This is the most satisfying hotel in this trip. I hope I can stay a few more days next time. The hotel has a beautiful appearance and the rooms are large and Scottish-style. Compare the prices of five-star hotels in London that cost only one, two, and one night The Balmoral 5k per night is well worth it! It's also very close to Waverley Bridge, just on Princes Street. Nothing to say about the location

The location is very good. It's just outside the train station. The room is also good. The breakfast is also delicious. The service is very good and very welcoming. It's very close to the attractions and can be reached on foot. I will choose this place again next time I come to Edinburgh.

First time in Edinburgh. What a delight to stay here. Staff welcoming and friendly. When we arrived in our room we could not work the light switches. Mary hopped right up and helped us. The room was incredible! Neat, clean, spacious. No view but we didn’t care. Can’t see and explore Edinburgh from staying in the room anyway. Food was great! Most memorable experience…. The Amaretto and lime after dinner drink the bartender Sven made for me. Heaven!

Because of Corona, our booking was transferred twice. Finally we asked for another night (Saturday to Sunday). Not that easy in a fully booked hotel. Thanks to the great reception team (Jodi, Tasha and others), we stayed at the Georgian rooms, huge, just great. Please remember, Tigerlily is a party place, parties may get sometimes noisy. We have been here twice and we would come again.

The good: -Great location -Suite I stayed in was large, clean & quiet -Comfortable bed/bedding The less good: -The lobby staff are a mixture of friendly/standoff-ish; they lack the polish of an “actual” 5-star hotel -Rooms at this price point need proper minibars/snacks –full stop -While the hotel was renovated several years back, my suite needed some maintenance TLC Travelers coming here expecting a 5-star hotel (as marketed) are going to be disappointed. That is, this isn’t remotely a 5-star hotel. No one in their right mind would put this in the same class as a Mandarin, Aman, etc. But, it’s a very solid 4-star property with a lot going for it. So, Bonvoy, why not just advertise it accurately for what it is?
- Guest User
Pros: The location of the hotel is good. This is a big hotel with many rooms. The terrace is super nice. shortcoming: 1- But my room is separated from the noise of huge equipment, I don't know what it is, it is much more noisy than the refrigerator. 2- The corridors and restaurants don't turn on the heating very much, it's very cold. 3- The bed is relatively soft 4- But there is no parking space for taxis in front Overall: 4 points The price-performance ratio of more than 2,000 is not very high, but the level of the entire British hotel is incomparable with that of Asia, and this hotel cannot be blamed.

The check-in was very comfortable and the service was very good. The suitcase code of the day was forgotten. The younger brother at the front desk patiently ran two times and tried to help us open! The hotel is very beautiful and has an English manor! But to get used to the inconvenience caused by old-fashioned objects, the faucet of the washstand is separated from cold water and hot water, which is a little inconvenient. Free bed for us, breakfast is more traditional English, but very nutritious! Afternoon tea can also be experienced!
- Guest User
The hotel was converted from a private villa of the old duke hundreds of years ago. The room is small, there is no way to an extra bed, but the environment is very good. The large lawn at the entrance of the hotel is a golf course. The hotel also has a lot of peacocks flying around, and there is a yellow, black and two cows in the cattle farm. Children are more happy to play inside. A lot of people also came to have afternoon tea, and I also booked a private room where the Queen was said to have had afternoon tea. In short, staying here is quite leisurely, and taxis to Edinburgh city centre are less than 10 minutes away.

The location is close to the train station, so it's very good that you don't have to carry your suitcases uphill! You can easily walk to various attractions in Edinburgh, and there are many restaurants around you to eat and drink. Book a foreign hotel on Ctrip, check in/out is barrier-free, but the location of the room is not ideal, the price is not low, the window of the room is actually in a dead corner, you can't see the sky!
- Anonymous User
The room is clean and the main location is very convenient. You can drink whatever you want in the hotel mini bar. The service of the lady at the front desk is very good. For the first time, we arranged a downstairs room for us. After asking for a change, we were immediately changed to another room

It’s a nice place. Upon our arrival, we were suitably greeted. Given basic info regarding breakfast times etc (8-11:30 i believe), and given our room key. We were allocated room 4. Up the first set of stairs (30 ish steps for reference-no lift in the hotel), is where rooms 1-3 are located. Another set of steps (50+ total) for rooms 4-6 the another set to the top of rooms 5-9. Worth noting here, we’d paid for what we believed was the best room (I’m unsure as to how many of each rooms per category they have). It was my husbands birthday and also our anniversary. So the royal mile room, that came with its beautiful linens, roll top/free standing bath etc (as per its online description). Only. It didn’t. Well not in my room anyway!? Both other rooms on our level (5/6) had their door open at one point whilst being cleaned-both were quite a bit bigger than mine. Laid out nicer. And seemed a much better standard than mine. Hmm. So was I even given the more expensive room that I paid a premium for? Maybe I’ll never know. It did state on their website that we’d receive a mini bar as part of our RM room-but that was literally some drinks that required paying for, that could literally be moved very easily between rooms. The fire escape plan on the door seems to suggest our room is the smallest on our floor too. Very suspicious in my opinion. But how would I ever know….? Something to think about. The blatant *********ing outside our window was also really off putting. Not really what you want to see on a romantic trip away. A homeless person kicking what appeared to be a very pregnant dog, then partaking in multiple *********s. Not nice. I know it’s not the fault of the hotels but I’m not sure I’m the first to witness it either. Now I’ve mentioned it-maybe someone can moniter it? The homeless owning dogs is rife and is really unsettling. Never any water etc. Horrible. Anyway. Back to our room. We had breakfast included in our stay. First morning we ordered. Received. Ate. Then offered our room number. No one said anything. No one confirmed we were good to go. Just left to assume all was ok-and left. The next day, the guy did ask our room number, but again, no real care no real attention no rapport. Didn’t recognise us. Ask us any questions. All very basic interaction. Not special. Definitely wouldn’t have come back the second morning had we not had it included in our stay. Completely underwhelming. We had drinks in the hotel each night. I opted once for a cocktail. Called ‘treacle’. It was £10.50 + the piss take 20% on top of EVERY. SINGLE. DRINK. YOU. GO. TO. THE. BAR. TO. PURCHASE!!?? Yep. Automatically added. So almost £13 for what was literally a whisky with what i believe to be a splash of apple juice?!? It was horrible. If I had a lighter on me and lit it, the bar would’ve gone up. It was awful. I had a sip and left it. Did anyone care? Ask why it’d not been touched? Nope. No one really cares about anything it seems. The

This was the first place we visited for a drink when we arrived in Edinburgh! We had our family dog with us and it was great to know that they were dog friendly! At first we sat outside at the front of the bar which looks over the Royal Mile but it started to get cold so we moved inside where it was warm and comfortable! The bar is decorated lovely and the drinks tasted great! The staff were also very friendly! Thank you and we hope to visit again soon!

I can not express how disappointed I was with this hotel. I did extensive research as I wanted somewhere nice for my birthday and picked this hotel as it had great reviews and being just under £370 per night for a Delux room with city views my expectations were high. Well what a shock I got. The Bedroom was average at best and certain not deluxe. The beds were appalling, we did not manage to get sleep as the beds were made from hardwood and screwed together. I have attached pictures of the beds.... worst I have every stayed in. I felt like I was in a hostel. I felt like I was sleeping on planks. The city views was a joke as all I had was the railway station and rubbish. The room was very noisy. The TV was so slow it was quicker to watch TV on my mobile. I paid for breakfast and they said I had not had that included in the room rate of £370 per night. Also it stated complementary whisky as part of their “in room features” which was false advertising as they only provided it on day one despite it not stating that. I did question if they were going to take the other in room items out of the room ie TV, HairDryer, etc. There were stains on the chairs and carpets. The cleaning of the room was average at best. There was mould in the bathroom. They did not provide clean glasses and we had to clean them and we had to ask for Tea Bags and milk every day. The service at breakfast was awful as it depended who you were. We asked why some people were service tea/ coffee and others had to get our own. Breakfast was not fantastic. The staff were not that friendly or helpful. Was I wrong to expect a good standard of hotel / room in Edinburgh for £370.00 a night? I have stayed all of the world and never experience just a poor service / standard. Not the birthday experience I had expected. The only thing good about this place was it was central so location was good.

We stayed here three nights in August and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The family room was beautiful. It slept four comfortably and has one and a half bathrooms. It was very quiet. It was not inexpensive, but reasonable based on the prices of other hotels in Edinburgh in August. It is close to the train station, many restaurants and many of the the sights of the city. The hotel is an odd layout, but we loved that. (I wish we had the time to see a movie in the fancy theatre!) The construction around the hotel is not the hotel’s fault. Our email explained where the alternative entrance was so we knew where to have our cab drop us off. We found the staff helpful and professional. We arrived in the morning after a flight. They kept our bags for us and called us when the room was ready.

The overall evaluation is ok, just a few details, 1. The refrigerator in the room is not cooling, or the cooling effect is not good. 2. Toiletries lack a comb, and the slippers either lack disposable slippers or sandals 3. The hotel parking lot is not perfect, and parking is inconvenient 4. The water temperature of the swimming pool is low, only about 24 degrees, which is cool

The service staff are kind, thoughtful and attentive. Special thanks to the concierge Xiao He. The child immediately came out to greet me when he saw the car parked at the door. My scattered luggage was properly put away, especially the bedding I brought with me. I did not put the luggage carelessly. Instead, the car was placed on a clean floor. At such a young age, it is great to pay such attention to details. Xiao He believes that God rewards hard work. The health tea in the lobby recommended by Xiao He is delicious! Thank you also to the kids from the customer service department for sending us water and anti-noise earplugs. What I don’t recommend is that the sound of the train outside the hotel is really scary😟I couldn’t sleep all night!

Honest review about my two-day stay. I'm hoping to see some improvements. Customer Service: Poor. Unresponsive to requests, lacking in providing assistance. Not courteous, which is expected of a hotel staff. Staff: Unaccommodating, often responding with “No” rather than seeking solutions or alternatives. Hotel Room: Good. The automatic toilet feature was a highlight. Cleanliness: Good, but there is potential for improvement. Amenities: Good. Location: Good. Value for Money: Acceptable for a 4-5 star hotel, but the value is diminished by the subpar service. Improvements in customer service and satisfaction are necessary to justify the cost. Overall Experience: Unsatisfactory, especially compared to my other stays at Wyndham hotels. This particular experience did not meet the standards expected from the Wyndham brand, leading to disappointment.

In Huaguo Mountain, the municipal committee compound, I do not know whether the government opened, said that it is a river (river) view room, but I looked carefully for a long time did not see where the river, and imagined in the water is completely different, far away, and also blocked by trees. The room is the facilities are better, use brands, but the biggest problem is that the room is very poorly soundproofed. The guest next door gets up before five o'clock in the morning, gets up and washes, the faucet water flow is particularly large, the sound is loud, open the tap, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down, turn down Like the alarm, I heard clearly. I was woken up directly. It was still strange. What was this sound early in the morning, waves, outside decoration, after listening to a while, I heard that it was the next door washing, going out in the corridor, children were making trouble, adults shouting and talking clearly, You're not going to sleep, I was going to start at seven, but I was forced to get up at five, and I was very unhappy to sleep two hours less. Secondly, the service is also general. The aunt who gets up in the morning and gets rice noodles, throws it to you after cooking, asks her how it is better, and also loves to answer, but the result is not good, I ate half of it, I can't work a bit, the waiter came over and said if I finished eating, which makes me say, Just give her the cutlery and it's pretty positive. Come with expectation, go with dismay.

The room environment is very good. It is worth going to this cliff hotel for the experience. However, the overall operation is obviously not keeping up. I look forward to better management and improvement. There is almost no food on the mountain. There is only a pack of small biscuits and a pack of nuts in the minibar, and nothing else. It is recommended to check the weather. If there is heavy fog, you can't see anything. Everything you see is white, and half of the room fee is wasted.
