Location wise is very good. I would describe it as a not very rundown 4-5star hotel. Room was huge for the price. Just the cleanliness can be improved a ton. Found a few hair in the bathtub upon checking in. Few staining on the carpet, some staining on the wallpaper as well. If you want huge and classy room without minding the cleanliness. Then this is for you

This hotel is very newly refurbished and a lot of things are still under renovation so no escalator, lift are still not properly fitted, etc. But checkin was slow since the team is new and they are still getting used with with the process. But the location is superb and right in the middle of Alor Setar. Pekan Rabu and eateries are all within walking distance.

Well service standard excellent I'm very happy.. With the check in process very quick.. The room was nice and cozy, the bed was so comfortable even the shower was great.. With very good & strong water pressure.. Very pleased with almost everything except for the breakfast a little bit disappointed & most of the food serve not much verity & strangely cold with most of the food warmer not working or switch off.. Well anyway I had a pleasant stay.. Thank you very much.. The Jerai Hotel.. Alor Star.. Keep up the good work 👍💪

We had a wonderful stay at Star City Hotel for Hari Raya! As always, we look forward to staying here whenever we visit our hometown. The hotel is comfortable, convenient, and the staff are friendly. This time, our studio was very close to the air-conditioning compressor, which was quite loud – as a light sleeper, it made sleeping a bit difficult. We did request a room change, but due to the busy Raya period, no rooms were available, which we completely understand. Overall, still a great experience and we will definitely return!

The hotel is in the city center with plenty of parking. The rooms are medium to large in size. Within 500 meters, there are many dining options and a landmark shopping mall. The front desk service was excellent, with very friendly smiles. I recommend improving cleanliness and pest control, especially for cockroaches.

Lovely hotel for the price. Clean linen and towels in excellent condition. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom could do with a makeover, but worked for us. Perhaps better if the hot water was somewhat hotter. Everything else was fine. Evening arrival from the airport Grab about 25 ringit, morning Grab to catch the commuter train to the international border about 10 ringit. I still don't understand why the town has changed its name? Perhaps it's channeling Indonesia where we arrived from? Happy to visit/stay again.

The hotel was okay, but the toilet flushed very poorly. The water pressure in the shower was weak. The bedding didn't seem fresh, so we asked for the sheets and pillowcases to be changed, and they did it. There's a pool at the hotel, but it was full of kids (maybe a sports group), all wearing swim caps. We decided not to swim with them.

The room was not big but is ok for 3 adults to stay. The problem was the washing basin was not located inside the toilet but beside the bed. And the table between the two beds was very small and was accupied with a room telephone. There is no slippers and only one not big table in the room.

I chose this hotel because the rooms are quite spacious and there's ample parking. The only minor inconvenience is that if you're coming and going during school dismissal times, you'll need a little extra patience. The front desk service was also very good; every time we passed by, we'd exchange glances and get a big smile 😊
