengjia Night Market nearby. There are some affordable local eateries right next to the hotel, and getting to Ximending and other attractions is super easy. The only downside is that the room layout is a bit awkward, as the bed faces the main entrance directly. A floor-to-ceiling window design would make the room much more comfortable.

Some hotels give you a room. Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei gave us a base for a trip we'll talk about for years. From the moment we walked in, the place felt considered, elegant without being cold, warm without losing its polish. That balance is rare, and it set the tone for everything that followed. Every outing started and ended easily, which meant more time enjoying Taipei and less time managing logistics. Back at the hotel each evening, the rooms were spacious, immaculate, and quietly luxurious, the kind of space that makes you want to slow down. Staff treated our kids with the same warmth and respect they showed us, which matters more than most hotels realize. This wasn't just a comfortable stay. It was a beautiful one, the kind that makes you rethink what a family trip can feel like when everything, safety, comfort, location, care, comes together the way it should. We left grateful, and we'll be back.

Hotel Papa Whale in Ximending is a good, quiet, original hotel for short stays, a 7 minute walk from the busy streets and ”The Red House”. I got this room for 1.125 NTD a night. But make sure you ask for a ”Double Elegant Room” on the third floor. The room I was first given on second floor smelled damp. I did not try the hotel dining or breakfast but you can walk from inside the hotel straight into a Starbucks for breakfast. The rooms have a unique, rough but elegant vintage industrial look with good size wall mounted TV, comfortable beds and nice three piece bathrooms with good water pressure. The rooms are clean but have vintage wear with many original details. I would stay again.

There are many good food options within walking distance, including local ********* restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and night market snacks. Taipei Arena and nearby shopping areas are also worth visiting, especially in the evening. One issue I noticed was that the bathroom or toilet had a slight unpleasant smell at times. It would be great if the hotel could improve ventilation or perform more frequent maintenance to eliminate the odor. Everything else in the room was satisfactory. For Trip.Best, I think hotel rankings would be even more helpful if they included verified guest comments about cleanliness, noise level, bathroom condition, nearby transportation, and whether disposable amenities are provided. More accurate information about hotel promotions, nearby attractions, and special packages would also improve the booking experience. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at ILLUME TAIPEI and would consider staying here again because of its excellent location, comfortable rooms, and friendly service.

This is probably the most cost-effective hotel in Taipei. The room size is decent, but it's definitely showing its age. There was a stale, sweaty smell in both the room and the hallway. The executive lounge service was excellent, no complaints there. However, the front desk service on the first floor was absolutely terrible. An elderly lady couldn't hear what the staff member was saying, and the short-haired staff member repeated herself several times with extreme impatience, then threw things and rolled her eyes, which was quite disgusting. There were a lot of Japanese guests, and it was very noisy at night. The low service score is due to the front desk; the F&B and the executive lounge staff were all very professional.

Front office colleague - Peiyu is the star. She checked in for us with welcome back note. She arranged rooms for us accommodating our request. Naturally, I would have preferred more modern facilities; however, the excellent service, convenient location, and outstanding breakfast buffet more than made up for it. The breakfast offered a great variety of hot dishes, fruits, and beverages, and the hotel is just a five-minute walk from the nearest metro station, making it very easy to get around the city. I've never encountered such a poorly managed 5-star hotel; it's truly unacceptable!

Hygiene: There's a magnetic sticker on the door, so you can request daily cleaning. The housekeeping staff are incredibly efficient; the room was sparkling clean by the time I finished breakfast. Facilities: The room isn't small, and the window offers a view of Ximending street. It has a smart TV for screen mirroring, so you can watch Netflix and YouTube. The soundproofing is good, but the air conditioning fan is too loud, even on the lowest setting. The breakfast menu changes daily and is mostly Western. Free drinks and snacks are available from afternoon to evening. Environment: It's right next to Ximen MRT Station, and there's a bus stop nearby that goes to almost all city attractions. Ximending is just around the corner, very lively at night with lots of food options. Downstairs, there's a Hello Kitty themed 7-Eleven, an Animate manga store, and a Family Mart. Service: The front desk staff are all very patient and enthusiastic, with excellent service attitudes. Free luggage storage is available. Overall, it's a great hotel. No weaknesses.
