The navigation is difficult to find and the location is remote. It is easy to find the way if you check in too late. The space is large and suitable for families. It is a bit dusty. If you mind, please consider it. There is a supermarket next to it which is very convenient.

After reading other reviews, they were all overwhelmingly positive.
Having stayed in numerous hotels, the ANA InterContinental Beppu definitely ranks in my top three.
First, let's talk about transportation:
Beppu Station is quite small. Remember to exit from the West Exit (this was told to us by the hotel shuttle driver; apparently, many international guests wait for a long time at the East Exit only to find out it's the West Exit). The hotel is about a twenty-minute drive away.
Next, the service:
What was really surprising is that more than half of the hotel staff are non-Japanese. Every single foreign staff member spoke excellent Japanese, with perfect mastery of honorifics.
Finally, the room facilities:
The onsen (hot spring bath) is small but beautiful. The infinity pool isn't very deep, making it suitable for children. It was still a bit chilly in March, but luckily, there's a warm pool nearby where you can soak for a while.
The restaurant offers great value for money. Children aged 6-12 get half price, which is around 2,700 yen. In the evening, there's an all-you-can-drink option for adults at 5,000 yen, including sparkling wine, house wine, shochu, and beer.FromMYR 1,371

This trip exceeded my expectations and was very satisfying. The room was incredibly spacious and clean, with large floor-to-ceiling windows offering beautiful natural views. The private hot spring in the room was also a major highlight. Even though it was pouring rain, the staff were all incredibly polite and welcoming. Dinner was abundant and delicious. For breakfast, you have to go to a sister hotel in the same group next door, but the selection was excellent. The only thing to note is that it might be a bit inconvenient if you don't have a car, but you can take bus route 50 directly from Beppu Station.FromMYR 1,090

Celebrated 520 (May 20th) by booking a more upscale meal that day, and the experience was great ❤️. The location is fantastic! It's a 5-minute walk to Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell), so we went straight there after breakfast when it was less crowded. Regarding service, I have to say: it was the rainy season, and there were many staff members standing at the entrance, but they only bowed. Booked a sea-view room with half board, and it was a great experience. It's a few hundred meters from the train station, and it's quiet despite being set back from the main road.
**Environment:** It's a traditional Japanese hotel with an elevator up to the seventh floor. Being right by the sea is very convenient. I haven't slept on a futon in a long time and was worried I wouldn't get used to it, but it was actually quite comfortable. The mattress was thick and not cold. There was a faint tatami mat smell, which I personally found acceptable. I was assigned a corner room, so I could also see the sea from another wall, which was lovely.
**Service:** The service was decent. The restaurant staff were particularly warm and welcoming. Just a heads-up, check-in is from 3-6 PM, and the latest entry for dinner is 7 PM, so plan accordingly.
**Facilities:** The outdoor onsen on the top floor offers beautiful sea views. The indoor onsen on the third floor is quite spacious and wasn't crowded at all.
**Food:** Dinner was excellent, with a good variety including sashimi, wagyu beef, and tempura. Breakfast leaned a bit more vegetarian but was also very tasty.FromMYR 320

The location is perfect,just a short walk from Subway station.
The room was spotless clean ,very spacious.
The staff were so welcoming and always ready to help.
Check in and check out were fast.

Good but a bit ******. I have Japanese citizenship despite being of Caucasian ethnicity. The front desk employee asked me to submit a foreign resident ID without even confirming my nationality. Furthermore, Japanese citizens are not required to submit any ID. It was rude and concerning, as there are many non ethnically Japanese citizens in Japan.

Very pleased with our one night stay at Beppu Daiiti Hotel. It was a short 5-minute walk to the Beppu Station. So convenient. Room was very clean and tidy and of a decent size. The staff at the counter were all so courteous and very helpful. Asked them about a private onsen where we could go and they recommended one and phoned to help us make reservations. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Beppu Station. It was raining on the day we arrived, so we took a taxi which cost around 50 HKD. We had a fantastic sea-view room. Initially, I was torn between choosing between Kai Beppu and Harumi, and I'm so glad I ultimately went with Harumi. From the service to the facilities, this onsen (hot spring) ranks as one of the best I've visited in Japan, alongside Izu, Arima, and Karuizawa. Enjoying a hot soak with family, then relaxing on the balcony listening to the ocean waves while sipping a drink—it was such a perfect evening. A lovely relaxing hotel right on the Beppu beach road. There was a definite air of old seaside town about the place and it was very chill - the onsen in the hotel itself was very nice and wasn't at all busy when we were there.
The breakfast however did get quite crowded with tour groups so going down later worked the best for us - if you had to go in peak time there was often a queue.
The room was compact but very comfortable and had all the things needed for a comfy stay. Staff were lovely and the japanese pj's provided we're a nice touch.
Fantastic location for traveling around beppu as well as arriving from Fukuoka and leaving to Oita airport. The hotel is right next to both bus stops.FromMYR 166

No car? No problem! Right next to Beppu Station, there's a dedicated waiting room for the hotel, so you don't have to worry about rain or snow. Plus, there's a free shuttle bus every 20 minutes.
The hotel is situated on a hill, offering expansive views from all common areas. Inside, there's a large gift shop and a game center, perfect for both adults and children. Even though my room had a mountain view, I had no regrets; seeing the misty mountains and the steam from the hot springs was very characteristic of Beppu.
Of course, the most important part is the hot springs! I'm not sure if there are private baths, but the public bathhouse was already fantastic! There are three large outdoor tiered pools, so even with a lot of people, it doesn't feel crowded or awkward. They overlook the bay, and the front-most pool even allows you to lie down – I really loved that spot. There are also several smaller single-person pools. The sauna was surprisingly in the outdoor area too; although small, it also offered sea views. And there were at least three cleaning staff constantly tidying up, keeping both the pools and floors very clean. I soaked in the hot springs three times during my one-night stay ♨️ – it was incredibly relaxing!
Dinner was a buffet with a wide variety of dishes, and you could drink as much beer, red wine, white wine, and sake as you wanted! All the desserts were delicious.
One more thing: even though I didn't take photos, I noticed many child-friendly details, such as a kids' food corner and utensils at the buffet, and changing tables in the hot spring changing rooms. It was my first time seeing this at a hot spring hotel, which is quite rare.
I took the wrong train when I arrived, delaying my plans for an entire day. Combined with the rain, traveling solo, without a car, and not wanting to walk around in the wet, I only did one thing in Beppu: I just enjoyed the hotel 😹. Booking a good hotel is really important; my mood completely improved once I got here 🫶🏻FromMYR 740

While the general experience was okay, the room cleanliness wasn't up to par—specifically, there was an unpleasant odor coming from the cups and the bathroom. Additionally, the door leading from the balcony to the hot spring room couldn't be securely locked, which was a bit concerning.
