Rose Tree Cottage is a quaint Grade 11 Listed detached period stone cottage nestling in the heart of Lower Slaughter with a large garage, a short walk away, in the village square behind the cottage for off road parking.

Rose Tree Cottage overlooks the Old Mill and is only 50 yards from the River Eye making it an idyllic Cotswold location. It has a huge inglenook fireplace, stone mullions, Cotswold stone floors on the ground floor and central heating. Having been recently refurbished there is a new kitchen, bathroom and en-suite shower room. The front garden is enclosed by dry stone walls and hedges.

The lounge/dining room has an inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove, a large sofa and Laura Ashley chairs, oak furniture and a contemporary dining table which seats 6. There is a flat screen TV, DVD and music system.

The Kitchen has wooden work tops, glass cabinets and butlers sink with an extensive range of appliances.

The bathroom is downstairs by the lobby, with a full-size bath, high level toilet and basin with a shower over the bath.

There is a ground floor, twin bedded room, one step up from the lounge/dining area with a small Gothic wardrobe and separate cupboard.

Upstairs, there is a comfortable Queen size bedroom( in UK it's called King size!) with oak furniture and an en-suite with a large shower tiled with Cotswold stone mosaic tiles, basin and toilet. On the other side of the landing is the second twin bedded room with oak furniture.

The decoration throughout is modern in style but the furniture itself is period design to give the cottage that authentic feel.

Whilst we accept well behaved dogs for an additional cost of £50 per stay, please contact us to check if you wish to take more than one dog.

Short breaks of 2, 3 or 4 nights are calculated on a percentage basis (not a nightly rate) and are not normally accepted during school holidays.

Lower Slaughter is a "quintessential Cotswold Village" lying right in the heart of the Cotswolds. The River Eye runs right through the village with small stone bridges acting as crossing points. The mill has a gift shop and museum, riverside tea rooms and a working water wheel.

Lower Slaughter Manor is a grand country house hotel in the heart of the village and Washbourne Court is likewise a charming riverside hotel offering a restaurant, bar menu and in the summer, drinks or tea at the Riverside Terrace.

For shopping, Bourton-on-the-Water is a five-minute drive with the local supermarket situated en route. There is plenty to see in Bourton-on-the-Water e.g. Birdland Park and Gardens, The Model Village, Cotswold Motoring Museum and Toy Collection, Cotswold Perfumery, The Dragonfly Maze, Fundays Play Barn, Bourton Model Railway, Cotswold Pottery and Cotswold Farm Park. Also, in the locality are the villages of Broadway, Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden, The Slaughters, Stratford-upon-Avon and Burford. Riverside is an idyllic detached period stone property situated on the banks of the River Windrush right in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water with house and garden overlooking the river and parking for two cars. There is a separate private courtyard garden for alfresco dining. On the ground floor both the Lounge and the Dining Room overlook the river. Bourton-on-the-Water is known as 'Venice of the Cotswolds' and Cloisters cottage is located in the heart of the village, only 100 yards from the main street and the River Windrush.

Beautifully furnished, with period features including a wealth of beams, stone mullion leaded windows and exposed stone and timbers.

This beautiful cottage boasts a wealth of character and benefits from generously proportioned rooms. The large kitchen / breakfast room has a range of oak fitted units and an extensive range of appliances - including washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, oven and hob. There is also an oak table with seating for four.

The conservatory features a large oak refectory dining table with seating for six and is surrounded by exposed stone and timber and overlooks the garden. There is also a cloakroom On the ground floor with w.c. and wash hand basin.

The lounge has a delightful stone fireplace with timber lintel, a Cotswold stone canopy and leather sofas surrounded by oak furniture. There is also a TV and DVD, along with a music system.

The first floor consists of one double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both with en-suite shower rooms which have a w.c. and wash hand basin. The double bedroom has a dual aspect and contains a range of traditional oak furniture. The twin bedroom has a fitted wardrobe.

The second floor contains another twin bedroom, which features a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and stone mullion windows. There is also a family bathroom opposite which compromises modern sanitary ware set around beams and stone.

Outside there is a small South facing garden which contains Cotswold stone walls and mature flower beds. There is also a detached garage, and off-street parking for another car.

With the M4, M5 and M40 in close proximity, it is easily accessible from all parts of the country. The village was recently voted one of the prettiest in England on the strength of the beautiful old-world Cotswold houses and the village green, traversed by six picturesque bridges spanning the River Windrush.

The architecture in Bourton-on-the-Water is unique to the area, and one can see an abundance of stone mullion windows, stone tiled roofs, gables and honey coloured limestone walls. The village itself is steeped in history with its origins traced back to pre-Roman times.

Across the lane from the cottage is the children's play area with zip wire and tennis courts. Also perfect for walking and hiking. There is a bar at the end of the field run by volunteers with tables out side with Sky sports TV open at weekends.
Excellent location for exploring the Area. Village bus goes to Cheltenham, Burford, Bourton on the Water etc. Many pretty villages within easy reach.
Cottage has central heating and an open fire, logs available locally.
The Cotswolds Wildlife Park is about 20 minutes by car, a great day out for adults and children. Boating available on the Thames at Lechlade approx 25 minutes drive. The city of Bath is about 90 minutes drive away. Stratford on Avon approx, 1 hour. Oxford with park and ride bus 55 minutes away.
There are many guide book and leaflets on places of interest to visit at the cottage.
